We didn't see the big 5 but wow what a beautiful place. We stayed in the tents at Mpila Camp at the bottom. What a view from our tent. Elephant and the usual antelope were viewed every day. Love the outdoor kind of shower. Pity the shower head was terrible and was difficult to keep at a specific temp on...

Stayed in a one bedroom chalet with verandah, just enough mod cons to get by whilst being able to appreciate that we are in the animals natural environment rather than some chick establishment . Having last stayed a couple of years ago we remembered to take a plentyfull supply of drinking water but cannot remember if we had mosquito nets...

The hut themselves are getting a little dated and worn but still kept clean and the well spaced individual layout gives good privacy. Best aspect is the full immersion inside the park with a nice setting along a ridge top which catches the breeze and gives nice views. Units provide mosquito nets but the treated drinking water has a strong...

Stayed in one of the two 7 bed cottages just before Christmas, cottages were spacious and had everything we needed, and a great view, our cook Cebo (sorry if we have spelt this wrong) was an absolute star. Found all the staff to be helpful and we managed to see the big 5 plus many more, in fact we had...

We did our own drives and saw plently of giraffes, elepahnts, rhinios, buffalo and lions! With the help of the camp drive we saw a beautiful leopard! Mpila was...

Another stunning time in the Umfolozi, but the tented camp at Mpila desperately needs proper maintenance, kitchen cupboards falling off their hinges, monkey chains on doors and cupboards broken tent zips broken. Come on KZN wildlife such a beautiful place but in danger of going to ruin. The shop a disgrace too, fridges broken not working no water....

We had booked to stay 3 nights in a safari tent. We checked out after the second night because we found we were just too bored. The tent was fine, although not exactly secure (especially the bathroom in which we found a massive spider) but the kitchen was fully equipped. We had a bit of a scare with some aggressive...

I stayed here recently with a couple of friends. Did a view game drives in our Oren vehicle. Although it was very dry due to the severe drought in the area, we saw many amazing animals. The hides they have there was also an unforgettable experience in getting to see animals so up close in their natural habitat.

Our family stayed in a five sleeper self catering unit for three days / two nights over a weekend. The unit is very comfortable, clean and serviced daily with all the basics, great bathroom, gas stove, lounge, fridge etc. Excellent location in the iMfolozi reserve with amazing views over the valley. We had bush pigs, impala, vervet monkeys and nyala...
