Very good value for the price - 300birr for the night as a solo traveler, though breakfast is not included. Ask for a room facing away from the main road - 106 was nice and had a good sunset view, but I could not get the hot water to work despite my best efforts. Beds were comfortable. Hotel is also in a good location for exploring Gondar.

Room was dirty, bathroom was gross. Water also dripped from the pipes from the room above. Everything was outdated. Only one wall socket for charging items (after unplugging the tv) which was hanging out of the wall (i didnt feel too safe using it). Someone tried to open my door without a key but luckly i had it locked. Only good thing was the food in the restaurant was good but service was lacking. Walking distance to the Royal Enclosure.

You'd be hard pushed to beat the location of L Shape. You can walk to pretty much anywhere in Gonder from the hotel and because it's so huge you can pretty much see it from anywhere too, meaning it's usually easy to find your way home. The room is basic and though some of the wiring in the bathroom looked a bit nerve wracking, overall L Shape is excellent value for money. We also had a great balcony in our room where we could watch the sun go down. This is definitely the place to stay if you want to stay central and you're on a budget. Lovely staff too. Would come back here if in the area again.

Cheap accommodation in the center of Gondar, the rooms are quite old but beds are comfortable and this is really OK for the prices. It can get a bit loud at night and sometimes you get power or water cut but really you can't ask for much more at this rate. The cleaning is fine and you can get food and drinks downstairs

It is maybe the only reasonable place in Gondar with OK quality. We paid 900 Birr for staying two nights in this place which was OK. The hot shower was working. The unstable Internet was usable and we felt pretty safe. The room was also clean.
