Found this jewel in the west , and we were not disappointed at all . we did have the smallest bathroom , and with my husband standing at 6 5" it was a challenge but it certainly did not take away from the warm, hospitable welcome , the sumptuous food and the most amazing whiskys, gins and wine on offer...

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were greeted quickly by the manager, who gave us a very swift tour of the hotel. Plenty of communal areas with a separate bar, lounge and library. We had a nice size room and bathroom, all modern with a traditional flare. We opted to dine-in and thoroughly enjoyed the 3 course set menu....

Hotels sometimes can be like meal choices – full of expectations based on their descriptions and reviews – initial satisfaction of making a good choice – then the mounting anticipation as the plate heads towards the table – and then the reality of your choice ….. Stayed one night on a Wednesday in June – room 12 – a classic...

On the banks of the loch, it was a treat to watch the geese, ducks & divers teaching their young the arts of survival. The hotel itself is a bit "quiirky" with irrelevant ornaments on every possible surface. What a chore for the cleaners! who consequently haven't time to remove spiders & webs from ceilings. The food, however, is 5-star...

Great overnight stay in a very large 'superior double' room. Excellent food and comfortable public areas. Friendly staff although they seemed to be constantly rushing everywhere and letting guests know how hectic things were which doesn't create a very relaxed ambiance for guests! Would recommend this hotel though as a great overnight stop for foodies.

Unfortunately we cannot agree with the consistent 5 star reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor. Having stayed 4 days and just loved Sheildaig Lodge 4 years ago and experienced the warmth, hospitality and vast local knowledge of the previous owner we were sadly disappointed with our recent visit. Although efficient the manager and his assistant were more interested in...

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Dinner was lovely, or room overlooked the water and we watched the sun go down. The only negative point was the bath water that came out brown due to the peat I was advised. Living in Scotland I can understand this but if was rather off-putting all the same. Couldn't quite bring...

This is recently refurbished shooting lodge. We had a really enjoyable stay, and given the location and views, represented pretty good value for money. We really liked the public rooms which provide a great view of the loch and the feeding birds including a group of herons. We also thoroughly enjoyed the snooker room with a 2/3rds size table which...

We only spent one night at the Shieldaig Lodge but wish it had been longer. The location is in the most beautiful areas of Scotland and the hotel has been tastefully restored. When we arrived it was wall to wall sunshine and over 22C. The reception was very friendly and this continued the whole time we were there. It was...
