This campsite is accessible from Xakanaxa over a poorly maintained pole bridge. The reception has wifi during a number of hours a day and next to the office is a well equipped shop with freezers and a wide selection of products, even meat. During our stay no game drives were available only motorboat trips starting at the boat station of the camp and with a knowledgeable guide Michael; unfortunately no mokoro trips. The management seemed not to be very interested/motivated and one of them who helped us solve an issue with our car (10-15 minutes) and received a good tip tried to get hundreds of Pula for this service. The ensuite tents offer a good bed with mosquito nets, electricity, an outdoor shower etc and we could watch elephants passing and heard very aggressive hyena's and jackals during the night.

This was a fantastic experience. 4 friends staying in 2 tented accommodations. Clean and wildlife outside your door. Bring fire wood for your evening bondfire. Don't leave anything outside hence monkeys are good collectors :) There is a small shop at the 3d bridge gate with basic things.

What a joy to return here to the Third Bridge camp, the stage before Xakanaxa. We were there for 1 night in a pleasant location (but be careful not to park under the sausage trees, and not to hang around too much under them because it's heavy, especially when the baboons hang out in the branches). Brushing your teeth at the tap, with your headlamp and raising your head when you see a hippo 10m away will stick with you. As well as being lulled by lion calls all night long. And when we wake up, at dawn, we go through the toilets in the car, it's much more careful! In summary, we don't come here for the quality of the camp or the services, but to be in the heart of the bush, far from everything. And that's the case !!

We stayed in Kudu tent and although a braai is provided we needed to use our own cooking utensils. The campsite did not have any firewood for sale so were glad we bought enough to last us for our whole stay in Moremi Reserve. Also the small shop had very limited food available and no frozen meat when we visited. As this is in the game reserve animals do walk through the camp so care is needed walking around the site. The outside washroom is very basic and watch out for wasps climbing inside the taps looking for water!

We really enjoyed our two nights here, including the ellies wandering passed the tent and the hyena who tried to steal our steaks off the braai! Nice tent and bathroom. However, I do wonder who this accommodation is aimed at? Only self-campers will have the equipment needed to cook here, but they have their own tent to use? We don't camp and so had to purchase a small stove and bring basic utensils as we knew nothing was provided here except a braai. But the location is of course superb with excellent animal viewing from the deck. Also recommend the mokoro trips at Mboma Boat Station...

Third Bridge had the most friendliest staff ever! Their ablution blocks were always squeaky clean too. We had a chance to see a pride of lions right by the gate and many more. Unfortunately for us, it rained alot though

Lovely, clean, private campsite with great views, great staff and perfectly maintained ablutions, with clean bath mats provided daily in a basket. We loved every minute of being there. Great game viewing including a hyena den just near the camp. Strongly recommend as a base for visiting other areas of the park.

Spent a couple nights in the tented camp, the room was spacious and clean. Separate en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower. Stand alone water pipe and braai. Enjoyed our stay here and having a little break from sleeping in our tent on top of our Land Cruiser.

Stayed two nights with my wife and son just before the bridge reopened. Quite a challenging drive there but well worth it. Masses of wildlife Both on our drives and within the camp. Small shop selling provisions which was helpful. Great experience

We had fantastic viewing and just being in the wild is so amazing and third bridge was amazing to stay. We came from Maun's side towards Kasane and stayed in these great national parks. Were very dry at the moment and our convoy was amazing sitings.

Hi Henriette,
I can’t be 100% sure but would guess the bridges will carry your campervan. We were in a fully laden Landcruiser with an off-road camper trailer. Granted the load was spread over greater length. However these camps are frequented by “overland” trucks that far exceed your campervan GMV. There are certainly alternative routes in the dry season, but wouldn’t bet on it in the rainy season. All the best Lisa.
When it comes to camping in Botswana, you must bring everything.
There is a small shop at the campsite, but it does not carry much, mostly essentials. I suggest that you rather stock-up at the nearest big town.
A tent, cooking equipment, table, chairs, sleeping equipment (mattresses, sleeping bag, pillow, stretcher), water, spare diesel, puncture kit, tow rope, spade are the least of your requirements.
Good camera, never drive alone, always in convoy with at least one other vehicle, two way radio, binoculars, bird and mammal book, and plenty of patience and can do attitude.
There are more places to choose from in the Moremi Game Reserve area.
