Our stay was amazing. The included breakfast was great and plentiful. The cottage was clean and well appointed with a TV, microwave, fridge, stove plus all the cooking stuff. We were very pleased with our stay as well as the included rental jeep in our package. We highly recommend this place. Our host and owner, Tiare, was always there for us, was personally waiting for us at the airport, and personally dropped us back off at the airport for our return flight. She also gave us a small tour of the town on our way to the resort from the airport and showed us the major points of interest (restaurants, visitor center, supermarket, gas station, etc).
This property is a bit away from the town centre. Better rent a car because the uphill location. Clean and lots of space. Breakfast starts at 9 o’clock every day. Staff speaks Spanish mainly, communication can be difficult. But the owner speaks English well. Towels and soap are provided in the bathroom and everything else you should bring your own. Kitchen has limited cooking stuff, plus if you need to buy oil and everything else, not worth it.
The property has 5 individual cabins (the foundations for two more were in place, so I imagine they will be there shortly) and a large main hall in the center. We stayed in #5, a little 2 bedroom. It was a good size, with comfortable beds, kitchen and tv. There were no problems with water pressure or temperature. The property sits a bit out of town, so it is very peaceful and quiet. During our explorations, we noticed the noise levels near some of the other properties around town and were glad we avoided them. The main hall where you get breakfast had a pleasant island vibe to it, and was immaculately clean. Wifi signal was strong, but there were some slow speeds/disconnections. I think this is more of a problem with the ISP on the island than the hotel's service as we experienced the same issues at several other locations. Being an IT guy, I imagine their internet is satellite, and that can be temperamental, especially on overcast/rainy days. So, I can't hold this against the property at all. Overall, loved the property. However, the property itself is outshown by the owner, Tiare. She is probably one of the sweetest people I have ever met and I honestly felt like I'd known her forever after about 2 minutes lol. She picked us up from the airport, gave us a quick tour of the town on the way back to the room, and made sure we had everything we needed. She actually has her cellphone number posted in the room in case anything comes up and you want to talk to her. If I can ever manage another trip to the island, there's no question I'd stay here again. And, I've pretty much made my family/friends promise that if they go, they have to stay here too lol. …
Esteban, owner/operator, picked us up from the airport when we landed and took us over to the Cabana (little house). It had two bedrooms, kitchen/dining area and nice bathroom. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals. Their was WiFi, but it was real spotty and slow, due to it being on Easter Island. There was a nice TV, but we never turned it on since we did not come to watch TV. One bedroom had a Queen bed and the other had three sgl beds. There was a nice covered porch with a small patio set with four chairs and two sitting chairs with cushions. The house was very clean and well kept and really much cheaper then paying for a couple of hotel rooms which we would of needed. In addition Esteban had a vehicle for rent which was a real bonus. Town was within walking distance as well as the Tahai Moais and several single Moais. It was ideally located for us as we walked to the Moais for sunset pictures every night. The rental car from Esteban was much cheaper then renting a car in town. It was a brand new Suzuki and plenty of room for up to four people with a nice area behind the back seat for camera gear and bags with a privacy cover over the top of your stuff. Esteban lived in the house just a short distance from where we were and if we needed anything all we had to do was get ahold of him. He did check with us several times to see if we needed anything. We had our grown daughter with us and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The Fridge and all the appliances worked great and there was also an electric pot for heating water. You only had hot water in the shower, but there was plenty of it with lots of pressure. Really was not a problem as we just heated up water in the electric pot for doing dishes and for the bathroom sink for shaving and washing your face. The price is very reasonable considering everything you get and gives you the privacy and convivence you would not have if staying in a hotel. All the windows had screens, so there was no problem leaving them open at night for the breeze. When it came time to leave Esteban took us to the airport. All in all I don't think you can beat the deal we got with staying here. We were there for six days and still did not want to leave.…
