We stayed over in the safari tents in this game reserve, and this was not the first time (and thank goodness we stayed only ONE night) The tent was shoddy and no fresh linen was provided in the tent. The electrical wiring was done by an unprofessional person as it presented a safety hazard. Blankets were old and full of...

We stayed in the Bush Lodge. 4 seperate chalets with a kitchen and lounge overlooking a pan with a private chef and game warden for escorted walks. Unfortunately, due to the drought, the pan had no water but it must be amazing when there is water. The Ranger took us on 2 walks of over 2 hours each which were...

Expecting to be woken by birds and sounds of nature but this was not to be. From sunrise the loud voices of people laughing and talking carelessly, heavy vehicles and the loading of tools and equipment in a fashion that shows no regard for visitors, could be heard throughout the camp. Peace only descends late afternoon when work on the...

The safari tents at Mantuma were a wonderful find. Mkuze is quiet and peaceful with no tour buses (in actual fact I haven't seen a game vehicle in 2 days, although I know they are here). The camp at Mantuma feels a bit forgotten, which is great if you are looking for tranquility, but not so much if you were...

Just spent a night in a 4sleeper tent. Fun layout..2 bedrooms ensuite and separate open kitchen. As soon as it was dark the bushbabies arrived, leaping all over the kichen and tents and drinking the few drops from the kitchen tap. Super-tame nyala right outside the tent. Tents have everything you need. The fridge light came on so we thought...

I Spent 3 nights in Mkuze in the rest huts, the Huts were OK and we had everything we needed, the reserve was good with some great mammal and bird hides that have recently been renovated and upgraded, we had good birdwatching and game viewing in Mkuze, there are also some great photographic opportunities from the Kumasinga Hide that overlooks...

Not knowing what to expect having travelled all the big parks in SA and Zimbabwe we were blown away by the sheer awesomeness of Mkuze. On the first evening a long wait at the waterhole was rewarded by an incredible sighting of an entire pride of Lion coming down to drink and then giving us a fine demonstration of pride...

The tented camp is not a 5* hotel, but you could not find anything better if you want to be close to the nature, or rather in it. The permanent tents have all basic comforts – beds, shower with warm water (if you do not mind occasional gecko or a bushbaby watching your evening ablutions), mosquito nets (its malaria area...

All the birdhides is revamped, lovely. What a pleasure to visit them all. A lot of animals dispite the draught. Ablution blocks in campsite was under construction....in December why? The staff not so helpfull. Baboons wrecked the place over weekeneds and no one seems to care or pick the dustbins or rubbish flying around up.

The tents have been repaired since Easter, but the quality of the repairs leaves much to be desired! With great difficulty for us older folk, we were able to close/open the flyscreen doors, but the outer canvas doors were more problematic - even though the handyman came to repair them! It is really heartbreaking for those of us who have...
