Went with 2 other couples first of April. Any little things we needed fixed, they did, right away. Rooms were clean, some days maids left flowers on the bathroom counter, rooms were good size too, with a small balcony. Food was great! Went to a different nice restaurant every night. Steak House was awesome, as was the Japanese Restaurant where they cooked your food right in front of you. Pedro, at the buffet, went out of his way on our last day for breakfast. Had flowers all over our table with cloth napkins, very special. We loved him! Would love to come back. Only thing I missed was you couldn’t see ocean from resort as there was a high ridge between resort & ocean, but you just walked over it & had all kinds of loungers to lay on while enjoying the ocean view. Great place!…
We just got home from this resort. We finished each day of our trip at the Piano Bar. The bartender, Marino treated our group with amazing service and delicious martinis every night. He’s the man!!! Great entertainment too. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed. This place is a hidden gem at this resort.…
We’ve just returned from a week’s holiday with myself husband and 2 children (13 and 9). The hotel is lovely and well laid out and very clean. We’ve travelled to lots of resorts in the Caribbean and after the long flight from the UK we are usually greeted with a welcome and cool drink. No such thing here. Not a great start especially as we witnessed other groups receiving a wonderful fanfare welcome with singers and dancers later that week. Anyway, the check in was quick and the lady was friendly and efficient. However, on leaving the check-in we were met by a man who wanted to give us a ‘free gift’ and asked us to come back and see him later. We realised early on this would be one of those selling and pestering resorts where we would not get a moments peace. On arriving at our hotel room in block 9 I was really upset as it was tatty, old, a bit grubby and very dark. The ‘garden view’ was of a service road. The patio doors didn’t lock (not great as we were on the ground floor) and the room smelt musty! I tried my best to put up with it but the very next day we went back to reception and asked to move. When we told the receptionist our room number she was not surprised at all and moved us to block 5 for the next day. The new room was refurbished and so much better! Vendors: these are a real problem at this resort and you will not be left a lone at all. They are all very polite and you can say no but in a 7 minute time span my husband and I were approached 5 times by 5 different vendors selling massages, boat trips, other watersports!!! It was comical and just not nice. Entertainment for children: this was perhaps one of the biggest disappointments for us as we specifically picked this hotel based on kids activities. There are no supervised daytime activities for teens and pre teens. There’s a little club for under 7’s but nothing to entertain our boys. They were bored! There is a teens club in the bowling alley but it didn’t open till 3pm and not really a club just a couple of pool tables, table tennis and a very hot humid upstairs annex with play stations consoles. My hubby and eldest son played tennis-football everyday but this was organised by other guests. The entertainment team was non existent in supervising or organising any of these activities. It was such a disappointment. There was a foam pool party which was awesome and lots of fun. The highlight of the holiday. Food: food was lovely and the restaurants were great. Mike’s coffee shop was a real hit with us and the staff were always welcoming. Unfortunately there was very little Dominican Republic food which we would have liked to sample. Staff: all of the staff we met were really lovely and always said ‘Hola’. We also always made a point of tipping in restaurants/ bars and the room attendant. They work really hard and deserve it. The staff in the bowling alley (a young lady and Danilo were fantastic and always made us feel welcome. Overall we had a good holiday but glad we were only there for one week (we usually travel for 2 weeks to long haul destinations as it’s such a long journey from the UK) We probably wouldn’t go back again unless there was more for the children to do during the daytime. …
Amazing place, amazing people and amazing experiences. Loved the stay and hospitality here. The place is full of activities that you wouldn’t want to step out. They have great pools and beach. Highly recommended. Special mention: Pokemon, pedro, peluche and fernando
