Enjoyed 2 nights here while visiting Carters Beach for the first time. This location was very convenient for that purpose. Cottage met all of our needs during our stay. Enjoyed the stars at night off the back deck. Staff was friendly and the Seascape Restaurant was great !. Will stay again if we are in the area.

We stopped in for dinner and had a really great fresh fish dinner and a seafood platter that was awesome. The homemade buns were amazing and soft and fluffy. Lots of food with fast great service. Good spot to stop at.

The key thing about this property is the location as you are close to some of the most beautiful beaches in Nova Scotia. The cottages themselves are quaint and you do have a nice view from the back deck and there are barbecues. There is a convenience store including NSLC across the street. The best part of this property is the little restaurant in the convenience store. The seafood is absolutely delicious! There is no air conditioning but several fans are in the rooms. If you are traveling in the heat of summer as we were you will find it warm but in this part of Nova Scotia you will not want to be inside for long. This would be a better value for a family versus for my husband and I as I find the price high for the appearance of the rooms and we were not cooking our meals in.

Rented the house, wich could be nice if they would clean it. The floor was really dirty and the counters where even worst, was planning on cooking my meals but no way i'l do it in this house... Beds where full of stains also. impossible to relax in that house.

On a recent trip down the South Shore we found ourselves , without accommodations. A chance happening , we discovered the Port Mouton Bay Cottages. Owners were Super friendly. The cottage was Super Clean, well equipped, comfortable, everything you could ever need , was there . Although we didn't need it, the BBQ was spotless. Had supper at the across the road, and was a delight , again the staff were friendly, and food was great,( seafood platter),, Worth a return visit.

We stayed here one night Sept. Unfortunately, it was fogged in but it did lift just before we left in the morning. The view was lovely of what we could see of it. We were concerned about road noise but it was quite quiet. The cottage itself was well equipped however we were confused re coffee. There was no coffee and we really did not expect that...however we are road travelling and staying at inns and b&b's so didn't think about it as coffee was provided or easily found....there was a coupon for complimentary coffee at the store across the street which we looked forward to using. I can't recall if that was a cup of coffee or a disc for the coffee maker. Disappointed when we went for our morning coffee the store was closed until 11am. I think most travellers leave before then. On a nice day, I would say these would be really great accommodations.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights recently. The cottage was large, well equipped and very clean. I was a very hot weekend and the cottage was pretty warm but there were several fans and it did cool off at night. It is very close to Carter's Beach which is beautiful.

Stayed at these cottages on Thanksgiving weekend. Cottages were clean and had every thing we needed. We had an issue with the propane stove which was was addressed promptly by the owner Ron. When he couldn't get it going, a repair person was called and fixed the problem on Saturday. I would highly recommend this cabin and would stay here again.

I did not stay at Port Mouton Bay Cottages, but had a late lunch at the Seascape Restaurant, owned by the same people and located nearby on Highway 103. Their menu is not fancy, but offers a lot of good, simple choices. The all-day breakfast caught my eye, so I enjoyed fish cakes and eggs. Very satisfying!

Didn't stay at the cottages but ate lunch at the little restaurant/shop and liquor store across the road, owned by the same people. The fish chowder and chicken soup were excellent and not expensive, as was the strawberry and rhubarb pie, and the service was very friendly and sincere. A real roadside stopping point for a quick and unpretentious meal. Nothing fancy, just plain good (oh, apart from the cotton wool rolls served with the soup and chowder)
