Just returned from week in Isle of Lewis and stayed in the Argyll before we went to save overnight travelling. The Hotel looked good from the off but my first dissapointment was the room we booked. We booked the family bunk room thinking bunk beds for kids but didn't expect bunk beds for mum and dad especially for the £120...

My husband and I have been travelling through Scotland. Starting from Perth to Aberdeen, Inverness, Thurso to Ullapool. There my husband got ill. I went to the reception where the owner helped me to call the doctor. Also they did not mind that we checked out in the afternoon. My husband felt ok to drive so we left Argyll Hotel....

Room was clean, with view of harbour. Floor boards did creak but thats what you expect in a building this old. Good evening meal and the grilled kippers in the morning were excellent. Folk music in the bar at night till 11pm.

Cheap but does not give too much: dirty bathroom, practically no water pressure, lighting was not working proprerly and fancoil was cooling the room whole night long (no way to switch it off). Breakfast does not worth the price, you can get better a la carte somewhere else. However for basic needs the hotel is an option with this price.

Pros: Room at the back was quiet Bed was huge & comfy Room & en-suite were clean Staff were friendly & helpful Breakfast was nice (as it should be for the price) Cons: Shower had no pressure so we had to have baths The price - I'm OK with spending £95 for a room but I'd expect at least a...

I have never left a bad review on Tripadvisor but £95 for a single room with no en-suite and no breakfast seemed expensive. After a motorbike trip from Edinburgh through every kind of weather, I just couldn't be bothered looking for anywhere else. The room became very noisy when the room above was taken. The floorboards creaked so loudly they'd...

The occasion was a visit to Ullapool for the Feis Rois 2015. and what an occasion that is for a first time participant. Ullapool is seething with musical talent of the traditional Scottish variety. You cannot enter a hotel or cafe during the weekend without the sound of traditional Scottish music and/or song greeting you. The Argyll Hotel was no...

Enjoyed a night in a spacious comfortable room with harbor view and huge bathroom at the end of the building. Lucked on a music festival, made for a very busy bar and restaurant, but the staff managed well. Good big breakfast.

I booked this hotel mainly as it was pet-friendly, and I didn't expect a luxury room. But even so it was awful - on arrival, the person on reception couldn't gave been less welcoming if he'd tried. He said as we had booked room only (sure i had booked breakfast?) we had to fill out a form if we wanted...
