Very good service. Great care and hospitality. We enjoyed our stay very much. The kids had so much fun and were begging us to extend our stay. The attention to ensure our comfort was met is tremendous. Awesome, awesome awesome...!!!
They did the most. IFYKYK. They treated us like royalty honestly. I have never been so well treated in Ethiopia. We had a whole table setting done, speakers given, waiters serving us till late in the night. Which we hadn't asked for btw. The weather was also quite good and it was nice to get away from Addis.
This place is amazing! The staff are very attentive and made our stay very nice and comfortable. It is a great place through and through. They even baked us cake as we were leaving to thank us for the stay
Wonderful reception. Friendly staff. Totally Enjoyed every bit of it Visited the castel winery farm for sone wine tasting too. We were invited with some nice juice and cake, and had a little send off session with cake
Got 5-star treatment during an overnight stay. Superb service from all staff who were super friendly and welcoming. Had a night open barbecue and a whole cake to send us off. Would highly recommend! 👌🏾👌🏾
We were there on August 13, 2021. We planned to spend two nights but in the end we checked out after only one night. It started from the moment we checked in. I paid in cash and the receptionist did not give me back any change. The change was less than 100 Br. so I let it slide. I figured he was busy or new or whatever. The room we rented, 034, was in a section called Classics (hah!). The door itself was a flimsy affair with a handle that didn't operate properly and when you opened it it got stuck half way on the uneven floor. You need to give it a good shove to open it all the way. This does not bode well, I thought to myself. When we got up the next morning there was no water in our room, but when we went to the main building for breakfast we found that the water was flowing pretty freely there. We complained to the receptionist and we briefly had running water but it promptly disappeared again. I ended up not washing at all and my wife was able to wash her hair only. The food was over-priced, unappetizing and unsavoury. The Fish Goulash my wife ordered for dinner was barely lukewarm and the Lamb Tibs I ordered was extremely tough and gamey. The next morning we went to the complimentary breakfast buffet hoping for a better experience. But alas, it was just more of the same with a special twist. The dates we were there were smack in the middle of a small fasting period for the Ethiopian Orthodox community. During this period it's common for any hotel or restaurant to have a good selection of fasting (i.e.- vegan) foods. Correction: every hotel except Haile Resorts Ziway. There was only one vegan dish! Neither my wife nor I came away from that meal satisfied. The only thing first class about this hotel is the price. In the end we checked out early and spent the rest of our stay at Sabana Beach Resort on lake Langano.…
A simple but friendly hotel for the area. The views and setting by the lake are wonderful. The staff could not try hard enough, are very friendly. The rooms are basic but clean. Food is limited, but pizzas are great.
This is NOT a normal Haile Resort. It’s a poor cousin. We checked in to a VERY basic room with a view of the red metal roof. We asked for a better room and got one called “garden”. It’s a bit bigger, with a deck, of sorts. There was no furniture on it and the door out to it had no screen. The room is stuffy and there is no air conditioning. A small, plastic fan whirs loudly in the corner. The only good thing was the meal in the restaurant. We had no choice. There was only one thing on the menu, but the beef was really tender, the mashed potatoes & gravy, yummy and the salad and dressing were also great!
The first impression when I arrived was this is not a resort. Food is terrible, staff are okay, the rooms are a disaster! Mine didn’t even have a blanket when I asked for one I was told they are finished. On first night I couldn’t sleep due to a party, second night was mosquito invasion in the room. For such a malaria area a mosquito net should be obvious but there was none. I’ve tried to think of something good to say about this hotel but there is none! Not worth your time and money!
I was doing a 5 week tour of Ethiopia on a budget. . Due to fact it was lower season ,and to allow flexibility to maximise experiences , I did not pre book any hotels but was booking on the net from the car as travellef to next destination. or just walking in.. In the case of Ziway I decided it was time for a treat so started to book the HR online having found a good price on booking.com. I had previously stayed in the HR at Awasa on business so was looking forward to the hotel in Ziway. Due to the net being taken down for exams I could not complete the booking but relied on fact the hotel would not know what it had charged on booking.com. On arrival the security guard confirmed the hotel was empty so I would have no trouble getting a room. As it was lunch time that came first. The garden was pleasant, the waiter charming and helpful and the mushroom soup and traditional local food was delicious and good value. I can heartily recommend for the restaurant. So - off to get a room. Well, I nearly apologised for having to raise the receptionist from his lethargy. He could hardly be less interested. I asked for a room and was told how much it was. I explained I had found a better price on booking.com but could not complete booking. I was rudely asked how much and after some lip curling was told that none of those rooms at that standard were, after all, available so would need to pay for upgraded room. .I really felt that it iwas just too much for the recpetionist to do any work in a very empty hotel so no attempt at customer service was going to be made. I left him to it and his attitude made me decide to look in town instead which, in the event, location turned out to suit me better. Though it was not the treat I had envisaged.…
