We spent 12 days in this resort and I must say that we are pleasantly satisfied, even if there are a few notes to tidy up. The resort is very well kept, large, clean spaces, greenery well cared for on a daily basis, right from the start you enter the relaxing atmosphere of the entire property. Services: the structure offers everything, we really appreciated the various lessons scheduled during the week (special thanks to Florencia yoga teacher); the daytime and evening entertainment guys are very good, not intrusive but at the same time communicative. It's difficult to get bored, between courses, swimming pool, beach and SPA. Even in the evening the customer always has a wide range of entertainment available. Catering: we are quite satisfied with the catering, the buffet restaurant offers many products, in particular the grilled meats and fish are excellent. Cold products such as salads, vegetables and other condiments should be kept cool. The two restaurants upon reservation (Mar de sal and Muoi) are also very good. Table service is fast and quite precise, it is difficult for the staff to keep customers waiting. The guys who work there have always been considerate towards us. The SPA is truly regenerating, I recommend every customer to take advantage of it because the staff is very capable and professional. I would like to point out some small notes to improve the customer experience: unfortunately the service at the pool bar was distracted, slow and unprofessional; the beautiful beach unfortunately the temporary presence of algae made swimming difficult. We happened to walk back at night because the electric machine had run out of battery, this shouldn't happen. We had problems with a refund (which in the end was not given to us) for an excursion booked with agents who pass by on the beach: don't trust them because they don't work well and the hotel should not allow these people to pass through. The rooms: yes, they are not 5-star hotels, the bed is very comfortable but the noisy air conditioning system should be modernized and cleaning should be done more carefully, paying attention to the maintenance of even small things (towel holder, toilet paper holder, clean better the shower glass). Despite this, when we called about a room problem, it was resolved immediately. I end by reporting an episode that often happened: at 7.30 in the morning the pool loungers were already almost all occupied by "ghost" customers who left their towels and went away; I pointed out this situation several times to the managers but they did not take action, even though the rules posted at the entrance to the swimming pool are clear. It's not the hotel's fault but the poorly behaved customers, but the staff should intervene in some way. In conclusion, we will keep a beautiful memory of this place and the holiday, certainly this hotel can offer the customer everything he wants, certain of the necessary improvements. Lastly: the lobby bar is perfect, thanks for the excellent cocktails!

In a nutshell - the best overall resort experience I've ever had! Collectively, our group of 6 unanimously agreed. AND WE WERE NOT LEVEL. Just regular guests. So many reviews on this site are from Level guests so we really had no idea before we arrived of the non Level experience. As we were there for two weeks (Apr 1-15), I'll start with the most important reason the resort is so wonderful - the staff! To start our day, my friend and I went to the Balance Bar every morning for coffee/tea/smoothies and a few little pastries. YANELITZA, the barista there was amazing and always happy to see us!!! I enjoyed americanos with the odd cappucino every now and then and my friend, Yvette, had English Breakfast tea. We also enjoyed the smoothies from time to time which were fresh and fabulous as well as some of the specialty teas made daily. Now that I'm home, I'm wondering how I can survive each morning without that joyous start to the day where we sat in a beautiful airy breezeway with a colourful companion - the resident peacock - who would stop by to visit from time to time. A huge shout out to YANELITZA, our morning saviour who was some days accompanied by Adriana who was also lovely. To note, on the day we left, Yanelitza met us with a surprise delivery of our smoothies to the lobby! After the Balance Bar, we headed back to our room to get ready to hit the glorious beach. Our rooms were so very close to the lobby in building 19 (ours was 1916 - 2nd floor room overlooking the main thoroughfare to and from the beach and lush landscaping including a little lagoon with pink flamingos and other wildlife). We loved the location as at night, all the entertainment took place there and the evening buffet was a one minute walk. The peacock mentioned earlier took up residence in a tree near the room so we said hello along the way. The beach and pool were a short trolley ride away. They ran continuously and the drivers were always friendly and helpful. If we didn't want to wait, we walked - and the drivers would stop to ask when passing if we wanted a ride. Back to the room, we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and pillows, a well stocked mini fridge and a sweet, young cleaner who took great care of us. Never any shortage of towels or toilet paper - the basics for sure but these are things we have had to fight to get at many other resorts. Beach towels were never an issue and if your towel went missing, the helpful staff at the front desk went out of their way to ease your mind and provide a new card. Customer relations at the resort were also amazing - Antonio and Armondo and several others truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best guest experience. My friend will elaborate in her review on her interactions with both of these gentleman and others as she was their direct point of contact. The beach was our main retreat throughout the days and the pool from 5-7 pm was a great respite for our five o'clock Cosmo. Although there was some seaweed, it never hampered our ability to swim. The men on the beach worked tirelessly in the hot sun to clean it and we were in awe by their efforts. If you can, please show them some appreciation - they have very little. Beach chairs were never hard to find but a hut was more difficult...by noon, we could usually nab one but some days were harder and later than others. Activities at the beach and pool were many and varied such as mud cleansing, Pilates, yoga, dance lessons, spin bikes in the pool, aquafit, painting, paddle fit you name it! More about the animation team below...much more! As for the food quality/quantity, everywhere and anywhere we ate was divine. We all agreed, the best of any experience we have had. The breakfast and lunch buffets at the beach, the food truck by the pool bar, the dinner buffet by the lobby and all the restaurants we tried (we did the Vietnamese, the International, the Mediterranean, Quimera (thanks to Antonio/Armondo) and the Hacienda. We loved each and every one. We could have eaten at a few more a la cartes given we were there for two weeks but the buffet was soooooo good, we didn't bother. The pasta chef at the nighttime buffet deserves a special shoutout...he was quite funny and went out of his way to make a great pasta. LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THE FANTASTIC ANIMATION TEAM - a VERY, VERY SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to our great friends JAVIER (my future son-in-law lol) AND CLAUDIO who were just the best humans (NOT TO MENTION DANCERS) and who even organized a surprise birthday party for our friend, Theresa. It took place in the "Zen" room (as we labelled it) in the main lobby. They spear headed the event with one of the lobby waitresses, "Queen Moon" (Rena) independently. The management was on board and also there to greet us after dinner with Claudio, Javier, Rena, Ningel and Coca Cola (aka) with champagne and cake and the best rendition of happy birthday. Javier and Claudio even purchased gifts for our friend from the hotel shop. She was in tears...and we could not believe how they had gone out of their way to decorate and organize the event. These people deserve soooo much credit. In the daytime, this team also led many of the pool and beach events. They work so hard but always took the time to talk and hang out. Fun, smart, respectful, talented and professional. They truly made our trip so memorable and are the main reason we'd definitely return. The animation team was led by their tireless manager, Pablo, who was anywhere and everywhere - very engaged and respected by his team - the quality of the entertainment he procured was stellar from top quality musicians to singers to shows. He and the animation team had the lobby jamming and dancing through the night. Special mention was the Silent Party which was a first for us and probably our favourite event besides the Walk Around the Moon event - something we hadn't heard of before. So fun. We danced pretty much every night away in the lobby. Special shoutout to the night bar gents who were superb - the waitresses - RENA AND MODESTO, and others who we came to know and love. These lobby teams were simply amazing during the entire two weeks. Also, not to forget JOSE at the beach bar who was the BEST. He hustled day in and day out and stood out for sure. Finally, our waitress in the lunch buffet who was in the corner near the grill and bar. Her name escapes me right now but my friend Yvette will make mention in her review. Do not hesitate to book this resort. the demographic was young to old. It truly fits the bill as a wellness resort but so very fun at the same time - we came back rested and rejuvenated (although we made the most of each and every day and night...)! A few final points: The grounds are spectacular in and of themselves. We felt very safe - security team did a great job, The maintenance and gardening teams were superb - always at work cleaning and pruning and so very friendly. Overall, we felt very welcomed and pampered. I can't say enough. We cannot wait to return.
We hope to see you again next year! THANK YOU ALL. Love from the Halifax, Nova Scotia gals: Lynn, Yvette, Theresa, Heidi, Carol Ann and Gwen

I will start by saying the lobby and the grounds were very pretty. I took my girlfriend here for her 48th birthday. The food is aweful And the wait for the buffet was over 40 minutes They need to pick you up in golf carts and trains that are in the resort bc it’s so big. Too long to walk from lobby to pool or beach. No one speaks English other than the check in personnel which was extremely difficult to ask any questions. There is one beer on tap (presidents) included. All Others you must pay for. The casino has 2 roulette and 2 black jack and a dozen slots. It’s filled w smoke. At the pool they took our towel cards when we booked an excursion and we had to fight nearly every day to get towels. The excursion off the property was AMAZING! It involved zip lining. Horse back riding. doom buggies and a great lunch all For $120. The ride was about 1:10 minutes away but we’ll Worth it. While at dinner at the resort I had paid extra $50 For a steak bc the food was so terrible and when the steak came out it was filled w fat so I did not eat it. When I tried to explain to the front desk upon checking out that I didn’t eat it. They claimed they called our waitress and she said I did. It wasn’t worth the $50 argument. Upon check out they offered a hospitality room where we can shower to leave the premises bc our flights were later in the evening and check out is at noon and then gave us keys to another guests room. This was unsettling and shows you how unorganized this property is. We also had to put our towels on the grass near the pool bc they have zero policy in place about towels reserving the chairs by the pool. We were at the pool At 10am and watched dozen of chairs empty for several hours. It was just a terrible experience and we will never return to This property

Dear Mr. Vf, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you appreciated the beauty of our lobby and grounds, they are indeed designed to offer a serene and luxurious welcome. It's also gratifying to know that you found your off-property excursion to be amazing, providing fond memories of adventure and local culture. On the other hand, we regret to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on our gastronomic experiences, and it's disheartening to learn that our culinary offerings fell short for you. Our resort strives to offer a variety of dining options to cater to all palates, and we regret that we missed the mark. Regarding the wait times at the buffet and the challenges around the pool towels, we will certainly reflect on your feedback. Our intention is always to provide seamless service and comfort for our guests. Lastly, we're sorry to hear about the confusion with the hospitality room, and we want to assure you that guest privacy and organization are of utmost importance to us. We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Kindest regards, Derryl D'costa Hotel Manager Melia Punta Cana Beach A Wellness Inclusive Resort | Adults Only

This hotel has everything you need for a luxurious holiday. And having chosen The Level made our experience even better.
- Comfortable and spacious rooms, all located among beautifully maintained gardens and palm trees - 4 à la carte restaurants included for dinner, all with different themes and very good options (lots of fish). There is also one more restaurant with a buffet. - Straw umbrellas and loungers available and almost no people on the beach - Several pools with bars and bar with beach service - Different free activities (Yoga, Volley, painting, etc.) are offered daily, as well as a well-equipped gym with air conditioning
The experience at The Level is worth it as it adds a few special things:
- A “butler” assigned and available throughout the stay - An exclusive à la carte restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and air conditioning to escape the midday heat) - A rooftop bar with a very nice view to enjoy good cocktails at night - A separate sector on the beach with own bar and 2 exclusive pools also - A SPA with various services at additional cost and a water circuit included
We were lucky to be attended by Eduardo (“Eddie Solutions”), who always helped us in all our orders and cared to make our stay the best. Every day he wrote to ask us what we needed and also gave us several tips in a selfless way that were very useful!
Some minor points to keep in mind: -While the hotel has nets to contain the sargassum, at the time we went there was plenty and the water was not transparent. This is something that happens in every hotel in the area but apparently only happens during the summer - Some rooms have very noisy air conditioning, to the point of not being able to be used. In our case we had to change rooms because of this issue, but we were able to do it without any problems - The housekeeping service is noticed very early, starting to talk and knocking on the doors of the rooms from 08:30 AM The coupon delivered on the first day for consumption is misleading. Conditions are unclear and most are not written, which ends up generating a disappointment when you want to use it
In conclusion, the infrastructure and service of the staff make the experience personalized even in a hotel of such size.
We will return without hesitation!

Alejandro, our concierge, made the stay along with the rest of the staff. At every turn, this team shows up, so helpful, thoughtful, and the culture of service is exceptionally strong.
We've been coming to the Meliá Punta Cana, for a number of years and multiple visits over that time, even before their name and services change to incorporate wellness. The beach location is probably one of the best in Punta Cana. We love our morning and evening walks that lead you far away from the resort. Beach is wide, lots of chairs and cabana, even some you can rent right out from for a small purchase.
I've always gotten up early to workout at the gym, which by the way is open as early as 6am. It's not elaborate, but it has enough to do a quality workout, some weights, a few machines for strength training, bikes, elliptical, rower, and treadmills. Because I'm up early I've realized the need to find my spot early because later in the day they're all gone. I would recommend finding your spot and when you're done using it, remove your things for others.
Rooms and staff keep everything very clean, the environment is based on minimalist presentation, so basic, clean, but really outside of sleeping, there's no reason to be in the room. We enjoyed the restaurants, lots to choose from, and our favorite is Dominican night and food, like so good.

Dear Mr. Irvin, Thank you very much for this positive review. We're delighted to hear that our beach location has consistently provided you with the perfect setting for your morning and evening walks, truly one of Punta Cana's finest. It's wonderful to know that our gym facilities have been able to contribute to your wellness routine, offering energy for life activities from dawn. Our team, especially Alejandro, appreciates your kind words on the service culture we pride ourselves on. The gastronomic experiences during Dominican night have indeed been a highlight for many, and we're glad it has been for you too. We appreciate your suggestion regarding the utilization of beach spots and will certainly keep it in mind as we continuously strive to improve our guest experiences. It's heartening to know that the minimalist presentation of our rooms has resonated with you, emphasizing the room experience that is focused on tranquility and rest, while our cleanliness standards uphold your comfort. The positive feedback on our diverse dining options, including the authenticity and quality of our Dominican cuisine, is something we're very proud of. We look forward to welcoming you back on future occasions. Best wishes, Ediangie Rodriguez Gex Experience Manager at Melia Punta Cana Beach A Wellness Inclusive Resort | Adults Only

We are actually staying here right now, arrived 30/12 and stay 10 days. Upon arrival I was upset about the hotel: the room is significantly outdated, there was very strong chlorine smell making it impossible to stay , safe box didn’t work, buffet dinner was sad . All this after long flight and our solid resort experience around the world, mostly staying in premium hotels. In the end they did something with the smell, fixed the safe box (changed the batteries) and it became ok.
We didn’t take Level (not that we were offered) and stayed in Premium room (close to the beach), but I actually believe that upgrades should be from good to very good, not from “could be better” to “just ok”, which is the case of Level. Having 2 other activities per day available, plus 1 more restaurant where you can eat and separate area on the beach (but beach beds are the same and the number of them is the same, soooo) and butler (for what? There is nothing much to do at the hotel and you are probably capable to go till the bar to order a drink, at the same time doing your steps) - not enough to be considered as perks. The only perk I see is more renovated rooms. But again, it shouldn’t be “Level”, call it just “renovated building fare”…
Now it’s 3rd day and I feel OK about hotel. Rooms indeed are old. Staff is doing professional job. New Year dinner was fabulous and it was included for everyone and the same for everyone.
Beach: white sand, nice sea, algae a bit but it’s a nature. Guys are cleaning it constantly. Beach beds - people indeed are taking them early in the morning , just be ready and go before 8:30-09:00
Pool: huge size, quite cold (26-27), almost no people in it
Food: breakfast is very good (we saw better, but we found something to eat). Plenty of healthy options, you can ask for poached eggs or to do eggs Benedict. Pastry selection is also very nice. Cold platter is good (cheese, salmon, tuna etc). However fruits are not impressive, maybe it depends on the season
Lunch buffet has pasta and wok stations and they are good. But selection of fish or seafood almost doesn’t exist. They had ceviche corner but all the ceviche were without any fish 😁 sort of vegetables only.
Dinner - buffet is not impressive. Restaurants have good menu, but probably you will chose one thing and will eat only this for the entire stay.
Staff is professional and they do their best.
Activities are nice: bike tour, yoga, aqua gym, salsa, some master classes as well (we did skincare routine, they also have massage classes etc).
What I appreciate a lot - the audience in the hotel. While choosing, I was checking Instagram of some hotels and some really were shocking by the people staying there. Nothing like this in Melia. Despite bottomless drinks 31/12, no one was drunk. People don’t really drink alcohol like pigs, everyone is calm and quiet.
Sellers on the beach are not annoying too much, if you say no, they just pass by.
Overall I can say that probably value for money is not exceptional, but it’s not terrible stay. You will probably have your good vacation here.

We started at the Meliá caribe beach and moved to the punta cana adults side after one day. Caribe Beach is not worth it and Punta Cana is very nice. Caribe beach bathrooms were not clean, minibar full of opened drinks, and whole beach resort needs a good cleaning. At the adults only punta cana side complete opposite and everything is clean and well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. It’s like two completely different resorts under the Meliá name in the same location. Kids are just rough on stuff and evidently the beach resort staff as well as they looked tired as they are unhelpful. Cost was $4k for two bedroom suite and was bringing kids but last minute changes ended up bringing two other adults. Upcharge for two additional adults was $1400. Move to the Punta Cana for remainder was $1k adder for remaining five nights. Caribe beach rooms were actually larger but needs deep cleaning. After traveling to other islands the DR in general isn’t my return to vacation spot. Casino for both properties is small like most other resorts except the hard rock which is huge. If I was going back I would stay again at the adults only Punta Cana Beach resort side. Staff, food and drinks all much better! The Caribe Beach manager and a gentleman named Abraham were very helpful in switching properties and interested in why we wanted to move. We ended up in two separate premium beach rooms instead of the suite we had at Caribe, but worth it to switch.

I stayed here from 13 to 20 August in a beach/pool area suite but I was not a The Level customer. I'll start with the positive notes: a paradisiacal nature, well-kept green spaces, large rooms, everything on average clean, possibility of drinking and eating practically at any time, enormous spaces for walking and running on the beach and among the palm trees. Negative notes: there is nothing that resembles a European-style 5-star hotel or the 5-star hotels that we can see in Milan. The level of service is quite poor. English this stranger! The staff, in rare cases, is on average always pissed off, almost annoyed to see you. I have been celiac all my life, I have traveled half the world and it is the first time I have seen chefs, waiters and waiters so unaware of this intolerance. Every morning I asked if there were gluten-free foods (report made even before leaving) and I received the most disparate answers (nothing, there is fruit, only one morning the corn cakes appeared and then disappeared). But I wonder? I was the only one who arrived in a 5-star hotel in a well-known tourist location as a celiac in 2023?? Kitchen aside, it should be noted that in the bathrooms of the rooms there is no courtesy set but the worst thing that anyone needs to know if they go to this resort to rest: you can't sleep with the air conditioning, it's a tractor that starts up and turns off with an unbearable noise. so either you suffer from the heat or you suffer from sleep. Last but not least, it is clearly not the responsibility of the structure but it is worth knowing: I have never taken a swim in the sea because it was invaded by meters and meters of brown algae. It's a great shame because the place is a paradise.. but not 5 stars!!

+ the resort is in a beautiful location, lots of green and animals to look for + staff was often very helpful when we asked for help + rooms are very spacious (I did not purchase the Level option), however, they could use an update + spa services are great
- the beach is vast, however, the actual ocean water is full of algae. We had to walk 5-10 minutes to find a better beach (still not the best you can find in the Caribbean) - food is simply terrible. You can tell they use the same food from dinner to lunch etc, and it's often tasteless and previously frozen. - the main pool is often dirty, we found multiple times lots of leaves, parts of plants, and it was often not cleaned daily. - you are likely to find lizards/mosquitos/roaches in your room as the doors don't fully close or there are many holes in the bathroom. - staff members cleaning rooms are either very slow, they forget to give you stuff (e.g. water, snacks, towels) so we often had to call the reception to get them.
Overall, if you are looking for clean and pristine beaches with a relaxing vibe, look somewhere else.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing Meliá Punta Cana Beach for your recent stay and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you appreciated our beautiful location, the spacious rooms, and the excellent service provided by our team. It's also great to know that you enjoyed the spa services, which are a highlight for many of our guests. However, we regret that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the issues you encountered with the beach, the food quality, and the cleanliness of the main pool. Your feedback regarding these areas is invaluable as it helps us identify where we can improve. Rest assured, we will address these concerns with our team to enhance the guest experience. We also understand that the presence of lizards and other insects can be unsettling, although we make every effort to maintain a comfortable environment in harmony with the tropical surroundings. Our housekeeping team will be reminded of the importance of attention to detail to prevent any lapses in service. We hope that, despite these challenges, you were able to enjoy some aspects of your visit. Should you consider returning to Punta Cana, we would love the opportunity to provide you with an improved experience. Thank you once again for your feedback. Hi, tennis did not seem like a specialty there. I wouldn’t hold out hope they have a pro there. There was an extensive activity schedule and tennis was never mentioned.
There are no casinos at this resort. There may be something nearby. But keep in mind, unless you have a reliable concierge in the Level you will get many conflicting answers there.
