We have been there for 5 nights in all our stay in Easter Island. The hotel is very close to the airport and about 20 minutes walking to the city center. The staff is amazing and helped us in everything, starting from all the suggestions about places to see and things to do in the Island. The hotel has the possibility to rent a car directly there with a special price not comparable with the prices of the island agencies. If we come back in the Island (we are Italian, is not so close) we surely come back at this hotel. Grazie mille. Luca, Annamaria e Alberto
This is a remote island where everything is not easy, we were lucky to book Cabañas Rapa Nui Orito, first of all thanks to Jorge, he was waiting for us at the airport, then he took us to downtown to buy, the must to have, tickets to get into the parks, this was impossible at the airport due the long lines there, then he took us to their place, the Cabañas are well made, they have a small kitchen with everything you need, beds were great, there are no AC, but with the fan you can enjoy fresh sleeps, then he recommended us the Kari Kari show which is a nice cultural dance show, Jorge took cares of everything and made the reservation, I rented a car which we think is a must in the Island, Cabañas are little far from Downtown and not a walking distance, but also offers a great peaceful place to stay, car was brought to the Cabañas just for us to take the keys, at the end we left the car there as well, can not be more stress less, everything went smooth and made a great vacations for us, thanks Jorge, Carola and Mauren for all you kindness and always ready to help and makes this vacation a one to remember, hope to get back some day!!…
We had a very comfortable stay at the Cabanas Rapa Nui Orito. The rooms and the grounds are very well maintained. The airport pick-up and drop-off were as promised. From a location standpoint, it is about 35-40 minutes walk to the town center. We ended up doing a mix of walks or cabs for 3000 CLP. The breakfast was ok and we supplemented it with instant oatmeal which we had brought with us. Overall, pleased with our stay. The hotel staff recommended 3 restaurants to us (te Moana, Haka Honu) and they all were great.
Had an amazing stay! Staff responded quickly to all emails. Provided pick up from airport--greeted us at the airport with leis! Grounds were beautiful. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Area around the hotel was very quiet. Located just a little ways out of the central part of Hanga Roa, but very easy to get to if you have a rental car (which you can rent from the hotel) Pretty much located at the crossroad between going to the north part of the island and the east- convenient base to explore the whole island. To consider (was not negative but worth knowing): Not really walk-able to any restaurants but less than a 2 min drive away from Hanga Roa. Turn in to the hotel is a little dark at night so definitely need to keep a sharp lookout.
I booked this stay online the day before my arrival based on the reviews and the fact that there is airport pick up. Arriving from a night flight, I was looking for a hassle-free experience. I took extra care to also send an email directly to the reception withall the details of my arrival. The result was: - no airport pick up - the receptionnist was completly clueless regarding my stay, and asked me to check my reservation. When he realized that I was correct, he stated that it was not 'his' problem (!!!), but mine. He told me that they check their emails once in a blue moon, that I should not expect the same service as on the mainland, and that 'his' guests (implying I am not one..) book 'weeks in advance'. When I told him that in such case his hotel should not make use of online reservation platforms which provide instant confirmation, he was again clueless. Bottom line, don't stay there if you haven't booked 'weeks in advance' .. else you will face a kind of 'WTF' attitude, with no decent customer service to say the least. The owner apologized on the same evening for the behaviour of the receptionnist, but it was too late. I decided not to extend my stay for the remainig 6 days, and found another place with super friendly owners, 10 min walk from city center, and for... half the price Cabanas Orito is asking for. On another note, these Cabanas are one hour walk return trip from the city center (car rental is ~80-100 USD per day for an automatic small car. Taxi is about 15 USD return trip). The bungalow itself was ok. Breakfast is not served before 8.30am, else you need to get it the night before and store it in you fridge.…
