Gracious, friendly and hospitable. You don't want to miss a meal. Minutes from gorilla & golden monkey sites. Fireplaces in your rooms lit when you return. Trekking accessories available and washed upon your return. My boots were never so clean since purchasing them! Overall great experience. The steps up to site get you ready for trekking!!

What an unbelievably awesome experience. 2 hr. trek into the jungle to sit down and have lunch with the Amahoro Family. They were so gentle and so human like. The guides were extremely informative. The lodge itself was more than you could possibly hope for. Very personable and friendly management and the room attendant was there for all the comforts...

We are also pleased to hear that you found our team to be friendly and that you were well looked after! The...

We were lucky enough to stay at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge and it was more than we ever expected. The Gorilla experience was as expected life changing- what was unexpected was the level of service and assistance we received from Thor Alisa and their team. Thor and Alisa have created a perfect sense of team at Sabyinyo and it plays out...

Dear Hamish123452015, Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We are genuinely touched to hear how much you all enjoyed yourselves and that you found the level of service at Sabyinyo to be very high. We love hearing about our guests experiences, from the gorillas to the rest of their travels, each is different! I personally love bird-watching so...

This is a lovely lodge, comparable with the best you will find anywhere. Spacious rooms stand alone in the grounds with beautiful views. Food is good if not quite 5 star. The point to note is that it is at the top of a very steep hill and there is no transport up the hill - and it is at...

Dear Nigel B, Thank you very much for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and that the accommodation, surrounds and food met your expectations. The walk up to the lodge takes between 4-10 minutes depending on ones fitness and of course the altitude affects most of our guests making them a little...

Our cabin was the highest of the ten cabins at Sabyinyo and offered spectacular views of two of the volcanoes from the front porch and the other three volcanoes from the back porch. The food and beverages far exceeded our expectations and were comparable to a five star restaurant. The cabin was well appointed and quite large. The staff were...

Dear Stephen C, Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a great review! The chefs and waiters will be delighted to hear that you regarded their food and drinks so highly- We always highly recommend a visit to the local village for the very reasons that you have mentioned here, a glimpse into rural Rwandan life...

We were told that Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge was the best for gorilla trekking in Rwanda. But it was even better than we expected. It is located near the Volcanoes National Park station from which all groups depart for their gorilla experience. It sits on a hill with commanding views of the five principal volcanoes, including the Sabyinyo volcano peak overhead....

I stayed here in July 2015 with 14 of my friends and family and it was so great. This was the second stop on our journey, coming from Uganda. We stayed here while gorilla trekking in November. We were pampered head to toe. They provided hot water bottles in your bed at night, fires roaring when you came back from gorilla trekking, free laundry, free wifi and boot cleaning after each trek. The food was amazing and the views spectacular. But the staff was the standout. So attentive, helpful...
