Hidden away on the vast 18th Century pleasure gardens of the Fonthill estate once owned by the richest and, some say, most notorious, man in England, this beautiful pub offers an setting that is hard to beat. The food is imaginative and delicious. Everything is done properly and discreetly and no eyebrows will be raised if you fail to use...

We have eaten here several times and always had a great time. Good kitchen with lots to select from on the menu. Service is usually from young locals and generally friendly and pleasant. Well run place and worth a journey.

As a rare treat we booked in here for Sunday lunch. We were a little disappointed to be put in the lounge right by the door ensuring that we had people walking past our table to exit/ enter. It also felt a little like intruding on a family get together as there seemed to be quite a little reunion occurring...

Great food once again, but such a shame that tables, floors etc aren't cleaned up properly from night before and waiting time in between courses so very slow, ie half an hour or so between starters and main as staff so busy. Unlikely to return again this time.

We were in the area for the End of the Road festival and made the Beckford Arms our base. It is perfect for a morning stroll, excellent as a place for a few drinks and also the food they serve is as good as any gastro pub offering I've tried. They even provided wellies if it was raining (which it did)....

We visited tonight - our first visit. It will not be our last. The meal was first class. Even as a vegetarian I had a choice for both courses. Loved the heritage tomato and artichoke salad. My husband a carnivore was also very happy with his meal. The service was excellent. The meal well cooked and well presented and the...

We stayed for one night for a short getaway, and were very happy with our stay. The room was comfortable and well presented, with some very thoughtful additional touches - bath salts, a spare razor, a spare toothbrush - and the hotel's location was perfect for walking, right on the edge of the picturesque Fonthill Estate. The hotel also provided...

Great food, brilliant staff and lovely location - definitely worth a visit! My girlfriend and I both had the ploughman's lunch... which I thoroughly recommend! I cannot get over how friendly and attentive the staff are.
