We stayed here for one night on our way to Accra from the north. The room was clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. The AC worked well and the restaurant offered good food and service. Our only real complaint was the horrible mothball smell when we arrived. I located the offending object, threw it out the window. and aired out the room. No one should be using these toxin laced balls!

Rather Spartan room with a few things that didn’t work, but clean and reasonably comfortable. Decent restaurant (had a very nice red red, so not sure what the European food was like). Hotel was quiet (I was the only person eating in the restaurant). Secure gated parking. Overall a decent stopover.

Only a few meters away from the extremely busy highway (Kumasi-Accra), you stay at this peaceful hotel. Rooms are plucked out of a 4* business hotel - spotlessly clean and spacious with plenty of sockets to charge your stuff. Meals are delicious and there's a wide choice. I stayed there 2 separate nights : once on the way to Mole N.P. and once on my way back to visit Bobiri. The staff is very friendly and efficient. A very pleasant surprise in beautiful Ghana.

We recently spent two nights at Royal Basin as part of a birdwatching trip around Ghana. The hotel is well situated on the outskirts of Kumasi and is an ideal stopover for long days on the road between the north and south of the country. The hotel has a good restaurant/bar that serves good quality "western" type meals as well as providing a nice breakfast buffet. As anywhere else in Ghana, the coffee isn't great but the ice cold beers at night make up for that! The wi-fi is very good, but only available in the rooms themselves. The rooms are huge and come with a comfortable bed, big table, small fridge and an excellent aircon. The big bathroom did give us some water challenges, but this was quickly rectified my management. Speaking of management, all staff members were super friendly and very efficient. Royal Kumasi exceeded our expectations and we can definitely recommend it.…

We stayed here on and off for about three weeks. By Ghana standards this is really great. Staff were friendly, and the food is very good. Pool started dirty for first few days but once they’d cleaned it up, it was lovely. Well placed for knust but 30 minutes from town centre.

We stayed here for 2 nights, on our way to and from Mole National Park. The room was average size and clean with a comfortable bed and good hot shower. The food was very good and the waiter was the best...lots of smiles and good service!

I stayed in two different rooms on our way up and back from Mole National Park and the north of the country. I found both rooms to be in a sub-standard condition with holes in pillow cases, dirty tables, large spider webs and ants in the toilets. The air conditioning was faulty in one of the rooms and I just about managed to get a fan from the hotel staff. The hotel staff also had quite a lackadaisical attitude also. Two staff members were seen asleep in public areas of the hotel during the first stay! The restaurant was lit by a single dim light bulb which meant some of us had to eat by using the light on our phones to see what we were eating. It had no functioning Wi-Fi at all and the reason given for this was that it was raining! In general avoid if possible.

We stayed here(my partner, our daughter & myself) back in oct& 2012 ..we chose this hotel because it was local to the university which my patner attends plus it had a swimming pool for our daughter,an added bonus a pool table & gym for our relaxation time BUT on our arrival we had to change rooms straight away due to the AC NOT WORKING AN OF DAMP & MOULD..now this is the last thing you want to be faced with at 2am after a long flight from the UK. BUT we just wanted to sleep so even though our next room was not much better..room 20 we just rested for the night or so we thought..we was woken around 5am (something that happened every morning of a 8 night stay)to a singing cockhral...oh happy days..breakfast was downstairs in the restaurant which was empty our whole stay..even had to hunt down staff, once found was to be seated an wait for the gentlemen to come an take our order (wasn't a buffet breakfast) we spent a lot of time waiting for our orders over the duration of our stay ,even one night my partner had his foodan 45 minutes later I was still waiting so cancelled my meal that evening ,wasnt hungry after the long wait..but breakfast was the same everyday..omelette,toast,hotdogs,beans..no cereal..even one morning no condensed milk for our coffee ,yes condensed milk cartoons where all that was available. After disaster nite an poor breakfast my partner wasnt happy,me well I just was making the best of a bad situation..so off to check out the pool...hhmmm..green an flys floating plus lizards or rat pooh all around the edge of the baby pool so we did complain at reception after the staff kept us waiting while they laughed an joke on the phone at what seemed to be a personal call at the front desk..not great! They did however the next day clean the pool an the gentleman who runs from the restaurant to the bar to the pool did keep coming our cleaning it with his net every now an then..the pool table is old, dated an only has one worn out cue..the souvenir shop was never open during our stay neither was the jazz bar..our conclusion s of this hotel is...it claims to be so great an yet fails so much ..even the gym ..its not a gym its a store room! But as we have found alot in accra and kumasi...theres some great places with lots of potential but they are run down an need work but the ppl arent interested in providing a good impression or service they just want money..well you dont get money for nothing..although saying that we spent alot there but havent returned so that must say something!…

We stayed here for 1 night on way to Mole NP and two nights on way back. On first night we were late arriving (about 9.15pm having come from Picathartes site). There were no kitchen staff, they had gone home as it was raining heavy so had to make do with beers and some snacks we had with us. On second stay food was OK but we had to get them to get some beer from next door as only bottle they had was half empty, still they did get some. We did look at the pool one afternoon but decided to go to Bobiri again as it looked disgusting. One plus point was Straw coloured Fruit bats and White-faced Owls in the trees.
