I am a frequent user but infrequent reviewer on Tripadvisor. But once in a while you come across a place so exceptional it would be a tremendous disservice to everyone else to not share how special your stay was. Casa Veintiuno exceeded every expectation of ours. The location is perfect, a short walk to the beach and town center, yet secluded enough to feel like a private residence. The grounds are impeccably manicured, and the rooms are spotless. The food we were able to enjoy was some of the best we have had throughout the entire Caribbean. And our hosts Saskia and Marc have ensured every aspect of our stay was perfectly catered. Do yourself a favor and stop your search now for a place to stay in Sosua.

Seeing Casa21 on social media instantly made us want to visit and so we booked a stay for our anniversary but little dod we know expectations would be exceeded in ALL aspects. (Wife and I travel quite a bit and are very particular of places we visit) Saskia and Marc are amazing hosts and truly make you feel welcomed as part of the family. From day 1 of arriving it was exceptional service from the whole staff and they even had our room decorated in celebration of our anniversary which was an unexpected but welcoming surprise. With Covid about safety was a top priority for us and Casa21 let’s you know ahead of time all the protocols and safety policies they have in place. Rooms are sanitized regularly, staff wears masks, tables have been separated to comply with social distancing, the list goes on. Point is when you arrive you feel at ease, like you’re in a covid proof bubble lol Now onto the food... the food is OMG delicious (seriously not exaggerating) everything we tried was fantastic. It was like having gourmet meals at home everyday. A truly delightful experience and one that we will certainly experience again.

My husband and I just got back from another wonderful stay at Casa Veintiuno. This was not our fist time staying but this recent trip confirmed why it is one of our most favorite places! Casa Veintiuno has it all, amazing food, amazing drinks, wonderful wine selection, attentive personalized service, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms all on the beautiful north coast of the DR. We stayed in the Mystique Suite and our time there allowed us to decompress and be spoiled.
The owners Marc and Saskia take great pride in offering their clientele the best service possible. Any request that you might have is taken care of, and the service is just outstanding. Breakfasts are amazing and lovingly prepared. Days by the pool, drinking hand crafted cocktails are what a vacation is for. For dinner there’s no need to leave as Casa Veintiuno’s restaurant, which is open to the public at night, is the highest rated restaurant in the area. Fresh, delicious food is served in a romantic atmosphere and is a tremendous value.
The north coast too has so much to offer and gives the chance of seeing the real DR! It has a wide array of beaches, historic Puerto Plata, beautiful mountains, zip lines, water adventures, bohemian beach towns, and even a monkey sanctuary. We have traveled all around the DR and will take the north coast and Casa Veintiuno over an all inclusive in Punta Cana any day.

My wife and I repeated our honeymoon trip from 8 years ago at Casa 21 in January of 2022. It was as amazing as we remembered.
The room was beautiful, comfortable, clean. A house keeper quietly straightened the room each day as we enjoyed breakfast by the pool. The room had a Nespresso machine, minibar/stocked minifridge, large bathtub, and so many little touches/amenities.
The restaurant was outstanding. The included breakfast was delicious and generous. Fresh fruit juices and fruit, great coffee, pastries and breads, meat, cheese, eggs and more. For lunch and dinner, the ceviches were awesome. The fresh greens, vegetables, seared tuna were excellent. They had wonderful seafood, and an amazing homemade pasta while we were there. Excellent cocktails and nice wine selection.
They were very willing to provide other recommendations throughout the town, but we would choose to eat there whenever possible (they are closed two days a week for lunch/dinner).
Marc and Saskia (and their staff) are warm, inviting, attentive, and kind. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great trip. They are happy to recommend various restaurants, activities, how to get to a different beach, book you a cab, etc. They are very careful with COVID restrictions/best practices.
We had a couples massage in the outdoor private gazebo at Casa 22 (the adjacent property connected by a private gate, they manage it as well). The massages and the property were great. Saskia made all arrangements. Too easy.
You have access to the pools at both Casa 21 and Casa 22. It is very quiet, private, relaxed, excellent food - we will be back! I remember reading all of these positive reviews prior to our initial trip 8 years ago, wondering if this could even be real. Yes, its real! Book a week and enjoy!

This is actually mainly a superb restaurant with 3 boutique style accomodations on site.
As I was very disappointed with my originally booked hotel downtown I moved over to Casa Veintiuno to find great and very personal hospitality. The booking machine did some mistakes but it was taken care of.
My room #3 has a main room with a very comfy bed, excellent sheets and linens, a big TV with hundreds of channels, coffee maker, fan, aircon, etc.. Then there is a next room like a huge wardrobe with a sofa, mini bar, safe, table, another fan, places to hang and store your clothes. From there you get into a fine bathroom with a walk-in shower, the best towels I've had in a long time and great products for body hygiene that are included. Everything is clean and well maintained, too many nice details to name them all. A place you just love to stay.
Out of your room you will find big spaces to lounge and chill inside or out.
The restaurant serves you a individually crafted big breakfast, lunch and dinner options are from Wednesday to Sunday. Dining is within the best you can get over here for your money, They use fresh products, you can taste the difference!
So, don't choose to go here if you want cheap. This is not the place to bring a different lady every night, it's registered guests only. This is a place to calm down and enjoy a very personal, familiar service.
Beware, they have 3 friendly dogs. Dogs bark sometimes, it's what they do. Also they don't mind a cuddle here and there.

Well, all I can say is that this was an amazing experience! This is a boutique hotel with a gourmet restaurant right on site.
We have just spent the last three days at this unique property being taken care of by Saskia and Marc, the on-site owners. Folks, this is the real deal! You have no idea how pleasant it is to witness the care and concern of people who live where they work! No detail is too small to be overlooked, and then improved on.
This jewel box of a hotel will blow you away... just three suites, with an adjoining five rooms next door... means you get the care and attention that makes your stay enjoyable. Our family had a delightful time just talking, relaxing, swimming in the pool, and having fun. Meanwhile, all the real work of hospitality went on effortlessly, behind the scenes.
The food is amazing, with cook to order custom breakfast included. Lunch and dinner is available onsite at the restaurant here, which has a well deserved local reputation as a quiet, conversational oriented gourmet restaurant, in which fine dining is appreciated and then elevated to an art form.
We will return soon and highly recommend this Hotel and restaurant to all who appreciate hospitality and fine dining.

Wow! How refreshing and wonderful it was to stay at Casa Veintiuno, especially during COVID times. We can’t recommend Casa Veintiuno enough, and we are so happy we chose it to celebrate our anniversary. We are very familiar with the DR and all it has to offer, and we feel that Casa Veintiuno is the ideal choice. The service is the best, very personalized and attentive, just ask and you will receive. The food/drinks/wine selection is AMAZING and offers a very good value. The breakfasts that are served are delightful and are a wonderful way to start the day. The rooms are very comfortable and unique, and the ambience is refreshing and therapeutic. Relaxing by the pool surrounded by beautiful landscaping with a mojito is epitome of Caribbean relaxation.
The location too is ideal, close to the beach which is excellent for absorbing a bit of local culture, yet a peaceful escape to come home too. The north coast (which we much prefer over Punta Cana) has several very beautiful beaches, no seaweed there, and there are many options for things to do ….that is if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful surroundings at Casa Veintiuno.
This was our first trip after being completely vaccinated, and I have to say I felt extremely comfortable and secure. With only three rooms Casa Veintiuno is the ideal spot. The safety procedures that were put in place were impressive and very appreciated. In fact we were so pleased that we are taking my whole family to Casa Veintiuno this winter for family vacation. We are also very surprised at the low case rate in the DR, and how seriously the country takes the responsibility to keep everyone as safe as possible, especially in the tourist area where almost everyone is vaccinated.
And of course we have to thank Saskia and Marc for all the wonderful attention that truly made our anniversary a very special occasion. We will not forget it, it was such a special week, especially our last day and dinner. Thank you. We had a wonderful time, and look forward to returning.
Do yourself a favor and make Casa Veintiuno your next vacation destination. You will not be disappointed.

I was looking for an upscale great, experience for my wife's first time to the Dominican Republic and Casa Veintiuno was perfect. Sosua is lovely but it does have its seedier side and I wanted to avoid that. The B&B's location is one block off the main street and a little outside of the town itself but also very convenient and close to one of the main beaches (5 minutes away). The hotel is spotless - so clean we felt bad tracking in sand from the beach! Mark & Saskia are amazing innkeepers; it's clear they care deeply about their guests having the best possible experience. My wife has an egg allergy and Mark prepared an amazing breakfast for both of us. Thank you Casa Veintiuno for helping to make our stay perfect!

Casa Veintiuno has to be about my most favorite hotel ever. We are fortunate because we’ve had the opportunity to go several times, and it still keeps getting better and better. It provides a wonderful tropical relaxing vibe that takes you to a new level of relaxation. On top of that the owners Saskia and Marc treat everyone like family. And on top of that the food and drink are stellar!! I mean they are really really good! The restaurant is open to the public in the evenings and is the highest rated restaurant in the area. Breakfast and lunch is just for guests and it is just as good. All the rooms are beautiful. This last trip we stayed in Suite 3 and loved it. The bed was so comfortable and the whole space was very inviting. There’s lots of games, books, and a small workout place as well. I wish we could have stayed a week as there is a lot to do in the area. We love to try new places but for the DR it just doesn’t get better than Casa21.

Look no further for anywhere else to stay! Mark and Saskia are warm and welcoming hosts! There staff is hard working, friendly and accommodating. We were nervous to travel during the current health situation but Saskia and Mark made us feel protected and secure with their own stringent protocols. Be sure to have breakfast and as many meals as you can at the property. Absolutely delicious food!! Pineapple ravioli and Belgian chocolate mousse are not to be missed. You can't compare our Casa Veintiuno with apartments. This is a hotel and we have our own restaurant. Our rooms don't have a microwave. Each room does has a mini bar.
