Nestled in a convenient location, the Punta Cana Princess garners praise for its cleanliness, tropical atmosphere, and beach amenities, though some guests have called out issues with housekeeping service and room restocking. While the pools and dining options are popular, opinions on room comfort and aesthetics are mixed, with several travelers noting the need for updates. The hotel's value is debated; some find it affordable, yet others question the quality relative to the price. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff warmth balanced by critiques of inconsistency.

This is our 9th 2 week stay at this hotel in 11 years. Always at this time of year.
We purchased our trip with Sunwing from Quebec.
Since last year, Sunwing customers have lost access to the VIP section of the beach, and international drinks are no longer included.
We paid for private round trip transportation from the airport to the hotel which is very efficient and safe.
Thanks to Silverio and Alexander for fulfilling our room request.
The weather was very good during the 14 days, and practically no algae in the sea and on the beach.
New this year, it's now a tractor with equipment that cleans the beach, no more trash bags!
Another novelty, new very comfortable layout at the La Petite Fondue restaurant which is our favorite restaurant.
New addition of 2 massage kiosks, one between blocks 4 and 5 and one near the beach bar. The one on the beach breaks up the landscape a bit in our opinion.
What a joy to find Félix on the beach, José and Gray at the beach bar.
A special thank you to Iris, Ingrid, Nancy, Israel, Ordalina, Cristal for all the much appreciated attention, to Francis, Anyensi, and all the others in the restaurants and bars.
The hotel was full at around 90% capacity as of November 6, the clientele was around 50% Germans, 25% Canadians and 25% other Europeans and other countries.
The à la carte restaurants are open with or without appointment, alternating each evening, usually 3 out of 4 open at the same time.
The buffet changes theme every evening.
We played volleyball on the beach every day.
Foam party at the pool every Saturday around 3 p.m., but no BBQ on the beach like in previous years.
Beach party in the evening on the terrace of the beach bar or at the Mare Nostrum bar on a few occasions.
The small evening entertainment shows always take place in the lobby.
Moreover, the expansion made to the Lobby is well thought out.
We used the Princess web application every day to find out which restaurants were open.
We are still so happy to have made this trip to the PCP!
For those who wonder why we choose this hotel, it is for the friendliness of the staff, the reasonable size of the site, the quality of the restaurants without reservations and the beauty of the beach.
We will be back soon.

Due to its beautiful location on the beach, its human size, its cleanliness, the quality of its welcome and the friendliness of all, the Punta Cana Princess is a Pension where you feel good.
The site is very clean, very well maintained. Thank you to the team of gardeners who provide outstanding work.
The beach is regularly cleaned to remove algae that often arrive in the late afternoon. An equipped tractor is active and efficient the next morning to restore all its beauty to the beach.
Beach towels are delivered directly to the beach, Water Things to do. That's great!
Restaurant side: The buffets are rich, varied and guaranteed success for the corner of pastries and fresh fruit! I only went to the Italian restaurant, but it was a delight!
The friendly, smiling staff is efficient!
Thanks to Raùl, who through his professionalism, skills, responsiveness, listening and kindness, makes everyone feel more than a customer.
Many thanks also to Nancy, Patrick, Juana, Altagracia, Ysell, Adrian, José L., Adrian, Rosa, Agustin, Orlinda, Felix.........for their qualities.
The room is clean, spacious enough. Beverages are regularly checked and renewed if necessary; (water, coca, sprite and beer)
Wifi is accessible on the site, you must find the right location!!! For me, the connection went well in the room!
At the time of the passage of Hurricane Beryl off the Dominican coast, very good information given (the day before and the day before) in each room by the management, indicating the situation and the safety measures put in place. Thank you.
Everything is done to make the holiday run smoothly!
Note: the number of guests who regularly return to the Inn: proof that we feel good!!
See you soon, I hope!

I was here in April 2022 (package holidaymaker), in the adults only Princess (at that time there were 2 other associated Princess resorts nearby. I found the buffets early, midday and evening to be average in terms of offerings, the coffee from the pot was enjoyable. The meals in the other restaurants that open in the evening (you may have to queue to get a seat) are included in the price and quite good. The beach bars close relatively early in my opinion. The weather was great, the seaweed (which is washed up from the Bermuda Triangle) is sometimes more or less in the water or on the beach, the hotel beach is regularly cleared of seaweed, unlike some other resorts. Unfortunately, the resort is further north, i.e. there are no shopping options within walking distance nearby, and you are referred to a taxi that takes you into town. I skipped that and was good and just stayed in the resort to rest. There are some guests who have been coming here for many years because the resort is relatively small and the staff will probably recognize you next year. The staff is friendly and helpful. In the evenings there is entertainment that can be heard more or less everywhere, in the reception hall. This is also where the most popular bar in the complex is. Please note that only local alcohol is included.

The transfer from the airport only takes about 30 minutes. The tour company bus usually drives past the other complexes first on the way there.

To start, this resort has wonderful staff and beautiful grounds. The beach is gorgeous with a lot of seating under shaded palapas and umbrellas by the pool. The best spot in the afternoon was under the beautiful seagrape tree. You were close to the bar, restaurant, beach, pool and restrooms! Not only that, it had the best shade and breeze. If you are looking for a very laid back atmosphere, you got it! That's unfortunately where the best stuff ends.
At check in, they tried to sell a 5 day VIP bracelet for $350 per couple that would get you premium liquors i.e Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, etc as well as wifi and room service. We didn't upgrade, and we're happy we didn't.

While we're not picky, the buffet food was mediocre at best. We didn't go hungry but weren't impressed with the options or variety. The dinner restaurants were definitely better and you did not need reservations so that was a plus. Drinks were mostly overly sweet like any other all inclusive.
The activities personnel tried hard to get participation in pool side games but besides that there isn't much entertainment. Evening music/games in the lobby at 9:30 nightly is what is offered.
We heard that this resort will soon undergo some much needed renovations, and I'm glad to hear that. Our room had a nice layout however, our first rooms shower drain was clogged and flooded the room. Our toilet would not flush and our phone was broken so we couldn't call for maintenance. Finally after a couple of trips to the lobby, they changed our room to another down the hall. This one also had toilet flushing issues and a broken phone. After several more trips to the lobby with requests and then complaints, the manager finally sent staff to fix the toilet. They changed it out completely and it did eventually work but our room smelled like sewage for the rest of the trip. Neither room had a working phone or TV but that was the least of our problems. That said, we traveled with two other couples that didn't have the bad luck that we did. Their rooms were dated but in working order. The only thing they mentioned was the lack of toilet/shower/bathroom privacy.
There are frosted doors on the shower and toilet room but leave little to the imagination.
I think the staff tries really hard to make your stay enjoyable but the resort could use a good amount of tlc. They decorated our room with balloons for my husbands birthday which was really nice. We met a few people who have been to this resort several times and admit that it is "tired" but love that they are treated like family.
We have been to several all inclusive resorts and this one is not at the top of our list but it's all in what you make of it. Expect the worst and hope for the best and you may not be disappointed!

The weather was great, pool staff were great, customer services were great, sunbed situation was plentiful, pool was lovely but needs repair.
If you do not speak Spanish, expect to be treated like a second class number by most staff.
After a week, my bedding had not been changed so I took my bedding off to show staff that my bed needed changing.
The cleaning staff took my bedding out of the bath and put it back on the bed!
No clean towels (had to call reception) 11 days out of 14.
English guests get told where to sit in the restaurant and other nationalities are able to pick seats.
Pool men were lovely, but the pool bar staff were VERY rude and Shouted at some guests and ALWAYS served locals/Spanish speaking people first.
The animation team was full of energy and lovely, but we're also part of the problem with lack of inclusion to guests who were not Spanish speaking.
Beach bar staff were first class, polite and always asked how people were.
Beach was amazing, but could have done with it's own staff as 1 pool person between the pool and beach is not good enough.
Customer services were amazing, but reception staff were hopeless and often if they didn't understand, they would simply put the phone down on you or point to customer services with no words at all.
WiFi is not available in rooms as advertised and is only available in reception or the restaurant!
When staff were asked about this, they lied to guests and told us that they were "in between providers"
We know this was a lie as they had been using this excuse for over a year according to previous guests.
Food was lovely although staff could probably benefit from some cross contamination/allergy training.
Tips are expected rather than given as a reward for good service.
Staff will 'hang around' once they have completed a request to wait for a tip. This is not comfortable at all.
Beautiful setting, beautiful weather and you can be as active or relaxed as you want.
Trips from the hotel change their prices daily/according to your face and are up for massive negotiations due to over pricing.
This is my second time in Dominican Republic and I would definitely visit again, but not this hotel.
Advertised as 5* but certainly no more than a 3*.
I previously stayed at the Rui Macao and it was streets ahead of the Punta Cana Princess on 99% of areas.

Birthday treat from the husband was an amazing gesture and the effort put in from him was great. in comparison to the hotels we have stayed at in the Dominican we would not come back here. Rooms are very dated and need some attention, shower ran only cold water for days. Cleaning on the rooms need to improve as maids did not touch certain areas and we didn't get towels restocked. mini bar is crap, drinks service is good BUT! The alcohol will make you ill i was sick for 2 days due to this so we only drank what we bought from the airport. Food options are poor it varies and constant flys around the food. Hotel grounds are nice and staff are very friendly. shout out to Hector on the excursions and Alexander on concierge very helpful, polite and beautiful personalities.

The best thing about the hotel is being able to go to the sister hotels. There is a lovely little shoo on the beach to the right Micheal was very accommodating with our purchases, (Buy your own alcohol from here). On sight shop is ok but a little pricey don't buy and bags from there mine broke in less than 24 hours and they wouldn't refund or exchange it. cash machine out of money go to deluxe caribe and use that cash point. If you go on the buggy excursions purchase the cheaper option as when you arrive they give you all the same anyway be prepared to be sitting round and waiting for ages. Macau beach is very nice good food sold there. Finally go and check out local food Captain cook and Zoho, food was phenomenal!!!! Adults only option is good nice not having children on the beach or by the pool but u need to go to the sister hotels to experience class in terms of bar areas, restaurants and additional amenities.

We were there for a week March 2-9. The housekeeping staff was ridiculous, Lazy and unwilling to help or assist in items you needed. We found 2 to 3 women sitting on the steps near our room Most of the time, who would not get up and help us find/obtain the items we needed. Bring your own washcloths if you go to this resort because you’ll never get any and you may want to bring some shower gel because apparently they don’t have Enough. We had to wait three hours to get towels and some soap so we could go to dinner because when they clean your room they do not bring supplies With them to stock Your room. They don’t bring you clean cups or silverware to the room with the coffee supplies daily, They just wipe Your old cups out, nothing was ever replaced daily, With who knows what towel or cloth they used. We had cups that were chipped and silverware that were easy to track. Food was good but the restaurants are closed every other day but you never know which Was open or closed, The list they put out was incorrect most of the Time. Our best meal was at Tao at the sister resort. They need more bar staff, especially at the pool. It took a while to get his attention to Get your drinks. BTW, we could not call the front desk ever because our phone did not work either. Very Disappointed

The hotel area is small, compact and well-groomed. The cleanest beach, which is cleaned constantly. Everything is nearby - reception, restaurants, swimming pool and ocean. There are 5 buildings in total. Three to the left of the reception and two to the right. It seemed to me that 3.4, 5 were more well-groomed. We lived in the 5th, closest to the beach and ocean, on the first floor. The room has a TV, a refrigerator with drinks, a coffee maker and a set of tea and coffee. Children under 18 years of age are not allowed into the hotel. The contingent is mainly Germans, Americans, and Canadians.

They clean the rooms well, if you forgot to give something, you can come up and ask (they forgot to put towels on us one day), it’s not a problem.

Hotel without children and it's great! The animation is cool, they try! They taught me how to dance salsa (I can do it amateurishly, of course, but it was interesting to gain new experience).

Five a la carte restaurants serving delicious dishes. The buffet is also varied, the snack bar is open around the clock, which made it possible to have a peaceful breakfast at dawn, before departure. Have time to enjoy their delicious fruits and coffee. A separate topic is coffee. To say that it is tasty and aromatic is to say nothing! Combined with rum, the sound of the ocean and palm trees, this is a song for the taste buds and soul!

Bars are open from morning until evening, offering everything from water and milkshakes to rum.

A little about the country. We took several excursions plus rented a car, we wanted to see more. This is what I can ultimately recommend. The capital, Santo Domingo, is a must; it is the oldest settlement in the Americas, founded by Europeans. The city is famous for its colonial architecture; We went on an excursion to the Samana Peninsula to see whales, Bakarom Island and a waterfall. The excursion is difficult, it’s a long drive, but it was worth it. And, of course, the island of Saona is a paradise in the Caribbean Sea)) Julia Olonen has excellent excursions; in the search you can immediately find her on the first page. We recommend it to everyone now.

Overall, I definitely recommend this heavenly place!
P.s. For lovers of Turkey and Egypt: Dominican Republic - emotionally and not only, much cooler!!!

Stay at the Punta Cana Princess from 9 November to 23 November 2024

This is our 10th 2-week stay at this hotel in 12 years. Always at this time of year.
We bought our Sunwing trip from Quebec City as we have every time.
Since 2023 Sunwing guests have lost access to the VIP section of the beach, and international drinks are no longer included.
We paid for private transportation with Sunwing round trip between the airport and the hotel which is very efficient and secure ($40 CAD/person).
Thank you to Alexander for responding to our room request.
The hotel was full to about 90% capacity, the guests were about 40% German, 40% Canadian and 20% other European and other countries.

Many clouds and regularly rain during the 14 days, which had not happened in other years, and practically no algae in the sea and on the beach.
The large full moon tide combined with strong currents eroded a small part of the beach during our stay, and even washed away 2 palm trees.
Quickly corrected after a few days by relocation work of some palapas and the development of sand by a tractor.
What a pleasure to meet Felix on the beach and José at the beach bar.
We played volleyball on the beach every day. The volleyball court was moved in front of the beach bar.
The animation is always very present, with activities on the beach in the morning and at the pool in the afternoon.
Foam party at the pool every week around 3pm.
Beach party in the evening on the terrace of the beach bar a few times.
Small entertainment evening shows always take place in the lobby.

Another novelty, new very comfortable furnishings at the restaurant La Petite Fondue which is our favorite restaurant.
Also for the first time a lobster and steak dinner for repeat guests at Mare Nostrum.
We ate every lunch on the terrace of Mare Nostrum, and unfortunately the service was less good than in previous years.
A special thank you to Iris, Ingrid, Nancy, Israel, Ordalina, Cristal and Carolina for all the much appreciated attention, to Francis, Anyensi, and all the others in restaurants and bars.
The à la carte restaurants are open with or without appointment, alternating each evening, usually 3 out of 4 open at the same time.
The main buffet restaurant changes the theme every night.
We used the Princess web app every day to find out which restaurants are open, but not always reliable.
PCP guests have access to the Caribbean Princess and Tropical Princess restaurants, but we've never been there.

We are still so happy to have made this trip to the PCP!
For those who wonder why this hotel is chosen repeatedly, it is for the friendliness of the staff, the reasonable size of the site, the quality of restaurants without reservations and the beauty of the beach.
We'll be back soon.

We also travel to other all-inclusive hotels for adults only several times a year.

An overall disappointing experience unfortunately.
The rooms are old and very worn, the cleanliness is very sloppy almost non-existent, and the wifi only works in reception and when we pointed out that we had no connection in the room no one did anything. Especially in the evening the rooms are very noisy due to the music even with the windows closed. The air conditioning works poorly and is very noisy, unfortunately you have to turn it off to sleep. The ceiling fan is also noisy.
The floor staff comes in to change towels even if you are in your room in bed.
The beach is VERY dirty and maintenance is non-existent there too, many sunbeds are broken and the sunbeds in the VIP area are very dirty.
In addition to the dirt (butts, bottle caps, shards of glass, shoes, etc.), the sea dumps tons of algae on the beach and it stays there.
The security staff will make a fuss if your hotel bracelet comes off but at the same time they let hundreds of people pass by who every 2 minutes will try to sell you tours, photos with animals, gadgets and even drugs.
The prices inside are embarrassing, we paid 20 dollars for 3 bottles of water and 2 bags of chips.
The food at the buffet is good, but the themed restaurants are VERY far from what they would like to offer.
