The main problem with this camp is that it is not actually anywhere near the Okavango Delta, so if you are coming to see the wetlands, you will be very disappointed (as we were). That said, we did see a lot of game in the savannah surrounding the camp. And the staff is absolutely terrific--they definitely do the best they...

We had so much fun at Santawani Lodge. The staff were delightful, the food was great, and the accommodations were comfortable. The game viewing was fabulous!! We saw leopards & lions. There were so many elephants at the watering holes at night we dubbed them "Pachyderm Pool Parties." This is not luxury living. But why come to Africa on safari...

Lots of personality at this remote camp, with Auntie and her band of wonderful staff, who took good care of us. Facilities reasonable. Big O was a wondeful guide with a keen sense of humor, who backtracked for a hour looking for my camera on his own, which had fallen out of the land cruiser.

On an OAT trip we were both surprised and disappointed that we were at such a run down and poorly maintained camp. OAT got greedy and is running more trips than they can comfortable handle: they are over extending the resources on the ground for their trips and this place should not be used until it is fully remodeled. Most...

We stayed here for 3 nights of OAT Ultimate Africa. The staff is warm, attentive and knew our names upon arrival. They greeted us with songs and wet cloths and delicious meals. We stayed in a cabin, simply adorned, but comfortable. Had an issue with hot water the first night and Auntie reprimanded me in the am for not flashing...

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The delta is a great area for wildlife viewing and the drivers are very knowledgable. We stayed in one of the chalets which were cooler during the day and warmer at night than the tents.

Not only is the Okavango Delta an exquisite and thrilling wildlife location but the Santawani Lodge was our favorite camp in Botswana. As other reviewers have noted, the staff is undeniably exceptional. Lead by penultimate "Auntie," they are enthusiastic, attentive, melodious, meticulous and fun! They all called us by name within the first day of our stay. Our guides, Gully...

We recently stayed at the Santawani Lodge while on an OAT trip. Although not the nicest of accommodations we stayed at on our safari, the staff at this lodge were so outstanding, they made up for it. We had a warm, enthusiastic and melodious greeting from the Santawani singers (staff) when we arrived. They served delicious food at each meal...

Maybe it was the time of year (end of the dry season) but the amount of wildlife was a little disappointing and much of the area appeared somewhat desolate. The staff at the camp however were a delight and the guides excellent. The chalets were clean and basic, no electricity overnight so torches definitely needed if bathroom visiting before 5...

We went with a family group and had a fabulous visit. The staff was wonderful and really worked to entertain the kids we had on our trip. "Auntie" was especially good with the kids and taught them African games and worked with them to learn some basic words in Setswana. The lodge is affiliated with the Santawani community and thus...
