A brief stay at The Bruce hotel on our way to Ayrshire. We were made very welcome and had a good size bedroom with all the usual treats. On finding the bathroom radiator wasn't working a fan heater was quickly supplied. Both lunch and evening meal were very good. Many thanks to Callum and David for making our short stay a fine experience.

This is a lovely little hotel in the Dumfries and Galloway town of Newton Stewart with excellent staff. My colleague and I were in the area on a business trip so were only staying one night so cannot speak for what an extended stay would be like but for a day trip it was ideal for our needs. We ate... I cant praise the Staff of the Hotel high enough. Nothing was too much trouble from connecting us to they'r Wi-fi, free of charge, to serving us in the Bar and Dining Room. Service was always with a Smile. The Rooms are Charming and Spotless and the Beds very comfortable. It was a Pleasure from beginning to end. Thank You.

An excellent hotel in every respect. It was what it was a good comfortable small hotel, the staff were friendly; efficient and courteous; the food was good a bit basic but fine. Our room was very good and warm, important in Scotland during February Cannot recommend highly enough, infinitely better than The Crown

I cannot think of anything negative to write about this hotel! The staff are exceptional and they are probably the best asset the hotel has, from the housekeeper to the manager, they are professional, friendly and welcoming. We could not find anything they wouldn't do for us! They really do make it their pleasure, and not just their duty, to... More

We stayed two nights here as we were working in the area. It was just after the floods in November and the town still had sandbags in places nearer the river. The hotel, luckily is up hill from the River Cree so wasn't affected. The staff are wonderful very friendly and courteous, the room was big and very warm, with... More

Stayed in this hotel in November. The rooms are cold, central heating barely on. Cold showers, very little in the way of toiletries,( very small packs.) Needed to put two wool blankets on the bed to stay warm. The main reception area was very warm,( should channel it all upstairs somehow for the guests!) Beds are okay, but the sheets... More

I think this is possibly the best value hotel I have ever stayed at. We have just spent 3 days at the Bruce Hotel and had tremendous fun despite the weather! The Thursday night quiz is excellent (even if we didn't win, although the podium place was a good result). Menu choice is terrific and fresh - thoroughly recommend the... More
