This centrally located Homestay is a perfect base from which to explore Toraja. Before I tell you about the place you should know that the owner Daud has been a guide for 30 years and trained many of the current guides. He will recommend you a good, reliable guide at a fair price so DON'T acceot the first offer you...

THE MOST AMAZING HOMESTAY EXPERIENCE My friend and I stayed here for two days and we both felt so happy we found this place. The homestay is located in a very quiet and local neighborhood in the center of Rantepao. The room is very clean, spacious and comfortable with a nice terrace and garden. The owner Daud and his family...

The rooms are cheap and clean. It is basically a bed and a bathroom, nor much more, but you will be out anyway. In front of the upstairs room is a big balcony, where you can have your breakfast, get on wifi (if it is working) and meet other travellers. I had a great time meeting people from all parts...

Rooms are clean, owner will help you with all information you need. Its good to go first day with a guide around southern part and next day on your own to the northern mountains so you see all you have visited from the top. Then u can also go some rain forest trekking or funeral ceremonies. Ojek(motorbike) drivers can take...

Beautiful place with comfortable furniture at the terrace. Clean rooms. Helpful owner and family. Simple breakfasts, cheap drinks and big bathroom with hot shower. A bit far from the center, but its very quiet.

We ( family of four ) spend 5 nights in Riana guesthouse and felt at home right from the start. The guesthouse is situated in the middle of a residence area and real close to the main road with shops, restaurants and bars. Rooms are spacy, but keep in mind that not all rooms are equipped with warm water showers....

Riana homestay is very clean, they actually change the linen (as opposed to most of indonesia). The rooms are either standard (150.000rp and no hot water) or deluxe (250.000 with hot water) which is the reason why some complain about the lack of hot water - they didnt pay for it. Owners are very nice. We did not like the...

Riana is a very nice place to stay with comfortable rooms, good location and tasty breakfast. However, the most importantant thing you should know is that Daud (the owner of the homestay) is an amazing guide, who is an anthropologist, used to work as a chief of the village and generally knows everything about Tana Toraja and its culture. You...

Riana guesthouse is a nice place to stay. It's in the center of Rantepao. You are close to the restaurants and shops. The owner is really friendly and is also a guide. You can hire motorbikes at his place and go around Toraja.

3rd place we looked at at 6 in the morning and by far the nicest and cleanest. We even got a bed to catch up on some sleep before getting our room. Incredibly friendly family, very welcoming atmosphere and super helpful. SUPER COMFORTABLE BED AND HOT SHOWER!! Get a guide for a day or two to learn about the culture...
