Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A real oasis in the desert. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, excellent food, refreshing dip in the pool, and COLD BEER! A definite overnight stopver when travelling through the centre. A relaxing atmosphere to "recharge the battery of life".

Foto's suggest differently, its just an average camper place like many others in the middle of nowhere. Good to stay overnight for visiting the devils Marbles. Amenities in line with rest of the camping place don't expect to much.We didn't had dinner.

We were booked into the camping ground at the Devils Marbles. It was just a car park. Not tent friendly. But the hotel 5 minutes south has a grassy area for tents, running water, friendly staff and town prices. And not that much more expensive than the compacted dirt at the reserve.

We travelled as a couple with one sibbling. We camped in our camper while our sister camped in a tent. Our group had dinner at the pub which was very good. One person had the Beef curry which was very tasty, a secon person had beef cheeks which were so tender and juicy. The last person had Nasi Goreng. The bathrooms are adequate however a little bit longer on the light switch would be nice as I was halfway through my shower when the light went off. There were also some tradesmen who started their business quite loudly on their phones before 6am in the morning. It is understandable that they long term stayers are the bread and butter, but maybe tradesmen could using the dining area as an office early in the mornings and late at night.

Great little bush pub, basic but clean room and the meals were huge and delicious. Highly recommend this if you're travelling through the Center and are not keen to stop in Tennant Creek to avoid the crime and anti social behaviour.

The Devils Marbles Hotel at Wauchope is the ideal location to stay to explore the amazing Karlu-Karlu Devils Marbles which is just 10 kilometers to the north. I have stayed here twice now, and swung by for a great bacon and egg sandwich on other occasions. This pub/restaurant is legendary for its food and it has a lovely small restaurant for seating inside, with art exhibition/sales by local artists, as well as a surprisingly lovely garden outside with cooling lawns, bird baths and shady trees with seating. While the bedrooms are pretty basic and not gorgeous, they have everything one needs, with decent showers, good beds, and air conditioning. Parking for guests is through a side gate and out the back, where vehicles feel safe and secure. There are also caravans and RVs parked out the back, and so with different sorts of guests as well as locals, this makes for an interesting place to stop for a few nights to sample outback life, mining history (the wolfram mines of Wauchope - interesting side note is that this wolfram was mined and sent to Oodnadatta on camels many years ago) and of course the legendary Devils Marbles - which is why I visited - because there are at least five separate walking trails meandering throughout the stones, which are outstandingly beautiful. Combined with multiple days of short to medium length strolls/walks through the stones with regular returns to the Devils Marbles Hotel for delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, what could be better? I'll do it again once it cools down. My last visit was just a couple of weeks ago when I departed Alice Springs at 4am so I could time my arrival at the Devils Marbles Hotel perfectly to reward myself with a breakfast of a freshly prepared bacon and egg sandwich. Oh it was lovely! Don't drive past this place. Time your visit up the Stuart Highway with stopping here for at least two nights. You won't regret it.

Hi Linda, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us such a warm and positive review, we are glad you love the hotel as much as we do! And ofcourse the amazing landscape we are lucky enough to have surround us. The bacon and egg toastie is definitely a crowd favourite, you won't find another toastie quite like it (& we definitely recommend adding cheese to take it to a new level). Hope we see you again shortly for some more meals and fun times. Cheers, Samantha & Heather

We recently had a wonderful weekend here celebrating a friends 50th. A part from a tall, bearded ill-mannered barman who would be better suited to working in an abbatoir than in hospitality, everything was great.

Zac was doing as was expected from him as anyone would of done. Members in your party decided to bring there own alcohol in to a licensed premise which is against the law. He confronted them and they weren't happy. Also we noticed that wine was also hidden in yeti cups and drank on the premises. He did his job which is what i expect from him.

Devils Marbles was a great stop over on the way to Alice Springs. Staff were very organised and attentive. Food was delicious. Lovely outdoor dining area as well as indoor space. We stayed in a motel room which was a very basic donga. It was very clean and comfortable but is getting shabby. Accomodation not up to the standard of the dining experience.

Awesome spot to rest your weary head. Family room was very large, clean and had everything we needed. Food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Lovely garden area, toys for children, and even a pool. And a short drive to the Devils Marbles which is incredible in every sense. Thanks to the friendly staff member who returned my son’s puppy teddy he’d left on the bed!
