I spent two nights here. One before my trek to the Simien Highlands and one after. It felt nicer the second time around, I guess after the heat and dust for over a week my standards for hygiene had been significantly lowered. I would recommend people to head out after dark and take in the nightlife. Good live music and the...

After trekking in the Simiens my guide took me to three other hotels before this one but they were all full for some reason. In other parts of Ethiopia I found it easy just to turn up without booking anywhere as there is loads of cheap accommodation which isn't too hard to find - usually only takes 5-10mins of wandering...

After getting sharked by over-charging tourist touts in Bahir Dar, I was determined not to repeat the experience. Queen Taitu pension was recommended in the Bradt guidebook and I dodged many people between bus stop and city centre who tried to convince me to go to 'their' hotel. I'm glad I stuck with my plan to go to QTP. I...

Everything is fine up to when you pay 150 birr. Then comes the dirty smelly bed, the noise and no water in the morning. What's worst is they switch off the water pump early morning to minimize cost.Other than that it is located at the center of Gondor and nearby you can find Master Chef and Four sisters restaurants. Both...

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. It is fairly cheap (we paid 200 BIRR/ €8 for a night for a room including bathroom) and to get to the center you only have to walk 5 to 10 minutes. The boiler was shared so we only had a hot shower early in the morning. The room was small but...

Good location (although dark streets when returning in the evening), friendly staff, clean rooms (by Ethiopian standards), clean linens, television and en suite with a hot shower for 200 ETB/night. I was accommodated in a twin room for the single price (due to availability on the first night) and moved to a smaller single room on my second night.

We stayed there for two nights, it was cheap and clean and the bathroom was ok by Ethiopian standards, which you get used to. However, one night we were woken up by a woman screaming for ages, sounded like she was being beaten. The next morning we asked and they said she was a thief who had broken in ......

We called the sameday and we booked one single and one double room. When we arrived there was no single available. They showed us first the worst room available. We changed twise until we got a shower with hot water. The last change was a bit late in the evening and we had to ask for it tree times before...

It was one of the cheapest places in Gonder that's why we picked Queen Taitus Pension. We did not expect a lot and actually liked the place for the first night... but besides a not really working toilet (but that is not unusual in the cheaper hotels) there must have been flees in one of the beds... That's why we...

We stayed for one night at this hotel after it was suggested by the guy organising our Simien trek. The room was tiny, barely bigger than the bed but was clean. We specifically asked for hot water and indeed the water was very hot but unfortunately there was no cold water so we were unable to have a shower in...
