Although March is not possibly the best time to visit Ngorongoro Crayer due to rain, Sopa lodge is ideal and the staff went out of their way to make pur stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Enjoyed a spectacular sunset on our first night. It rained a lot during the night and woke to a misty morning. Enjoyed Crater...

We stayed here at the beginning of March for 2 nights. Our room was excellently located on the 2nd floor close to the reception area. I liked the rocking chairs on the enclosed balcony and view of the crater. Even though it was by our standards warm in the evening we had hot water bottles in our beds! There was...

Large clean rooms, nice swimming pool, nice seating area in front of the main building above the pool with a fantastic view. The restaurant was a buffet with a large selection - the food was good but not very good. This hotel relies on its superb location. The staff were friendly.

The lodge has a lot to offer. The rooms are large, well appointed and very clean. The lobby and restaurant is amazing. The view of the crater is exceptional. The lodge is located on the north end of the crater (which is a long drive from the main entrance to the crater) and is a very short drive to one...

Great place to stay as very short drive down into the crater. Large and comfortable room and bathroom. Good bar area and views to crater. Efficient and friendly service. As we had stayed for three nights we were treated to a choir made up of members of staff bearing a cake to our table after dinner. We had seen this...

We arrived late, so unfortunately got room 26 which is so low there is no view. The good news is that the room is very large and very nice. There is a small seating area at the window and the bathroom is big with a huge shower. The only downside is that you can only get hot showers between 5...

We have stayed at the Sopa Lodge at Ngorongoro Crater on three different safaris - and I would highly recommend them for two reasons. One is location - it is on the east rim of the crater which provides quick and easy access to the crater and secondly, it is an excellent lodge - rooms are clean, food is varied...

Compared to the intimate lodges and tented camps we stayed in for the rest of our safari, Sopa was a gigantic, well-run, slightly generic experience. By the time we stayed at Sopa, it was a respite from adventurous lodging, but I wouldn't recommend spending an entire trip here unless you have a large party, with picky family members (little kids,...

We stayed 2 nights at the conclusion of our safari. It has a great view of the crater, and our room was huge, with a nice solarium with two chairs and a table. The meals were good, with plenty of options at the buffet, from an international menu with a good Indian sub-continent selection. The pool looked nice, and despite the...
