Liked · The lovely lady on reception(just had a knee op) who greeted us warmly and explained everything. The breakfast team who run a tight ship and were perfect - especially friendly and helpful Disliked · The room - 1A - make sure you do NOT have it. Tired, worn and smelt of a strange mixture of TCP and stale cigarettes. Certainly didn't match any of the Booking.com photos. I thought we were in a mountain cloud when I looked out of the window - but how I was disappointed. It was the kitchen extractor fans throwing out fumes an arms length from the window. Our view was of the fabricated roof of the kitchen. Oh well it will be dark soon... After dinner (took fifteen minutes in a queue) my pie, carrots and potatoes arrives within about 2 minutes. Sadly the veg were tepid and the stew warm in places. So had to return it or a nuclear blast in the machine. Returned (no, called to the bar to collect) the now hot meal, with no apology of any sort. Returned to the room and then noticed the continual noise of the extractor fan. My wife is not happy and gets dressed to complain but no one in reception so just put up with it. £138 for the night........

Amazing atmosphere in this lovely little find with great staff and great food. This cosy place served us well as we were camping locally and this was just the bolt hole we needed. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.we had the spinach burger and the fish and chips. Delicious!

I popped by on a hike with my dog for some food after wanting to come here since before lockdown-the lady at the bar wanted a table number before she would take my order but she didn't offer to bring anything out. I said it would be tricky to carry all my food and a hot drink with a slightly energetic dog but she didn't respond. I ended up making 3 trips in and out to carry it all, and then couldn't find any spoons so ended up eating my soup with bread and a fork. The guy behind the bar who asked if I was being served was lovely, wish he had served me instead

Lovely little chalet room, spotlessly clean, nice view of the mountains, fantastic breakfast, really friendly staff, dog-friendly, nice dining area for dinner, and then there’s Boots Bar for a whisky from the large range the have. Can’t fault it really.
