We stayed here for several nights in January. Our room was clean and quite large with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The location is very convenient (on the main street, close to lots of restaurants and starts of all the main hiking trails). The staff were all very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great - plenty of options and...

We recently stayed at El Alamo for one night while in El Chalten. The service was great (they even folded our bath towels to looks like swans), and the accommodations were simple but nice and clean. The included breakfast was the best we had while in Patagonia. If you're in El Chalten, you can't go wrong staying at El Alamo.

Located pretty centrally and right on the path to the start of the mirador torre trek. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and warm. The downstairs are isn't that comfy, so there's not too many people hanging out and exchanging advices etc. but otherwise pretty good.

Management excellent with Jorge - not so great with Maria who seems to begrudge any question that takes her away from her Solitaire. Rooms need some work. Breakfast ok. Many nice people staying there.

El Alamo is a good place to stay in El Chalten, the town is quite expensive and we found this to be a good value for money place. Rooms are a good size with your own bathroom, they are clean, but some of them are quite dark. Breakfast is the usual with bread, butter, jam, juice, some serials and also...

We were walk-ins to El Alamo, and from the minute we walked in we were greeted with smiles. The staff were unbelievable accommodating in arranging a room for me on short notice. I cannot express enough appreciation to the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. They not only arranged out room, they recommended which trails to hike, which restaurants to eat...

This is a great place to stay for awhile while you explore all the hiking (or whatever your favourite activity is) in the area. Basic rooms, great common space, hearty breakfast, and staff that really went over and beyond what they had to. Highly recommended.

Helpful staff, clean rooms and a nice breakfast. The only downside was that the hotel is a little noisy. We definitely felt like we got a good value for what we paid. The hotel held our luggage while we were out camping. Would recommend!
