My husband and 2 yo daughter decided to come here after spending 3 days at a massive all inclusive resort. Where we came from was busy and while the rooms were fine we couldn’t get anything to our room which is crucial when your 2 yo decides to melt down every time you try to eat out. We had fun there but it was stressful as my husband and I had to take turns eating at the buffet line and I had to smuggle fruit and water back to our room so we had something for my daughter if she woke up early. And forget enjoying a glass of wine. When we got to this resort I was immediately met with a sense of calm. After begging for a glass of wine at the other place, we were handed welcome drinks and allowed to check in in the most calm way. We were given a tour and our bags were taken care of. Our room was unbelievable. 2 stories of windows with 2 bedrooms facing the beach and a full kitchen complete with a coffee and espresso machine. My daughter had had an accident on her blankie the night before while sleeping and when I asked about laundry services found out we had our own washer dryer. Had a huge bowl of complimentary fruit that was delicious. After trying to smuggle bananas for my daughter in my purse at the other resort, i would have paid for fruit and they willingly gave it to us. And do get me started on the complimentary breakfast. It was so good and they delivered it to our room. For the first time during our trip, my husband and I ate dinner together (after my daughter went to bed full and happy from her fruit and grilled cheese) after ordering room service and ate watching the sunset on our balcony overlooking the ocean. The next day we enjoyed the pool and the following day the beach. My husband loved the fish and my daughter loved the shallow cove created by the rocks where she could splash and play. Everyone was so friendly and nice and for the first time during our trip I felt like I could breathe and relax. Marta additionally checked in on us and really made our stay superb. Would highly recommend and will def return.

I was traveling with a colleague on business in the Dominican Republic and decided to stay at the Ocean Club in Sosua. The main reason for our choice was the proximity to Puerto Plata airport as we had business appointments in Santiago de los Caballeros and the hotel was easily accessible both after arrival and before departure.
The hotel itself impressed us very much. The complex is beautifully maintained, and the rooms are spacious and luxuriously decorated. Of particular note is the private beach, which belongs directly to the hotel complex. Here you can explore the tropical underwater world while snorkeling – a special highlight for every Nature Guide.
The hotel's restaurants are also top-notch and offer a diverse range of high-quality food. Thanks to our Marriott BonVoy membership, we received a room upgrade, which made the stay even more enjoyable. However, it is important to mention that prices are in the upscale range, but this is absolutely justified given the quality and service offered.
Unfortunately, there are also some drawbacks that have to do with the surroundings of the hotel. The beaches outside the complex are not very attractive, and the town of Sosua unfortunately has the character of a typical "Ballermann district". This environment does not fit the upscale atmosphere of the Ocean Club at all and has somewhat clouded our overall impression. For this reason, we will probably not stay at this hotel again.
However, for guests who plan to spend their entire stay at the hotel complex and do not explore the surrounding area, the Ocean Club is fully recommended. The amenities and service within the resort are excellent and provide a high level of comfort.

I would like to start by saying that this property is very nice, well maintained thru out the day and many staff members greeted us through out our stay, reminding us that they were at our disposal for anything we needed. It’s on par with what we expected from Marriott Luxury Collection brand. The room we booked was a 1 bedroom suite ocean view and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a little pricey but it was a huge apartment. Too bad we were only there for 3 night. A shout out to Yoemi, Nelfi, Angel and Alonso. These guys work by the restaurant/main pool area and they made sure we had everything we needed, be it towels, pool beds, food, nice coconut water and drinks by the pool. I would return to stay at Ocean Club Sosua because it was a wonderful stay for us.

We had a lovely, very relaxing visit with another couple at this resort. We stayed in a three bedroom, 3 1/2 bath suite with a full kitchen, facing the ocean.
The greatest asset this resort has is its people. EVERYONE was very friendly and did their best to make us feel special.
One of their guest relations managers, Agustina, was a fabulous hostess. She made sure we were taken care of. Agustina is a wonderful ambassador.
The quality of the food also exceeded our expectations. We dined numerous times at both restaurants. One of our friends has quite a list of allergies and rarely travels because of that. She gave Agustina a list of her food allergies and we had no trouble finding her a proper meal.
The only reason I didn’t give the resort a “5” was due to a number of maintenance issues with the suite. However I should add that every issue was promptly taken care of once we brought it to management’s attention.
The beach has ample shaded lounge areas as does the pool. It was another thing we didn’t have to worry about, getting up early and running down to secure a spot at the beach.
If you are looking for a quiet place where you can relax, this resort is for you.

I wanted to take my adult daughter on a short 4 night vacation to celebrate a special occasion for her. We wanted somewhere that wasn’t too far from the airport, where we could get good food, 2 bedrooms and also didnt have to deal with a crowded pool area. We could not have chosen a better option than The Ocean Club! It was a 4 hour direct flight from Toronto. Our package came with VIP transportation which was great- we were met as soon as we got off the plane and escorted through Customs and to baggage claim . It was all very quick which we appreciated. We were driven to the hotel which took only about 15 minutes. The hotel is quite beautiful . We had a bit of an issue upon checkin but they did try to right it. Every single staff member we encountered during our stay was very friendly and helpful . The resort was very quiet while we were there and there was never an issue with getting seating around the pool or on the beach. Perfect place to relax. My daughter used the spa and gym and was happy with both. We had booked a 2 bedroom duplex and it was perfect- lots of space as we each had our own room and bathroom and a great view. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning. The food at the resort was so good we had no desire to go elsewhere. Most nights we ate at the main restaurant but we enjoyed one night at the upper level restaurant ( can’t remember the name) with a 5 course tasting menu. Excellent all around. The only disappointment was that the beach grill was not open during our stay.
Special mention to Marta and her colleagues who were very helpful. We wanted to buy a few items for the room and they even arranged a driver to go to the local grocery and purchase the items for us!
We would definitely return and recommend without hesitation!

The was a girl’s trip with my childhood friend. Our time at The Ocean Club exceeded our expectations. The endless pool, the crash of the ocean waves, the serenity and luxury feel of this hotel were spectacular. The rooms are expansive, bright, well-appointed, extremely comfortable and well air conditioned. The hotel concierge and staff were communicative, inviting and informative. The two onsite restaurants were outstanding in aesthetic and food quality. Particularly, the thought and attention that went into the 4 course tasting menu at Agaji - showcasing dishes unique to the Dominican Republic.
For other adventures, the hotel supplies a brochure equipped with a plethora of excursions the concierge can organize for you.
Overall, you would be hard-pressed to find a stay quite as unique in that it checks off all the boxes, so-to-speak - if you’re looking for quality, serenity, and an unpretentious sophistication.

I’m not a person to write reviews, but after the amazing 5 nights we had at The Ocean Club, I had to!
Their hospitality blew me away. Before we even arrived, the communication lines were open. Our transfer from the airport was set up by the hotel and was seemless. We arrived to a welcome drink in the lobby (with or without rum), a beautiful fruit basket, gift bag, and welcome note in the room as well. This trip was to celebrate my 35th birthday, and on our last night, they had made a birthday cake for me complete with my name! When my boyfriend hurt his knee, Marta (the head butler) showed up with a bag from the pharmacy where they had purchased ibuprofen and icy hot for him.
The entire team was amazing. Elon is absolutely lovely and Marta was so quick to respond to anything we needed… wether it be a cab to Cabarete, laundry detergent, or to book an excursion. There are numerous excursions and activities in the area, and Marta sent us a full list and set up everything for us when we ventured away from the hotel.
Our one bedroom unit had a full kitchen, and it’s an easy 10-15 minute walk to the grocery store. They’re happy to drive you to the store as well! Carlos waited on us every evening that we ate at the hotel, and he always remembered our drink order. Sonia and Belissa at the bar were so great to chat with as well!
You’re in walking distance to numerous local restaurants and bars if you want to experience local Dominican culture. Side note: If you do venture out, make sure to have cash or ask about payment options before ordering. Some local establishments do not take cards.
Oh, you’re also in a perfect place to watch the sunset each evening.

From start to finish the staff at The Ocean Club made me feel at home, safe and happy. The “rooms” are not only rooms they are entire living spaces that are clean, have every amenity from a full kitchen to a washer/dryer. The grounds are kept impeccable. Every part of this property is so well thought out. There are several options for seating/laying by every pool and by the ocean.
The food at the restaurant is delicious. There are several menu options that would appeal to various people. Again, the staff made every meal memorable. They are attentive and kind.
Paddle boards, snorkeling, kayaking and cliff jumping are available at the resort at at no extra charge.
The spa is beautiful and relaxing as well.
I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is peaceful and beautiful.

From the moment we arrived until the end of our stay, the staff treated us exceptionally well. The hotel restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with beautifully presented and delicious food—our waiter, Juan, was outstanding! The beach and pool staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
Our room was spacious with a stunning view of the pool and beach. The sandy beach was a highlight, with fish swimming playfully around our feet, and both the pool and beach areas were delightfully uncrowded.
There’s even a helicopter landing zone, presumably for flights to STI airport. For variety, there are several restaurants within 2-3 blocks if you feel like exploring beyond the hotel’s offerings.
The hotel also features valet service, a spa, cozy fireplaces to enjoy at night, hot tubs, and a responsive WhatsApp service for immediate assistance or updates. The attention to detail and quality of service made our stay unforgettable!

Lets start off if I could give negative review it would be a -10. My room was not the cleanest. There was hair in the shower and on the floor. I figured well it is what it is and carried on with my evening. I go down to the restaurant ordered a drink $18 US. I ordered a meal (steak) the customer service was horrible needless to say I had to get the waitress attention as she played on her phone to then get another bill $140US for that said steak. I just thought ok what you are charging a night for this place I expected ALOT more. I am not off to a great start of my vacation and figured its day one tomorrow will be better. So I turned in for the night. The first day I wake up I decided to go to the gym. Well, upon entering the gym area there was wall debris on the floor few of the machines did not work. So I found someone to report these issues too. I was basically brushed off. I then requested a bottle of water and was told it would be $8...my immediate reaction was were is the free water. So I went to go back to my room and now the elevator is down. I was like wow it can get worse. This place is the worst ran establishment in the area as I spoke to others away from this hotel. Did I mention besides myself there were 3 other quests staying here. I tried multiple times to speak to a manager or supervisor and needless to say to this day not one has ever contacted me. It was so bad here I had to check out after 2 days and went to the Casa Marina Beach. It may not show as nice but the customer service was excellent and it was clean. So to anyone planning on staying at this hotel DO NOT PRE PAY AT ALL. They will not refund my remaining 6 days. I travel a lot and I am so disappointed in the Marriott for not standing behind there customer service.

Dear Mr. Jordan, Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. My name is Ane, and I serve as the General Manager at The Ocean Club. We met on your day of arrival, where I had the opportunity to personally express my apologies for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay, particularly the temporary closure of the gym due to necessary maintenance works, for 60 minutes only. I personally explained that we offer complimentary water in all rooms, gym, spa, pool, and beach, along with additional complimentary amenities such as organic coconuts and popsicles provided twice a day. It's important to note that premium bottled water and premium imported cuts in our restaurants do incur a charge, as The Ocean Club, Costa Norte is not an all-inclusive resort. Regarding your departure, I had the chance to reiterate our policy on prepaid non-refundable reservations, emphasizing their special rates and non-refundable nature. Despite this, I offered an alternative, a credit for future stays or for use in our food and beverage outlets. Unfortunately, these options were declined by yourself, with the comment, "You don't know who I am." Mr. Jordan, I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your trip and found a suitable place for you. My offer still remains on the table, and if you would like to give us the opportunity to welcoming you back to our hotel, we would be delighted. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly, I will be happy to assist. Best regards from Costa Norte, Ane General Manager

The spa was priced like a high end hotel in a major city. However, the spa experience was totally worth it. There are two options for the breakfast and both were hot and delicious.
Dear Ms Jeanine,
We have continental breakfast included, however there is a restaurant open from 7:30 am - 10:30 pm and you can charge the bill to your hotel room.
Warmly,
