Kasbah Hotel Xaluca Arfoud is well-regarded for its authentic Moroccan charm and attentive service, with guests often receiving a warm welcome accompanied by live music. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently praised, especially the well-maintained bathrooms and the comfortable, if quirky, rooms.
While the atmosphere is rich with cultural ambiance, some guests feel that the value is lacking, particularly due to underwhelming buffet dinners. Nonetheless, the hotel boasts a range of praised amenities, including varied pools and spacious rooms, although the food quality occasionally receives mixed reviews.

Stayed one night at Xaluca in room 40. The hotel is a sprawling complex of buildings in the desert. It's worth taking some time wandering around, as there are interesting sights around every corner. The entrance lobby has some seating and a small gift shop. The main courtyard has a large swimming pool and lots of seating, including lounge chairs and patio tables. Shade is provided here and there by large thatched palm umbrellas. There's a bar on one side of the courtyard, and the entrance to the restaurant on the other side. A large flat rooftop was a nice place to watch the sunset, and would be a great place for stargazing at night.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, including a couple of sofas and a large chest that was useful as a luggage rack. There's a small closet, containing a safe and refrigerator. The bathroom has a separate room for the commode, a large sink carved out of fossil-bearing rock, and a large shower. The room and its furnishings are dark, as is the covered hallway outside. That gives it a cool feeling in this desert setting, and is probably a good cool retreat on a hot summer day.
Next to the bar are two large rooms. The first has a large TV and a lot of very comfortable chairs and sofas. The second is names the "Royal Tent", and it indeed give a good impression of the inside of a desert tent. It features low seating and thick red carpets.
The restaurant offers a buffet with resonable food, but a limited selection. At breakfast, the scrambled eggs were cold. An omelet station was available, but with a very limited selection of ingredients. As in most of Morocco, non-local travelers are advised to avoid raw vegetables, and stick to fruit that you peel yourself.

We stayed here for one night on route to our desert encampment. We had been told that it was the best in the area but that it was one of the lower quality ones of our trip, and that it was used by many large tour groups. The hotel is large and has a modern Moroccan feel to it. Our room was a good five minutes walk from the reception area. All the main facilities being around the reception area, a number of restaurants of which only one was open, a bar and large swimming pool. The room had very low powered lighting and as our window looked out onto a partially covered quadrangle there was no light to be gained from opening the curtains. The main room was decorated in dark oranges and reds and had a KSB which was on a raised concrete plinth which was easy to stub your foot on if you weren’t careful, there were a couple of sofa’s in the room a table and plenty of wardrobe space as well as a safe. The bathroom was open to the main room and consisted of a good sized shower at one end, toiletries were provided and were of a reasonable quality. The toilet was at the opposite end to the shower and had a door on it. Between the two areas were two wash basins with their surrounds being of the local rock embedded with fossils. The restaurant served buffet style for both our evening meal and breakfast, the choice was reasonable and as the restaurant was busy the food was replenished on a regular basis. For breakfast as well as the usual options there was an area to get eggs cooked to your liking.

The hotel looks beautiful as you drive up and the rooms are truly set up to make you feel you are in the desert. They are definitely rustic. The air conditioner worked great which was a good thing as it was still quite warm . In keeping with the mood of the room it was very dimly lit. This bathroom vanity is made of fossils while beautiful totally impractical. I had a hard time inserting my contacts and putting on makeup . The buffet was average at best!

We arrived in the evening with our tour group and were wowed by the beautiful entrance. Upon entering the hotel, there were people dancing as they greeted us, which was fun. We were checked in quickly. We were assigned to Room 13, which was gorgeous, as was the entire property. Our building had decent WiFi, not the best, but adequate. Members of our group in another building with rooms 1-12 said WiFi was non-existent or poor there.
We loved our room. It was decorated like the entire property in native Moroccan style. Every detail was beautiful, seemingly authentic, and warm, from the couches to the wooden posters on the bed. There were small rugs on the floor that a person could trip over, but we just rolled them up and stuck them into the corner.
The entire facility was enjoyable. There’s a swimming pool both indoors and outdoors. The indoor pool has a hot tub. Near the indoor pool and hot tub is a spa where guests can schedule a massage. There was a wonderful dining area with buffet meals. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was cheerful and efficient. Two waiters even happily posed for me at the cozy fireplace while I took a picture.
If I were ever in the area again, I would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip:Avoid building with Rooms 1-12, according to my group members. Poor or non-existent WiFi.

Big spread out place caters well for coach parties. Dining room maybe caters for 150 people with long tables. Food was buffet and is fine. Rooms big. Easy to get lost at night. Did not like the concrete base for bed base and head board as it hurts you! I thought it was nice actually but remember its a transit hotel not a resort hotel. Tip the ac is operated by a white remote so dont waste time looking for a wall control

Our Gate 1 tour stopped here for one night on our way to the desert and the accommodations were very good. We were warmly greeted by musicians and of course mint tea and cookies. The room was uniquely appointed in Berber style and the fossil sink was very cool. The highlight was the walk in shower! The buffet food was adequate and the desserts outstanding. The pool area was very nice and the musicians played traditional music on the patio in the evening.

Our Gate1travel group was booked here for 2 nights. There were 3 other bus tour groups booked here simultaneously. Upon our arrival we were greeted with live music, dancer and mint tea along with cookies. This is a huge property and sprawling grounds with several buildings. We were assigned in the back buildings. Our room was very big and felt like staying in a kasbah house. However, the sand and dust was spread along our head board on our bed. I can understand sand is unpreventable on the floors but head board needed serious cleaning, not only in our room but 3 other rooms had same issues. Allergies among guests was triggered. After notification to management, it was cleaned up, but a bit too late. Breakfast hall is huge to accommodate big groups. Buffet food at breakfast and dinner was very good, many varieties and waitstaff helpful.

Near the desert a truly beautiful hotel, unexpected, evocative of magical journeys, a sort of “Tea in the desert”, but much more comfortable.
Beautiful and very large rooms (with a kind welcome gift), very nice and well furnished all common areas.
Excellent and with great variety dinner, as well as breakfast.
Truly a magnificent stop

Loved our stay at this gorgeous Kasbah. From musical welcoming party and mint tea service to the magically appointed grounds - it was a fairytale Moroccan kasbah. They also had a very good and well varied breakfast and dinner buffet. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, a carvery, pasta, fish you name it..... Also they were licensed. Yay! This is something to be very thankful for when travelling in Morocco. Our room was spacious and - since the kasbah is on a road some distance from town - it was also a very quiet nights sleep. No early wakening by chickens or a call to prayer.

Very nice kasbah - stayed here one night as part of a group tour. Expansive grounds. Room was quiet and comfortable. Had their buffet dinner and breakfast - about average. Bathroom sink constructed of the stone with embedded fossils - very unique.

I don't think so. It's a two storey hotel, spread out as someone has said. One couple in our group were on 1st floor and we helped with their bags. Best to specify ground floor. Beautiful place!
There are more places to choose from in the Erfoud area.
