I stayed here for 4 nights while hiking in the area. The rooms were decent size and the wifi worked. Depending on your room, it might be a little noisy if the hotel is full. A continental breakfast was included and you can order a box lunch to take on your hike which was good. They also served beer, wine...

Don’t get me wrong, El Chalten is fabulous as a frontier town – you could easily imagine yourself in a cowboy movie. Poincenot, as a hotel, is better than you might expect on first arriving at El Chalten. The hotel is very fit for purpose, if like us you are there to explore Fitzroy on foot. We found the hotel...

It looks on the first hand, very modern. The rooms also - quite some space! The bathroom isn't that big and the bath is also quite small. There is free WiFi and staff is kind. The breakfast that is included is okay. They serve also stuff like wall nuts, almonds and raisins. This is all okay. But after a hike...

We were happy for 4 nights with the large room on the 3rd floor. A bit anxious that it'd be too warm being on the upper level, but with individual heating switched off the room stayed cool. Breakfast meticulously prepared except the fruit salad that was a bit old and partly with canned fruit. I undestand though that fresh fruits...

We felt that the basics took this small hotel to the top of what is available in El Chalten. A reasonable price compared to others in town, while still being very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Staff was very helpful and friendly - truly exceptional. The included breakfast was far above average. Wi-Fi sucked, but this appears to be the case...

Our triple room was basic but sufficient and clean. Very good value price with a basic but satisfactory breakfast included. The staff / administrative aspects of this hotel could use work. I had an awful time trying to book this place. The staff did not communicate well over email and had no way of taking credit card information over phone...

We stayed here for 3 nights. This was my first trip to El Chalten, and was surprised to find that the whole town was basically centered around the trails. The hotel location was convenient to the main trails, so we were very happy with this. The hotel is pretty basic, but considering where you are (middle of nowhere Patagonia), what...

We stayed 4 days during low season, the rooms are small but comfortable and clean. The place seemed to be sparsely staffed but we had everyone we needed. Price was right (low season) and well situated. Ample breakfast, well laid out open architecture. I recommend Poincenot, but if you need fast, consistent wifi, maybe not the best choice.

I booked a room (double bed) last minute for one night.  Room decor was tasteful, dark wood and they were not stingy with toiletries and towels. However - BIG NO-NO: very disappointed to see that the bedsheets were not clean. There were stains all over the duvet cover, pillowcase and mattress sheet. Breakfast was really terrible (even by Argentinian standards!)...

First of all, the hotel is in a great location close to the trailheads for Cerro Torre and Monte Fitz Roy. It is a 15-minute walk from the bus station, though, which might be a bit much with a lot of luggage (I had a roller bag so I was fine). The room was very nice with a comfy bed...

“The rooms were warm but the windows opened to let in cooler air. Occasionally there was a slight sewer smell in the bathroom, so check out the room first. The rooms face a center stair well so you may hear noise if people come in late…but we were so tired from hiking it didn't bother us.”
