I love Lawaki. I live in Suva and have been to lots of different resorts in Fiji during my time here, and Lawaki is the place I love to come back to the most. The setting is lovely, a welcoming homestead house in a beautiful green valley, fronting onto the beach. The food is a real pleasure, fresh from the...

I had an amazing experience staying at Lawaki in 2012, and 2013 was no different. Sam and Christine really take pride in the operation they run. They put a great deal of effort into making sure the guests are happy. This is not a big resort with elaborate pools or fancy restaurants. Lawaki Beach House is a smaller accommodation with...

Sam is a great host. He´s laid back and relaxed but also knows that the guest might need something, and if that happens, jumps right in to fix whatever it is. I stayed in a bungalow, but did little in it but sleep, since the grounds are so nice. There are sunbeds with mattresses, hammocks, a swing, a kayak and...

Bula Eaze, thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our gardens and surrounding. We have checked our mealplans since we just can not believe that staff is eating lobster and not our guest! Lobster is a delicacy and a rare thing on the menu plan. There was a small lobster available while you were...

I had a lovely stay here as a base for visiting friends on the Island. It is very much a family home stay and everyone made me very welcome, and I thank Sam and his family for their warm hospitality. The food was simple but utterly delicious and the setting, quiet, comfortable and easy. Snorkelling out the front and walks...

We've just returned from Fiji and found our experience to be one of the best ever. Christine, Sam and their staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and we truly felt like locals given the hospitality we received. It's hard to put such an experience into words. When I travel to an island paradise like Fiji I want to connect with my surroundings, not with the resort. Lawaki Beach House was among the best I've found in this category. Quiet, simple, good food, perfectly clean and comfortable accommodations surrounded by nature. The fringing reef right in front of the property is a broad meadow of coral and...

We decided to go to Lawaki beach house when we visited Beqa. When we arrived by boat (40$ each) we found the scenery and the main house with the veranda very lovely. By entering the dormitory, we realized, that the price per person and per night (140$) was way too high! Other dormitories along the coral coast offer beds for...

This place is absolutely wonderful with very friendly staff, loads of activities to do, amazing food, a perfectly remote location and lovely little details all around the lodge. Go there if you would like to get away from the major resorts and tourist magnets, but are rather looking for silence, nature and traditional food.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lawaki Beach House is a locally owned eco tourism enterprise with a total of 10beds. It opened in 2003. The managers/owners are Sam & Christine, a Fijian-Swiss couple (we speak english, german and fijian). Sustainability and environmentally friendly management, a low impact on local culture and tradition are an ongoing concern for us. All guests are on a full meal plan. We have our own spring water and organic garden. The resort is powered by solar energy. ... more   less
