The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are amasing and very good value for money. The resort is in a very quiet part of Krabi and opposite the Sherriton which makes the resturants nearby more expensive than I expected. It is about 20 minutes in the taxi to the main resort where there are many shops and loads more restaurants. The tours offered by the hotel didn't seem very competitive and we got them much cheaper from a local booking office. Breakfast was ok if you like cold fried eggs and cold everything and we didn't try the resturant for dinner as it has the feel of more of a cafe than resturant but there are some lovely places nearby to eat. The pool is old and could use some attention to clean it up as there is loads of green stuff on the bottom of it. Didn't see anyone maintaining the pool. We did enjoy our stay here and felt overall it was excellent value for money.

Clean and big rooms with micro and big fridge. The pool is really dirty! The breakfast is bearly acceptable. Close to 7 eleven and good restaurants. You have to cross the Sheraton hotel to get to the beach. The beach itself is wonderful. Far from Ao Nang And Krabi.

When we arrived in the Check Inn Resort Krabi we only planned on staying three nights. Not by accident our holiday stretched to 10 glorious days! (We even came back a day early from our stay at one of the local islands because we felt so "spoiled.")
The large, light, airy rooms were impeccable and the beds were great. Normally when we travel, my husband and I don't often bother with maid service but I have to say we took full advantage; the bathroom and the tiles sparkled and everything was so fresh and fragrant! Although we didn't use it much, the kichenette was really nice and having a fridge to keep our fruits and drinks cold was an added bonus.
The beach located across the street was beautiful and quiet, unlike the busy AoNang that we had just come from. It's a great place to get away from the crowds but still have access to plenty of good restaurants, bars and shops. It was wonderful coming in from the emerald, salty Andaman sea and hitting the crystal clear pool for a swim and a drink, then hanging out on the balcony before dinner.
But, what I have to say really made our stay at the Check Inn incredible was the personalized service. The manager, Christopher, spoke fluent English as well as 11 other languages. (I was a little skepical about this but I swear he greeted every person that walked through the door in their native tongue.) Despite the fact that we'd been in Thailand two weeks we were miserable picking up the Thai language and most of the other people in the service industry that we met were unable to speak English so fluently. I mean travel books help but to get the low down from a real person was great. Christopher patiently answered all our questions and never made us feel like we were a bother. He or Ann, another incredibly helpful person, arranged all our transportation, tours, and day trips for a very reasonable price. They even helped us make reservations for the next leg of our journey.
I would consider my husband and I to be "seasoned" travelers having been throughout North and South America, Europe and New Zealand but I have to say we have never had the personalized service like we did at the Check Inn Resort Krabi. It started to feel like home. We are not ones that typically go back to an area that we've been to but I have to say we have already discussed returning next year. We'll be back!

We stayed for 10 days at the end of travelling around Malaysia and Thailand. Lovely room, great value for the standard of accommodation, very clean, not much going on in the hotel but the are places to walk to locally, great little restaurants across the road. The beach is lovely, not many ppl on it but you do have to walk through the Sheraton Hotel to get to it as the walk through the woods isn't always safe, especially after sunset. Lots of reviews say the pool is dirty, it isn't, thats just the green colour of the tiles. It's pretty remote but for what you're paying, to totally worth it. Breakfast isn't much to speak of, in fact I can't remember eating it!
For what you pay, Check Inn is great, if you want to pay five times as much, move to the Sheraton.

Very large and clean rooms with a small kitchen area (fridge, water boiler, microwave), but the common areas of the hotel don't get enough attention (a bit run down). I think the hotel offers affordable accommodation in an area full of luxury hotels.
The area is quiet and there are not many people on a beach (just walk through Sheraton hotel to get to the beach), so those looking to get away from the busy beach & 'city' of Ao Nang, this is a good location.
There is an excellent thai-restaurant next to the hotel, which has much much better food than Sheraton hotel. There is also a nice thai-massage place next to the restaurant.

Just returned from a stay at the Check inn Resort Krabi.
If you are traveling on a budget this is a great place to stay. The rooms are huge with 2 queen size beds sofa table & balcony.
There's a bath with shower above & a basic kitchen with kettle, toaster , microwave & fridge freezer.
The previous comments in reviews about the swimming pool have been resolved & the pool is now clean & very usable for a refreshing dip.
The beach is a short stroll away & is beautiful.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is clean, comfortable, air conditioned & cheep then you won't go far wrong with the Check inn.

You could dance in the room, it was so large. Internet connection was good. The pool needed some serious cleaning. There was a strange smell coming from the jungle/forrest behind the hotel that was naseating. The breakfast was okay. Good value for the money. We cut through the Sheraton every day to head down to the beach. Great restaraunt on the beach!!!! Good area to get away from everything. A small strip mall nearby with good restaurants. About a 30 minute trip into Ao Nang which we had thought was much closer.

This property has excellent potential and with the right management and staff could really be a first class property
. The rooms are huge and well equipped with a large fridge, Microwave, water boiler , large TV, hifi system etc but is let down by poor housekeeping and bed linen becoming tired. The pool needs a good clean to bring back to being in good condition. The breakfasts were laid out buffet style and the advice would be to eat early whilst the food is still warm and before becoming sunburned. A little work and attention to detail is all the property needs. Treat it as an apartment instead of hotel and it becomes good value.

"Try to avoid getting a ground floor rooms as they do not have balconies (second and third floors do). Also, despite the tinted glass on the windows, one has significantly less privacy because people can walk right outside your room."
