About the room: very cute, clean, spacious, super comfortable bed and pillows, the little kitchen has everything you need, it gets pretty hot during the day, it would be nice to have a ceiling fan... Location: close enough to the ocean, nice view from every balcony, very nice breezes all day. The garden is beautiful, many flowers, banana trees, pineapples, mangoes, etc. The hostess lives on the property so she is always available to help. It is a 5 minute drive to town, I recommend you rent a car (the lodge has them available). Our hosts: we met Jerome and Fidji (father and daughter) both super friendly and helpful, went out of their way to help us when the government mandated an evacuation due to Corona virus. In case we were to get stuck in the island for 2 weeks, they offered to host us and help with our laundry, etc. Really wonderful people!!!

When we arrived late at night after a long time in the queue for customs, Fidji the owner and her husband were waiting graciously for us with 2 lovely leis. The bungalow we chose was perfect for us, beautifully made & decorated, a touch of class. The next day we were able to see the grounds and the view of the ocean, both delightful. Fidji came over and gave us some local restaurant tips, which we used and were not disappointed, great choices. In fact Fidji looked after us very well throughout our stay. We saw other accommodation while driving round the island, but we are very confident that Kona Koa is the best. We hope very much to return to Rapa Nui & if we do, we will certainly stay at Kona Koa.

Kona Koa was a lovely spot outside of town, but not too far. It was quiet and the views and property were lovely, facing the sunset. The bungalow itself was nicely arranged with bathroom and sleeping indoors, a patio to sit at, and a kitchen off of the patio. The kitchen was very nice and neat, including canisters of basic staples like coffee, sugar, and tea. The towels and sheets were soft and smelled freshly clean and the room itself was clean, beds were comfortable. The owner is very nice and helpful, he arranged our tour for us and our rental vehicle and picked us up & returned us to the airport...making everything very easy, we had to just show up! There is a cat on the property that likes to come around, likely because those before you have fed it, so if cats are a severe allergy problem for you, this may not be the place. We just ignored the cat (we have one that is slightly sensitive) and he left us alone, but he was always asking again the next time we arrived! Breakfast not being included is the only thing that made us hesitant here...we would have preferred a location where a nice breakfast was included, but the positives on the location and the setting and the quiet here outweighed that, we went to the grocery store and made hot chocolate with milk each morning to start off.

This lodge is owned by a European. So the design of the lodge is very modern. It is surprisingly clean and big. Unfortunately wifi is not very strong but whole island has the same problem. There were few problems during the stay and the owner helped us Re solve it quick. He also helped us laundried all of our clothes for free. There is a kitchen inside the villa and I suggest you to cook your lunch and dinner instead of eating out. The reason is even the highest ranking restaurants on Easter island taste terrible. I rather had self made sandwiches for lunch instead of eating outside. This is a good idea to rent this villa as you can make own meal. There is no restaurant inside the lodge so I suggest you ask the owner to drop you to grocery stall after he pick you up from airport. Especially breadfast is not provided by the inside the villa. I also suggest you to bring slippers, and chargeable hairdryer to Easter island. Most of the hotel in Peru and Chili do not provide desposible slippers. The mattresses that use in room are very high quality and we slept very well. He can book tour for you at a very reasonable price. He only reply what's app after you check in. And there is no phone inside the villa. And no reception there too. So better pre-arrange everything when the staffs are there. The owner also offer free airport pick up and drop off service. I hope you have a nice stay. Easter island is very beautiful and worth a visit.

Right from the moment Natalie picked us up from the airport until we had to leave we had the most perfect stay at Kona Koa Lodge in their Hoe Vaka bungalow. The bungalow is located in a beautiful rural setting, just a ten minute drive from Hanga Roa. It is very well equipped with a small kitchenette, comfortable bed, wonderful views across to the Pacific Ocean and an excellent shower. It is serviced daily except Sunday and has been well constructed and maintained. We rented a Suzuki Jimny 4x4 from Natalie which was invaluable for getting around as the some of the pot-holed roads need good ground clearance. We would thoroughly recommend Kona Koa Lodge for anyone visiting Easter Island. Thanks Natalie for a perfect stay.
