Detailed Reviews
I just came back from week stay at Hotel Don Andres, and I had a perfect experience there.
It is within walking distance to great restaurants, the strip of bars and Sosua beach!
Currently curfew is 9pm, and as such it is quite as a mouse after that so restful sleep is easy.
The pool here is maintained perfectly, crystal clear water.
The attached restaurant bar and restaurant is attended all day and night by the owners and their staff, delicious coffee and fresh food cooked to order.
I was lucky enough to enjoy owner Chris' monthly European home style beef stew, I loved it.
I really enjoyed hanging for a drink at the outdoor bar, where I met some great locals who stroll in and enjoy the music, drinks, food and ambiance. (HOLA Gregorio!).
There are lots of options on where to stay in Sosua, but I was so lucky to find and stay at Hotel Don Andres.

+1
I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The owner Chris will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. The staff is top notch with the restaurant being a great value. The only reason I could not give an extra star was because of the poor wi-fi and lukewarm water from the shower.

As this place used to be owned by friends of ours, while on vacation in Sosua we went by to check it out and have lunch. Small restaurant with an active bar occupied exclusively by expats waiting their turn to play pool at the table at the other end. Lengthy menu. My wife chose croque monsieur, and I ordered toast with grilled mushrooms. What I got was a ham and cheese sandwich with one small mushroom on top, chopped into tiny pieces. Neither my wife's sandwich nor mine had any taste. If what we ordered is any example, would recommend avoiding this place for a meal.

This small hotel offers good value and excellent service. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I stayed with my mother in August 2011 and we really enjoyed our time. They have a nice bar and good food. If you want you can ask for dutch specialities and the owner is ready to prepare things on request if he can find the right ingredients. As a Dutch person living in Haiti I did not expect to be able to eat dutch pea soup and home made kroketten in my holiday in the Dominican Republic, but I could and they were very good ! I can really recommend this place.

Spent 10 days in a 2 bdr. suite. 1 bdr only had ac. That was as advertised. The bathrooms had been redone recently. The rest was dated but clean and functional. Overall it was just fine and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I lived in sosua for 8 years. henri & bertico became friends. before I moved from st croix I visited sosua many times. always stayed at don andres. would call a day or two before I came.(had a restaurant) never knew when I could get away. Henri always found room for me. I had no spanish & Bert would teach me 3 words a day, about 1,00 words a month. an example of how they treat everyone. I made the mistake of moving to florida 3 yrs ago. moving back in june. will stay at don andres til I find a permanent place. the beer always cold, food always good. I know, I'm an award winning chef .the rooms clean & prices stay reasonable. you cannot beat the staff, even in a 5 star hotel. I don't know if this counts as a review or not, but it is what I feel. go there & see what I mean!! Tamas Janda ( your trip calander does'nt go back far enough!)

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and there is not one bad thing to say. Rooms are large 2 bedroom apartments. Plenty of space. Walking distance to beach. No need to eat out. The on site restaurant is truly amazing. Everything on the menu is great. The staff treats everyone like family. From owner Henery, managers Cleo and Dickie to the entire hotel staff. Honestly this is one hotel where I have never heard the word NO. A true hidden jem.

"The hotel has refurbished at least half of its rooms and they look much prettier than the others. Do ask for them. Some rooms still have wifi access (from the bar) but most do not. The hotel is busy to install in-room wifi."Read full review
