Bardia Wildlife Resort is located on the bank of a tributary of the Karnali river, directly opposite Bardia National Park. We pride ourselves in giving our guests the complete Bardia wildlife experience. At our resort you’ll find an assortment of traditional Tharu-style cottages set amongst beautiful landscaped gardens designed to mirror the Bardia National Park and which provide much of the organic produce we use to cook delicious Nepali dishes all year round. The resort rests on the edge of a tributary of the Karnali river, only ten minutes walk from the park headquarters. The many birds that fly over our garden and the surprise visit from wild animals have almost changed our resort into a park itself. Our resort, established in 1994, prides itself on employing strictly local guides therefore keeping your experience genuine. The ten huts, set among a beautiful garden are furnished with comfortable single and twin beds, are decorated in traditional Tharu style have attached batroom

KTM to NPJ via flight (very cheap due to Covid) and in a few hours we reached Bardia Wildlife Resort. Very warm welcome... Home grown food was the best... Jungle walk was incredible... (Shout out to our guides Mukti and Prakash) And their garden is very well maintained... Awesome 2 nights stay!

10/10...This is quite simply the best place to stay in Bardia - great value, nice clean rooms and amazing food. The staff are fantastic and the owners, Shankar and Hira, are not only around and happy to help in any situation, but also at the forefront of nature conservation, pushing tourism in the right directions and helping the local community by doing thing like employing under-privielidged locals. Shankar is well-connected with many years experience as a jungle tour guide and now Hira (one of the first women jungle tour guides in Nepal) is training up the next generation for a brighter future. It may sound cheesy but this place really is a beautiful 'Paradise', for both mother nature and human nature.

A small group of us stayed here in mid January. This place is very well situated, on a river, backing onto farmland and just a very short drive to the main gate to Bardia National Park. Our highly knowledgeable guides showed us wonderful birds, both in the park and in the surrounding countryside. I saw several species which I had been unsuccessfully seeking for many years. In addition we saw four deer species and a tiger, close up! The accommodation is simple but adequate and clean. On cold cloudy days the solar water heating struggled to cope but our hosts provided extra hot water in large buckets for evening bathing. The food was always good. Cold beers and local spirits are available. Wifi reaches all over and the internet speed is faster than I get at home. I fully recommend this place to nature lovers.

Saugat and his family were great hosts and very hospitable. The food was great, the accommodation was embedded in culture and tradition and the wildlife was fantastic. We saw plenty of Rhinos; playing, mating and roaming free... a few tigers and many other great species of wildlife

land lord and land lady so genuine that i felt like being in a family in the evening around the bond fire eating telling story. sharing their life in a natural way. Room was great. I love hard mattress so was happy. In my trip to Nepal my two favourite places were Boddhanath in Katmandou and bardia wildlife resort.I really wanted to stay longer but I did not know I could cancel my rbnb. Went with Hira and laxmi on a couple of safari walk it was so good to be with women pampering you (I'm 68). wanted to go and walk in the surrounded villages where the people invite you for a cup of tea and you can feel how they live. I chose the wildlife resort because Hira was the first woman guide in the national park and I am a bit of a feminist. If in Nepal for three weeks on another trip i'll definitely stay 10 days at Bardia. The place and the people are so welcoming and treat you nice and cool.
