We arrive at night it was pitch black and there was no power, we were given a candle which was nice. A nice man carried all our bags all the way to the top. The pillows were very very very uncomfortable but it did us just fine. It's in a great location, I recommend arriving at his hotel during the... More

The rooms were very basic and nothing special and there were only 1 window in the room. The bathroom seemed a bit old and worn out and the rooms lacked some decoration. However the area is beautiful and most rooms seems to have a beautiful view of the gorge.

Rooms up steep hill although porters available to carry bags. Clean rooms with electricity and hot water. Stayed one night. Food was good with good choice although slightly more expensive than other places we have stayed. Best to order in advance run go shower and return for food. I had the shrimps and chips - huge portion and then banana... More

Conveniently and centrally located , 10 minute drive from the park, the pictures don't do it justice, very prettily situated with a lovely view. As with most of the hotel's outside of Tana, it seems to make extra money by charging a tad more for food and drink, that said, the food was acceptable and the breakfast welcome. Friendly too... We stayed two nights here while visiting ranomafana park. Room has a gorgeous view. Bed is comfortable. Mosquito net fits over the bed. Staff very helpful and nice. Steep climb to rooms which is a pain when you are completely exhausted. We are vegetarians so we had noodles or rice with veggies which was really good!!

came for lunch, sat outside on the veranda looking across the road to the river and the Ranomafana NP. Had local shrimps in a tomato and garlic sauce, white rice and French fries. Lovely flavours, although the shrimps were unshelled and messy to eat. Good English spoken, the place was full of tourists. Had to fight off about 6 women... More

We ate here every night we stayed in Ranomafana - it was so nice the first night that we couldn't resist coming back. The staff were also an absolute delight - a very jolly crew that served us bananas when we went a bit overboard on the local hot sauce (BEWARE!!!) The food was really nice and we ate the... More

It's not easy to review Manja. There's nothing that bad and it had tough competition as we'd stayed in a couple of very luxurious places further south before getting to Ranomafana. That said, the bungalows are pretty basic. Comfortable enough but a bit like being in a big shed really. The bathroom was a bit past it - everything worked... More

We feared staying here given some of the reviews that claim they had no windows on the bungalows. We stayed two nights in bungalow No. 1, which had all we needed, including a double glazed window, door and another window in the bathroom. It did not had any problems with electricity either. The bungalow next to it was the same,... More

The hotel is in a lovely place, facing the valley at Rafonamana. It has bungalows scattered on the hill but alas they have no view. The door and window are barred by wooden blinds and there is no windowpane, so you cannot open the blinds if you don't want your room full of mosquitos. You are compelled to have your... More
