I would give this resort 3.5 stars if I could, it was better than average and a unique experience. The resort was beautiful and secluded in the middle of the jungle and the staff were great, but there were some things that need improving that I have listed below. We came to stay here as part of our honeymoon after...

The trip getting there is a little logistically challenging, but worth the hurdles you have to go through. We took the regional bus from Cancun. The bus ride was comfortable and easy, plus it was about a tenth of the price of an airline ticket. My wife and I had a great time with some type of adventure coordinated for...

We went to the Explorean with my sister and her husband. Not quite sure what it would be like, although we knew it would be very different from any vacations we had been on in the past. We have traveled pretty extensively, at many 5 star resorts, and this was absolutely over the top. The resort is simple, and beautiful....

This is the most wonderful hotel for relaxing and exploring beautiful ruins in Mexico. The hotel organizes activities for you with 5 stars guides who take you making kayak, doing rappel, cycling to the ruins. It is truly an adventure going there. There is neither internet signal nor TV so you really get disconnected from civilization and connect yourself with...

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Explorean in November, 2011. (sorry for the lateness of the review!) We used the Living Social deal and had an absolutely wonderful time. We are both introverts, but by the end of our stay we ended up traveling to Tulum for a couple days with another couple, who were...

Very modern and well set, excellent rooms, services, facilities, pool, etc. Works on an all inclusive mode, and restaurant is very good. Excellent if you wish to rest for a few days. The compound is large and you have to walk up and down for some rooms. Better try the ones at level with central facilities, although the ones farther...

We had purchased the Living Social deal and really felt like we were getting half the service and experience because of it. Pros: this is a place we would never have thought to go and the experience of the jungle around us was amazing. We loved having nothing to do but relax and enjoy each other, it has since become...

after reading the past reviews, we decided to rent a car and drive to the resort from Cancun. We were nervous because we never drove in a foreign country and we knew our directions were not great. It was easy - take the road out of Cancun toward Tulum. Stay on that road until you see the sign for the...

Let me start off this review by saying, that this was by far the best vacation I have ever been on. From the beautiful facilities to the unbelievably hospitable staff, this place is truly a diamond in the rough. At first, we were hesitant to vacation in a small town in Mexico, but we are truly glad we did. We...
