Meliá Caribe Beach Resort boasts a picturesque setting that has received accolades for its beautiful grounds, pools, and beach access. However, guests have called out the resort for its additional costs, particularly for beach activities, and the overall value is often described as disappointing due to hidden fees and lackluster dining options. While the atmosphere is vibrant with entertainment, it can sometimes be too intense for those seeking tranquility.
Service quality varies; some guests encounter friendly staff, whereas others face unprofessionalism and delays. Room conditions are a common concern, with reports of outdated furnishings and maintenance issues.

So where do I start? This property is absolutely beautiful but huge. The pool area was lush large and had a great swim up bar. The beach was beautiful and flat .Great for walking. …no seaweed. The ocean water was like bathwater and very calm. Great if you wanted to bring a tube to float ……The lobby was awesome. All open air with a great tropical feel about it what I didn’t like is that you had to take a train through the property to get from one spot to another it being so huge ….if you were lucky enough to have a room near the beach there was a buffet open for breakfast and lunch ….near the main lobby there was a larger buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner. The food was OK lots of choices but not many dessert Choices, but always included ice cream. The wait staff at the buffets were practically nonexistent. They were few and far between …never any clean tables and were not very attentive…. they ran out of lots of food and took their time replacing it even after five requests….you would wait in line for dinner 25 minutes and when they seated you you’d notice at least 25 tables around you empty but not cleared, which was frustrating to say the least …..they did have a great waterpark for children and adults. Every day we had to have four new room keys made in hopes that at least one would work at night. You could not count on hot water for a shower…. The specialty restaurants which you had to make a prior reservation for which totally not worth it. You left hungry and disappointed, and ended up eating at the buffet to fill your stomach. There is a casino in the lobby small but it did the trick it was a game room. My Husband had a deep tissue massage for 90 minutes and paid $180 and felt it was not worth the price nothing special. .. there were people walking the beach selling beach, coverups, and souvenirs, but did not pester or annoy you. If you walked the beach to the east you would eventually run into a great beach bar called hurricane and some local shops in huts on the sand to do more souvenir shopping. I forgot to mention that on the beach, the resort did have small trailers set up offering hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks. There were no organized activities at the pool, other than water aerobics . Tons of young families with babies in carriages . All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.

My family and I stayed at the Melia Caribe beach resort - “The Level” from March 16-23rd 2023.
This overlapped a few days of our Canadian “march break” or “spring break” days, which was noticeable in how busy the resort was from Thursday-Sunday vs Monday – Thursday of our rough 8 day stay.
I will go into detail below, and break things down from our perspective, but if you want a quick review and move on to the next review, the resort was great. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5. The resort was clean, staff was friendly, food was good, the beach was good, and we all had a great time, would recommend to families to consider for their next stay.
Check-In
We arrived later in the evening, approx. 8:00 PM. The drive is about 20 mins from the airport. We were booked under the “Level” which is Melia’s “upgrade” to your typical resort experience. You can read all about it on their website. It provided us with a separate check-in area, where we and another family were greeted promptly and in a friendly way by their staff. Juan Goncalves was our check-in host, and he was great, answered all our questions and provided us all with drinks and food or coffee while we waited. Yes it took a bit of time, probably 20-25 mins in total. That’s expected and pretty typical of most of the resorts we stayed at. Then part of the level experience is a golf cart shuttle to your room. Special shout out to Juan he was fantastic, bubbly, comical and friendly.
Room
So, here I will talk about the room, and also the buildings and which ones I would avoid for personal reasons. The room was on the third floor, was clean, and very large. The Level rooms are the ones with the large King bed, and jacuzzi tub overlooking the bedroom. His and hers sinks, plus another washroom shower area with another sink. There’s a kitchenette which I am not sure who would need that as it comes with a stove, full fridge etc, my guess is for longer stays and those with special dietary needs could use this to cook their own food, or that they may rent these out to locals on their down seasons and provide a full kitchen. There’s a dining area and a living room area. Two TV’s. Two A/C units and a nice large balcony with 4 chairs and a table. We had two children with us, 16 and 12 years old, and the staff moved the tables around and provided a comfortable thick mattress single bed or cot, and the couch is a large roughly queen-sized pull-out.
The fridge was stalked with 4 beers, 8 water bottles, 6 coke, 2 club soda, chocolate milk and orange juice ever day. You also were topped off with plantain chips, M&M’s, Oreo’s, soda crackers, coffee and tea.
Now – our room location, however, was not the best. As it was in building 46. Building 46, 47 and guessing 41 are not in the best locations if you’d like quiet after Midnight. Every night, there’s a DJ and Dance party at the main lobby theatre area. This does not shut down until 12:30-12:45 AM, and it’s loud. Wall penetrating Bass loud on any front-facing rooms towards this area. Now I love to party still, and I don’t mind loud music, but personally, for me the resort should shut this down at midnight. They eventually move the music into the Casino at 12:45 and they should consider doing this earlier. We did find a bit of a workaround for us but keeping the A/C units running full blast, which created some white noise and helped a bit.
So if you’re a couple with no kids planning on staying up until 1:00 – 2:00 AM, this won’t be a problem, however with kids and having to get up to get a beach chair at 6:00 AM, ever day, this might be an issue. Avoid these buildings if that’s the case. Please see the pics of the maps to see what I mean.
Resort
The resort is beautiful, one of the nicest kept grounds I have seen in a while. Staff are constantly grooming the palms and grass, bushes, trees etc. You can tell it’s a mature resort. A lot of water features and ponds with turtles and fish, and birds. Yes the peacocks are around usually in the morning and evening. Approx 10 or more. The lobby is lovely and laid out well. It is a big resort and somewhat spread out. The walk is not as bad as most say on the reviews. We were in room 46 the furthest away from the beach and it took under 10 mins to walk there. Plenty of shuttles and trains going around, the occasional pick up on an empty golf cart by the friendly “circle” staff. But it is large and wide and is combined with the Melia Paradisus next door and the Adults only Melis on the other side. There are benefits to staying close to the beach and benefits to being closer to the main lobby. The main lobby has the majority of restaurants and bars at night and hosts the main buffet, plus a theatre Casino and DJ nightlife.
Being closer to the beach puts you closer during the day to the main pool and obviously the beach. There is a breakfast buffet at the beach in building 13 Tartufo, as well as lunch, but this turns into a reservation-required restaurant at night. So either cluster of buildings you will need to walk to get to a certain area each day no matter what, it just depends on where you want to be closer to. Also, the beach cluster of buildings at night would obviously be quieter.
Food
The food was good, I wouldn’t say top-notch of the best I have ever had, but nothing to really complain about other than sometimes some of the buffet food was “lukewarm” at best. But not always, sometimes it was hot. It would just depend. Ther food was consistent however and we did prefer to use our “level” privileges and eat the level restaurant and buffet Building 21/22 which is the Riviera. It’s quieter, more intimate. You can order off the menu, no reservations are required for this, or the buffet. It’s your choice every night. Except for the romantic beach night, which is extra money, they have a beach area near the pool which is sheltered and candlelight with an extra special menu. We did not partake in this, but it did look nice. We did eat at the main buffet, and it was good, but what we noticed at the Riviera Level restaurant was that the pasta was made to order here. This goes for breakfast eggs/omelets as well. Also, in the morning you could make a Bloody Mary to your liking at the self-serve table bar area, or a mimosa.
Cape Nao Building 23 at the beach had great lunches, you can order off the menu here. It’s right on the beach, and in our opinion has the best fries and hamburgers at the resort. They also had very good chicken wraps which the kids devoured. The lunch buffet on the beach at building 13 Tartufo was also very good, and though busy, had no issues finding a seat. Also highly recommended.
We did eat one night at the main buffet The Merkado, and it was also good, just very busy, and you didn’t get the same food choices.
We did eat at two of the restaurants, the Hacienda (Mexican) and Capri (Mediterranean) We preferred the Mexican restaurant, it was excellent, we love Mexican food, and you also get your own Mexican buffet at this restaurant, plus order of the menu. We used our concierge Rey to book the restaurant for us (another perk of the Level is your own Concierge). Capri was also good, but it’s less “Greek” Mediterranean than some may expect, and more of a middle eastern Mediterranean-style restaurant. But it is still good food.
Beach
The beach was great, very pretty almost white sand beaches. Nice and wide, the water was warm and at the time of us being there, the seaweed or seagrass was not too bad at all. They had tractors out most mornings collecting what they could.
The floating play park we did use. And we paid $12 USD per person for 30 mins, and that’s all you really need. It was fun, and it does provide a distraction of the kids become bored, I would splurge and advise to try it out. It’s $20 USD for a full hour, but that’s a long time to be out there.
The beach chairs.... yes, it’s true you have to be out there early to get one. My wife would get up at 6:00 AM and be out there around 6:20 or so and had no problems being able to get a chair. This isn’t a new thing at resorts for this to take place. It’s unfortunate and isn’t policed by staff so you do what you have to do. After 7:00 AM I would say you’d be hard-pressed to find a vacant spot. After lunch we noticed some people getting too hot and leaving the area sometimes, and after 3:00 PM you should be able to find chairs vacant again.
And yes, they should order more chairs, especially in the regular area of the beach as there is a “Level” section of the beach. They could easily order 100 more chairs, they have the space. The beach area in front of the lunch buffet is wide open. I don’t know why they fill this area with chairs and umbrellas. It may solve the issue of claiming chairs in the morning as well if there were more available.
The covered beach beds, from what we could see the only ones you need to pay for are the ones right at the beachfront, closes to the water. The other ones are near the pools and set back further from the beach, you don’t need to pay for.
As far as the vendors on the beach, I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. Yes they are there, yes they come almost every day, but the are NOT a nuisance. They only ask once, for the most part and a simple gesture of no and a “no thank you” and they keep moving on. In no way were we pestered or bothered or harassed. Yes I have been to resorts where this isn’t allowed, but in the DR, and on this beach this is allowed, but it’s very minor.
You can walk along the beach, it’s safe and there are a lot of resorts to check out and see along the way, the local people DR people we met were very friendly.
Pools
Main Pool was good, slightly cooler than the ocean temp, but still warm, from what I could see it was maintained and in good condition. There’s a small pool near the lunch buffet, also looks nice, it’s better suited for doing laps in as it’s small and rectangular.
The Level pool is not so good. This pool should be closed off and repaired. Especially in the circular jetted areas. There are broken jets, missing tiles, missing jets, and missing tiles on the pool floor. It needs to be repaired.
Water park – geared towards small kids, I would say 10 and under will love it. My 12-year-old was bored with it pretty quickly, the slides are short, even though there’s a good variety. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult at all times, 18 yrs. and older. The water park was in good working order for the most part, but some repairs were needed. Plenty of lifeguards monitoring. It’s nice that they have it there, but it would benefit from some larger slides. for the adults, only beer is served here, no other alcoholic drinks. And the food is fine I guess, but it’s just fish sticks and chicken nuggets, I’m not sure why so many people rave about the snack bar at the waterpark.
Entertainment
There’s a show at the theatre every night. They are ok for the most part, geared towards kids around 8:00 PM and then at 9:00 – 9:45 PM pending on the night, you get the main show. I don’t really have a standout one in my head I would recommend, they were all ok. It’s not the best I have seen, but not the worst either. Again you have the DJ pumping music the second the show is done. This is moved into the Casino at around 12:30 AM where you can continue dancing.
We didn’t really visit the casino, but it looked good for the size of the resort. About 5-6 various tables to play at, poker, blackjack, roulette. There was a bar inside with TV screens to watch news and sports. Lots of slot machines, and a lounge area. It was never overly busy inside.
Staff
The staff was fantastic. From check-in to the hostesses, bar staff, wait staff, gardeners, and entertainment everyone was smiling, happy, easy to talk to, etc. I’m not sure what some reviewers are encountering, but from what I saw, and how I saw other people at the resort treat and talk to staff, my guess is that it’s not the staff, it’s you who is the problem. (that goes for anyone who complained)
Our concierge, which comes with the Level experience, Rey Dominguez, was great, very helpful, and always available. I could text him and he would reply. He got us an extra bed for the room, extra hangers, towels and sheets when needed. Was able to secure restaurant reservations and would make an effort to find us on the beach to have a friendly chat and make sure everything was ok.
Overall, a solid resort, would recommend going for families. I don’t think upgrading to the Level is necessary. Unless anything I mentioned piques your interest. I am pretty sure it’s more expensive to upgrade to the level when you are at the resort and would best to get the Level experience booked before you come down if that’s what you want. And again if loud music is an issue at night past midnight for you, stay away from buildings 46, 47, and 41, as they get most of the loud music at night.

I am currently staying at the hotel and the stay is not being very good. The variety of meals at breakfast is not very wide nor is this intended for children do not have nutella and cocoa powder has been mixed with cinnamon for 2 days, I do not know if it is the people who mix it or who it is but my daughter can not drink cocoa milk for that reason. At lunchtime I guess because of the low occupancy of the hotel you can only eat at the Rumba beach restaurant and queues are formed to enter to eat, when you order the drinks they take a long time to bring them, sometimes when you are already finishing eating they bring you the wine, that would have easy solution if they put an area where wine is served. They don’t have much variety of meals designed for children, in the days we’ve been here I didn’t see fries in any law firm, they are always cooked or roasted. In this restaurant Rumba stand out the 2 girls who are at the entrance who are very attentive and friendly. At dinner times you only have the possibility to dine without prior reservation in Merkado restaurant and as I said before not having a high occupancy, during the week they use the dining room of Restaurant La Hacienda which is much smaller and have little variety of meals, also queues are formed to be able to enter to dine and have a table available. The lady who is at the entrance of the Restaurant La Hacienda noting the room number is not very treatable, I saw her arguing with another employee in front of all the customers and talking in a very bad way to the other young girl who was at the entrance, while she went with the customers to bring them to the tables this all happened on Monday night. In this restaurant deserves a special mention the tablemaid Delia who was attentive and quick to bring us the wine. The Bargaritas bar is for me the best in the complex with its 2 very attentive employees and for its variety of cocktails. They should put a printed cocktail menu in the bars since the Qr they currently have and Melia's app are out of date and you order cocktails from that Qr and they don't have them available. The facilities and gardens are very nice and well maintained. Congratulations on that. The beach is beautiful but very annoying for the number of vendors, so we do not use the beach loungers to not be all day saying no thanks. You can only relax on the beach by walking along the shore or taking a bath. The rooms need to be renovated but are comfortable. The Wifi in our room 2906 does not work since Saturday, Sunday and yesterday I went to reception to claim and they told me that they would come today to check it I hope so. Also claim for the replacement of the fridge, which did not happen to refill since Saturday. However, if they solved it very quickly 5 minutes after claiming it at reception they came to fill it and change the phone that did not work. The room cleaning girls if they work very well and the manager of that area is very attentive and always asks if we need anything or can help us.

The first night we arrived so tired that we just wanted to sleep, spoiled air conditioning, an unbearable noise and we could not lower the temperature of 22 degrees, with a baby and a 6-year-old boy. The next day came an operator who was able to fix the temperature rise but not the noise of the air, we were told after walking three times to reception that they changed rooms, finally after two hours of back and forth and having to pack and unpack it in the new room we got it.
Hotel too big for only two buffet food , rich food, three restaurants under reservation that are normal, Italian, Mexican and meat, the Japanese has cost I think remember 56 dollars per person.
On the beach if you are not cunning, you have to fight with the guiris who want to catch 4 hammocks leaving a book or a towel on top of one of them, in the pool I did not see that problem.
The beach is nice, with hardly any seaweed and good animation, very heavy those who want to sell you excursions at all hours, at least there are 30 around there going around.
Although the hotel is huge, there are little trains that take you to the beach making several stops and that is great.
They have SPLASH water park which is great for the kids, they did activities like popcorn cinema, foam party and you can eat right there.
Right inside the splash you have a clean and perfect playground / nursery where undoubtedly the girls who work there are the best hotel, attention to our baby of a spectacular year and affectionate , games for our 6 year old son very fun.
in the rumba restaurant that is on the beach, you have the space room where you can play pool, play 5 or board games mu and fun, clean and tidy, the girl is 10.
We booked a room for the day of departure to shower and were almost about to leave the plane without showering because they had given that same time that room to more people, we even got to enter with the customers inside them, after almost an hour walking with a reception woman and with just 20 minutes to shower 4 people managed to shower.
In short, hotel focused on families with children, everything very clean on the outside, the rooms very improveable in cleaning, the organization of the reception people is bad, instead the animation girls have everything under control.

This is the 3rd January in a row our friends & family, 5 adults and 4 children, vacation in Punta Cana. The first year we stayed 7 days at the Royalton Splash which was really good, the next year we spent 8 days at the Dreams Onyx which was excellent. This year we spent 10 days at the Meliá Caribe which I must say was fairly good. A lot of the positive reviews you can read about this resort are spot on. The grounds and the pools are beautiful, the beach is excellent; we walked along the beach in both directions for a couple km’s and honestly felt like our location was the best and the liveliest. The waterside park was perfect for the kids ages 6-12 and we found that the vast majority of the staff we encountered were excellent and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. My family’s room was great, we had a really nice pool/ocean view which made hanging out during the rain showers quite enjoyable. It did rain quite heavily for 2 of the days we were here. The evening shows were decent with the circus show being the most impressive. We did have some negative experiences during our stay which may have been attributed to a sold out resort but regardless of that they seem like they could be easy fixes by management. - eating at Merkado for dinner was not pleasant due to the high volume of people and limited seating, we recommend having dinner at Rumba which was nearly empty every time we ate there. - the lack of chairs on the beach or around the pool is a problem, you need to secure your spot early in the morning (6:30-7:30). I’ve read other reviews to the contrary but this was definitely the case during our stay, we actually observed a couple altercations over chairs from some frustrated guests. - there were never enough plates at Rumba and standing in line waiting for plates actually became comical for those of us who had been there for a few days. - the food tasted pretty good for the most part but the variety of the meals served at breakfast, lunch and dinner was seriously lacking, it was pretty much the same thing every day at Rumba and every other day at Merkado. - you have to make your a la carte dinner reservations on Sunday morning and unless you get there at the crack of dawn you’ll be standing in line for a couple hours for your chance to eat at one of the 3 a la carte restaurants, the fourth restaurant is a Teppanyaki at an additional cost of $60 USD per person. We ate at Tauro, Hacienda and Rossa; Tauro was our favourite of three. Those easily fixable issues were the reason I didn’t put this resort into the same category as the Royalton Splash. As for the Level option, nothing we observed suggested that you were getting that much more of an experience for the difference in cost, our thoughts were we just would’ve stayed at the Dreams Onyx or a comparable resort for that additional cost.

Dear Mr. Scott, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We're delighted to hear that the beauty of our grounds, pools, and the beach stood out to you during your stay. It's wonderful to know that the water park provided endless fun for the children and that our staff's dedication contributed positively to your experience. The room views you described indeed make for a relaxing atmosphere, even when the weather is less than perfect. We're also pleased that the circus show added a touch of excitement to your evenings. However, we regret to hear about the challenges you faced during mealtimes and with the seating arrangements. Rest assured, we strive to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable gastronomic experience for all our guests and will look into the matters you've raised. While The Level is designed to offer an elevated experience with exclusive amenities, we understand that every guest's perception of value can vary. We appreciate your insights on this service. Your remarks about the variety in our culinary offerings are well-noted. Our goal is to provide a diverse range of flavors and dishes to delight our guests' palates, and we'll consider your feedback as we continue enhancing our menus. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back in the future. Best regards, Juan Jose Amaro Hotel Manager Melia Caribe Beach

We've just got back from 10days. Large family of 18 (8 adults 8 children between 11 and 17 and 2 babies under 2) we personally stayed in the family room beachside block 27.
Cons: Our room wasn't cleaned once. It was tidied and made to look done, but the pillow cases and bottom sheets weren't changed, just the top sheet. There are no pillow protectors, just a thin pillow case. The mattress dips in the middle so is quite uncomfortable. There was glitter confetti on the floor when we arrived and was still there when we left despite me requesting a broom for me to sweep myself as house keeping certainly weren't! (didn't get one) we had to ask for towels daily and for the mini bar to be stocked up of water daily. The food is terrible, you'd expect some repetition being all inclusive but the same thing every single day for breakfast and lunches and small variations for dinner. There are no vegetarian options unless you just want a plate of vegetables or salad. We went to all resturants, I wouldn't bother with any apart from Tauro or Cape Nao. They were the best ones and actually edible. Although again no vegetarian main option for Tauro i had to have a few 'sides' potatoes and steamed veg - yum! All the food is super salty everywhere. The lobby shop absolutely rips you off the prices are crazy high. My daughter was unwell and fainted in the restaurant not one person asked if she was ok or needed anything I had to shout for a server to come over amd ask her to get me some 7-up or coke and I have never seen anyone walk so slow. Another server during the time we were sat next to our 11 yr old in the recovery position came over and asked it we had finsihed with our food so she could clear the table around us. Still no sign of care, first aid assistance noting. The life guard absolutely useless, barely looked at the pool and really enjoyed himself talking to all the locals on the weekends when they flood the pool and surrounded the bar (don't even bother trying to get a drink Friday- Sunday at the swim up bar you will be ignored!)
Pros: The grounds are beautiful, beach is stunning and the maintenance team work incredibly hard everyday. The animation team put a lot of effort in for daily entertainment by the pool/beach. Evening entertainment every night in the lobby (it is a bit naff but it's better then nothing and the kids enjoyed it)
We wouldn't return which is unfortunate as it is absolutely beautiful and has such potential to be amazing. The food and service let it down badly.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We regret to hear about the aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations. It’s concerning to learn about your room experience, as our commitment to cleanliness and comfort is paramount, and we typically pride ourselves on our daily housekeeping service. Regarding the gastronomic experiences, our aim is to offer a variety of options to cater to different tastes, including vegetarian, and we apologize if we fell short of this during your visit. We would have loved that you share these comments with us while you were still staying here. We can assure you that our kitchens and restaurants teams would have offered you options that suit your needs, as we understand that receiving hundreds of people from all over the world daily implies making adjustments to our gastronomic offer. We bear in mind that the tastes and preferences of each person vary drastically. What may be overwhelming flavors for someone may not be enough for others. That is why our team will always have options for our guests. The observations regarding the attentiveness of our staff and the service at the swim-up bar are surprising, as fostering a warm and responsive service culture is crucial to us. We take your comments seriously and will look into these matters to ensure they are addressed. On the other hand, we're pleased that you enjoyed the efforts of our animation team, and that our evening entertainment provided joy to the younger members of your group. We hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Kindest regards, Miguel Diaz Urrutia Hotel Manager Melia Caribe Beach

We stayed at Melia Caribe with our children as well as a couple of friends and their children too.
One of the advantages is its proximity to the airport (about 20 minutes).
The main buffet is very large and full but we preferred the one near the beach because the view is more beautiful and there are fewer people.
The beach is really big and beautiful. Algae are collected every morning and even at noon if necessary. There is a net that holds most of the algae at a good distance from the beach, which makes the water beautiful and there are almost none.
There is a place for children with dds water games and also a swimming pool with water slides. It is really nice as a place and big enough.
The place is quite well maintained, both swimming pools and common areas.
Areas for improvement now... Reservation system for restaurants is simply inefficient! Melia app tells you there is no availability and you are told to go through WhatsApp app. You write and you're not even answered or answered. We had to go to the reception counter a few times to get answers and it was finally after being angry that we finally got reservations for our last evenings!
Also, if people dressed in white stop you at the lobby or call you to give you a welcome gift, do not waste your time. They take you to the nearby resort to show you how beautiful it is because it is also a Melia and they will offer you time sharing and you will waste an hour of your time. They will try to sell you a package of 10 Melia Trips for several thousand dollars including an immediate payment.
The cleaning of the rooms is okay but sometimes the towels were picked up but not replaced. In addition, the fridge was not filled often even on request.
Last point, the locals who come to the resort on weekends... They are very intrusive and you will know that they are at home! In the swimming pool for water slides, they take up a lot of space, jostle down the stairs and do not respect the lifeguards who go on whistling. In the main pool, they take the pitch in front of the bar and stay there for the day. And they leave their drinks on the sides of the pool, which we haven't seen all week. The buffets are also stormed these days too!
In short, a very nice week despite the small points to improve.
We would go back and recommend it.

Me and my family stayed here last week and the best part was the waterpark we met a lifeguard named Ismael and he was so nice otherwise the Dance parties and the theater is where me and my family spent most of our time the scenery was amazing but in the theater it was very hot and it was a lot of walking for how many mistakes the front desk made first they gave me and my sister the same room 2912 which in the end I’m glad they got that room because she said that the drain was clogged and they took her couch out of her room. We thought that our family of 19 was going to close to each other but no our families were spread out even though the building we were put in had nobody in it the food was ok but for the cost of staying here was below the standards I had the only good food i had was at Toro the Mexican restaurant forgot my food and tried saying I didn’t order it and our reservation was at 9 and I didn’t get my food till 11. We only went to the beach one day because it’s a public beach so people are constantly going up to you asking for you to buy things and if you say no they would chase you and if your kids want to go do anything fun you had to pay to do anything besides swim like there was an obstacle course in the ocean and you couldn’t be on there without a life jacket but they charge $20 for one life jacket The rooms were great neat but the room service was not there at all we were there for 5 days and we didn’t get new towels till the day we were leaving and they claim to have fast WiFi but their WiFi wasn’t. there drinks were good but their bars were busy and the bartenders would ask you what you want and walk away and start helping the next person. Overall I wouldn’t recommend you to stay here ever save your money and don’t come here I will never be coming back here even though we made good memories.

We've stayed at Melia for 15 days and it was such a great experience. Room was really deep cleaned everyday, little older furniture, but everything functional. Deluxe room was big, we only missed a drying rack where we could hang wet towels and things from the beach.Only once was our minibar not refilled,so no big deal. The beach was cleaned every day, some sunbeds were broken, but we always found a place to lie down. After the rain at the pool, dirt and water remained under the sunbeds the next day, the only thing that caught our eye was, when people and kids were lying on sunbeds and there were dirty puddles of water under them (the hotel should have deal with this better). The restaurant was not staffed enough when it was full of people and we had to wait here and there for the tables to be cleaned, cutlery and water to be brought, but since we were on holiday, it didn't bother us, but it might bother other people. I am a very picky eater and I was worried about the food, but I always ate well in Rumba, Hacienda and Merkado restaurant. Staff was absolutely amazing, from bartenders, waiters, animators, etc. We really enjoyed our stay.

In general I had a great time in this hotel and it is a good choice value to quality. The hotel garden and beach are beautiful and in perfect shape. The staff is friendly and professional, yet sometimes we had we had difficulties as some of them do not speak English. The rooms are clean and in good condition.
Thanks to “the level” upgrade we had access to exclusive zones like part of the beach, pools and restaurants. “The level” features were excellent especially in riviera restaurant.
Additional feature was private concierge. Jesus A. who was assigned to us did a great job and made our vacation even better.
Unfortunately, we also experienced some disadvantages. This biggest problem is with the sunbeds. People every very morning reserve them with towels and they are empty for a whole day even if anybody appears. Together with not enough number of sunbeds resulted in difficulties with finding a free spot. It would be good if hotel management can find a solution to this problem. Other problems are poor quality of non “the level” restaurants where we got a cold food and the restaurant was not too clean. In the bars the barmans often serve the beverages in paper cups what looks not too good for me.

Dear Mr. Bartek, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. It brings us joy to hear that you found our hotel gardens and beach to be beautiful, and that our staff provided friendly and professional service, which is at the core of our service culture. We're also delighted that your room experience met your expectations with its cleanliness and condition. The Level certainly aims to offer an enhanced experience, and we're glad that the exclusive zones and the Riviera restaurant contributed positively to your stay. On the other hand, we regret to hear about the challenges you faced with the sunbeds and the quality of the gastronomic experiences outside of The Level. While we strive for the highest standards, your comments indicate areas where we can seek to improve. We take note of your observations and will consider them as we continuously work to elevate the guest experience. We're thrilled that your private concierge, Jesus A., was able to make a positive impact on your vacation.
