We stayed in the two story building. The room was excellent and different from what we are used to. One night we could hear drumming and singing coming from the village. It was peaceful and made us feel we were part of the local scene. The first two days we were there by ourselves and the staff were overly helpful. Our guides were very friendly, knowledgeable, and determined to make our experience memorable. The food was what we expected, wholesome and filling. Our three days in the national park were long, and we experienced long waits along the river watching out for wildlife; which will reward you. We saw a rhino, crocodiles, otters, jackals, owls, several species of deer, languir and macaque monkeys, many birds and insects; and on the last afternoon a royal bengal tiger! On our last morning we rode some bikes around the local villages and joined the children riding to school.

Stayed 5 nights at Forest hideaway and really enjoyed our visit, the guides really know their stuff and will happily and safely lead you through the forest, certainly worth the trip as the place is much quieter and less crowded than Chitwan and the surrounding village is genuine with no "tourist trap" feel. Have to be patient for the big game but it certainly is in the park, our group got very lucky with good rhino sightings and a Tiger encounter. the Birdlife is very diverse and the driver and guide were great at spotting things. Kedar took us out on a couple of our activities and we greatly appreciated his time in finding and describing as much wildlife as possible. The lodge is relaxing and the food is great, will hopefully be back one day.

Getting to Bardia was an adventures in own right. 13 hour bus journey from Lumbini all in the hope of seeing some tigers or elephants in the national park. It was worth it! We stayed at Forest hideaway, we were welcomed like family on our arrival and a much needed cup of tea. The following morning we had a lovely breakfast waiting for us and we left for 7am for the walking safari. The park is beautiful and so peaceful. The guides provided through forest hideaway were fantastic spoke prefect English and knew every single plant and animal. If you want to see animals you need patience. We got very unlucky seeing monkeys, crocodiles, spotted deer rhinos, countless beautiful birds and even a tiger!!!! Life long dream ticked off!!! If you love nature and want to getaway from the noise and have some peace and quiet and see wildlife at the same time come to Bardia is so much better than Chitwan and stay at Forest hideaway the lodge it's self is lovely, nice rooms with hot showers, staff were faultless and good Wi-Fi, excellent location too.
