Pros: Very comfortable and spacious bed and room; Beautiful View; Good Breakfast; Very family friendly Cons: Some lack of maintenance, especially on the balcony and outdoor spaces; Not much to see or do in Pedra de Ouro, but São Pedro de Moel and Marinha Grande are near.

We recently spent a weekend at this inn (albergaria), using a gift voucher for one of the nights. We enjoyed the region, the nearby villages and the food but we must say given the chance we wouldn't return to this place and actually regretted our choice. The room was relatively clean (not immaculate) but there were a bunch of problems... On the first night we couldn't get the remote to work so, even after minutes of trying, the TV was "stuck" in the same channel, making a lot of noise. The next day, after we mentioned it, it was explained to us how to make it work (not intuitive at all), and we later overheard the same explanation to other guests... so obviously it's a recurrent problem and it just seems logical to either change the system, have some sort of visible explanation in the rooms or just explaining it at check in. For the whole time there we couldn’t get any decent wifi connection for more than a few seconds and in the room the network mentioned at check-in was never even visible. The hairdryer thing was broken, missing the hairdryer itself, actually. The headboard had some sort of radio system that didn't work. What bothered me was not so much all the damaged stuff, but no one mentioning it. If you present these services/facilities and then they're unusable, the least you can do is inform the guests upon arrival and offer alternatives, if needed. The balcony facing the ocean - which we paid extra for and were hoping to enjoy - looked completely neglected with these uncomfortable looking sun loungers with filthy covers where you just wouldn't want to lay down. If you do stay here, I highly recommend saving the extra €20 a night… or take your own seats! The indoor pool was right beside the eating area, divided only by a clear glass, which, along with what seemed to be stagnant water, I didn't find inviting at all. I never even saw the jacuzzi (which according to the voucher we supposedly also had access to) and it was never mentioned to us. I must say the breakfast was not that bad but, in the second morning, we arrived a little later and there was only one piece left of the more traditional type bread. No one was around for us to inquire about this so we had to be satisfied with what was left.…

Boa Noite Exma Sra Sofia (Mota?), Antes de mais, gostaria de a relembrar de que não veio para nenhum hotel, veio para um alojamento local (parecido a um hostel, basicamente é a minha casa e eu alugo quartos) daí a gerência familiar e todo o ar mais informal que encontra assim que entra pela porta da recepção. Posto isto, relembro que deveria ter cuidado com o que insinua (chamar mentiroso a alguém não lhe fica bem !!), especialmente num meio (internet) onde muita coisa é fácil de ser dita e é vista por muita gente, sem o outro lado se puder (muitas vezes, o que não é o caso) defender. Ninguém lhe mentiu no check-in ao dizer-lhe que existe internet nos quartos, a senhora deve ter ouvido mal, vou partir do principio que foi isso !! A internet existe nas zonas comuns, se teve algum problema com a ligação, deveria ter-nos informado, visto que ninguém aqui é bruxo, como deve entender, nós não adivinhamos as coisas, essa situação da não-conexão pode acontecer quando um determinado nº de entradas fica registada nos routers da internet. E como é um processo demorado ao qual não temos acesso, quando isso acontece, teremos de pedir para limpar os routers e aí já consegue acessar sem problemas... Mas mais uma vez, nós não adivinhamos . Em relação ao secador de cabelo, realmente tem um que está preso à parede e não tem tubo, o material tem 20 anos, se o retirarmos fica um buraco na parede e fica a faltar no inventário que temos de prestar ao dono da Albergaria. NO ENTANTO, se tivesse aberto a gaveta do móvel do wc, tinha visto um secador de cabelo preto e vermelho que se liga à tomada . . . não deve ter reparado ??! Se nos tivesse questionado se havia ou não secador, tinha-lhe indicado que estava lá o secador na gaveta. Mais uma vez, não adivinhamos ! Em relação às TV's, as tv's têm de se colocar no canal HDMI ou AV !! Como a electricidade do quarto é desactivada sempre que se retira o cartão da ranhura, a tv é reiniciada também, e por isso, tem de colocar no canal AV ou HDMI (no seu caso, visto se tratar duma tv de ecrã plano teria de colocar em HDMI). Penso que a sua Tv que tem em casa, funciona da mesma maneira ! Mais uma vez, se tivesse vindo ter connosco ou ligado o nº 9 para a recepção, logo após os primeiros "minutos de tentativas" teria tido ajuda imediata, mas preferiu deixar para os bruxos adivinharem ! O sistema de rádio das cabeceiras das camas (que está incutido na própria cabeceira) não funciona desde que nós chegámos cá (À 5 anos atrás) e como deve entender, não íamos tirar as cabeceiras (!?). NÃO ESTÁ publicitado em lado nenhum, se tinha dúvida se funcionava, perguntava, mas mais uma vez, esperou para deixar aqui o belo do comentário ... Caso não saiba, como opção, existem 2 canais de rádio na lista de canais da TV, se calhar não viu, se calhar nem era importante... mas incomodou-a , enfim ! ... Se calhar não está....pois ! Em relação à varanda, esteve a chover constantemente por estes lados desde quinta dia 9, até ao fim de semana da semana passada, só esta semana é que melhorou... Não viu as obras na rua ? Não viu o vento que estava ? Obviamente que com a chuva e com o pó , terra e salitre que vem no ar e do mar, as espreguiçadeiras não fiquem próprias para alguém se deitar. Mas queria se deitar à chuva ? É uma ideia nova, não conhecia. Em relação à piscina, se não viu o jacussi foi porque nem foi à área da piscina ! NEM PERGUNTOU, mais uma vez !!! Água parada ?? Se não estiver ninguém na piscina acha que vou ligar os motores do jacussi ou da piscina ? Em sua casa, se não estiver a fazer comida liga o fogão ou o forno ??! Enfim... Com certeza que lhe foi informado por e-mail qual a TºC e o horário da piscina/jacussi/ginásio... E se não sabia onde era, tem placas identificativas pelas paredes da Albergaria a indicar onde fica a piscina... Mas, também não deve ter visto ! ... mas sabe, podia ter perguntado ! Em relação ao Pão, peço desculpa por não ter tido pão quando chegou, por acaso, nesse dia estive eu a fazer o pequeno-almoço e foi um dia excepcional, porque alargamos o pequeno-almoço até ao meio dia, à hora que chegou, se não estava ninguém na sala dos pequeno-almoços era porque eu estava a cozer pão, porque tive alguns casais (não foi só a senhora) a chegar mais tarde e estiquei o horário, de forma a ninguém ficar sem tomar o pequeno-almoço e fui cozer pão extra. Se calhar ainda não estava cozido quando chegou, não lhe sei precisar, porque realmente, ninguém me falou na falta de pão ! Se ninguém disse nada, partimos do principio que estavam todos satisfeitos. Sabe, é interessante, eu não me consigo lembrar da senhora, e estive o fim de semana todo a trabalhar (como todos os dias da semana, das 8h30 às 23h30).... Não tive uma única queixa de si, nem a mim, nem a nenhum dos meus colegas (familiares), portanto, partimos todos do principio que estava tudo bem ... Se estava tudo TÃO MAL, porque é que não reclamou no livro de reclamações, que é seu direito ? Porque é que não nos disse nada ? Tudo o que disse tinha-lhe sido explicado na hora, teríamos feito tudo o que está ao nosso alcance para melhorar ou ajudá-la no que fosse preciso... Mas infelizmente, não o fez, e foi chateada para casa, e passado duas semanas faz um comentário depreciativo sem nos ter dito nada e sem nos ter dado a hipótese de nos redimir, na altura, de possíveis erros... Porque sabe, deste lado, trabalham humanos, que erram, que têm uma casa aberta ao público e fazem os possíveis e muitas vezes o inimaginável para melhorar o serviço e servir da melhor maneira possível, fazendo amigos e aumentando a família ! Que é um dos nosso lemas ! Deste lado estão seres humanos que trabalham mais do que possa imaginar para a senhora puder vir com um voucher de 49€ (em que tem uma comissão de 25% para a Odisseias, recebemos +- 32€ pelo seu voucher) e ficar num quarto sem ser os que estão contemplados nos vouchers, perdendo cerca de 35€ pelo quarto/noite por estar a abrir uma excepção e fazer-lhe o upgrade, mesmo com o baixo custo pelo upgrade. This nice Hotel is located right by the Atlantic with a fantastic view. You can enjoy the huge waves of the Portuguese cost direct from your room, from the bar or from the pool. Notice that you need a car to get here, but it isn't expensive to rent a car in Portugal anyway and from this small village you get very easy to Nazare or Leiria.

Visited this hotel for a long weekend with the family. First, I would point out the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to go the extra mile to meet your needs/requests. Second, it is much more like staying at someone's house then a hotel: you really feel at home. Good location and very good dining for in-hotel dining.
