By UK standards the resort is a little tired and could do with a spruce up, but it's not that bad. You can not fault the attitude and helpfulness of the staff, quality of the food or cleanliness. It's a little out in the wilds but transport is easily arranged via reception to meet your requirements. A little care needs...

We decided to spend 7 days at a resort where we could lay by the pool and read and sleep for 7 days. Our choice of the mombasa coast was based on hearing great things about that stretch of coast line. Pro's : Very friendly helpful staff, Large clean apartments. nice pool. Awesome sunrises. Con's : Beach and street hawkers...

5 of us went to Royal Reserve for Xmas New year 2009/10 - we had a great time. Being a timeshare rental - there were very few europeans at the resort - most of the owners at this time of the year were Kenyans from Nairobi. What a friendly and interesting group of people. The resort itself is African 5*...

My partner & I returned at the end of November after spending 2 weeks at the Royal Reserve, & what a superb time we had. The rooms, although a little dated are massive, & well equiped & cleaned to a high standard, every day - Peter did our house keeping & was a little gem! All the staff were friendly...

Been back a week or so and thought it about time to post a review. Whilst the Royal Reserve is off the beaten track, guests who have already stayed here will know what I mean, it is well worth a stay here. Ok the rooms are a little dated but we found our apartment clean and comfortable. Whilst the food...

We arrived at the Hotel a little late, due to airlines leaving and arriving late at respective airports. We were picked up at the airport, by arrangement, which was a fair deal at $35 for the 3 of us, including baggage. Its an hour and a half from the airport to the hotel and its along a dust track, which...

The welcome was warm and the accommodation dated and tired but comfortable. The hard sell for excursions took the shine off a little and the beach is only accessible if you can put up with even harder selling from 'the beach boys.' I know they are only trying to earn a living but the badgering is endless. Do not visit...

We have spend here 12 days after a 9 days safari. Our children(10 and 13 years) would not want to leave. Use the beach boys for trips or advice. They are very friendly. we used Mr brown and Max. My daugther went for horsebach riding and she loved it. They also took us for a safari to the reef. The...
