Although I was there in August, 2015, it was quite cold. Take an overcoat and heavy sweaters. The staff is friendly and remembers your name. The food was stellar. The views amazing. I particularly loved climbing into my bed with the hot water bottle.

Certainly possible, my first visit to Ngorongoro Crater had a morning game drive after which we drove to the airport for an afternoon flight. My experience was part of a safari so really don't know how to organise a single drive. The company that I normally use is Roy Safari in Arusha.
