Had an amazing overnight stay in this 'haunted' hotel. Although some areas are a little tired the staff, atmosphere and location over took that small point. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms where clean and comfortable. Anyone wanting a short break away I would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed here on Bonfire Night 2016 and after seeing the hotel feature on Most Haunted we were very excited about staying here and in Room 30 which is supposedly one of the Haunted rooms. We arrived during a rain... More

I stayed in Room 28 with two friends for 2 nights, the first night was ruined by drunken ghost hunters who who had a massed brawl, but the second night was the worst, at about 11pm we were woken by strange grunting and then giggling outside our door when it had stopped there was a foul smell so I decided... Waited a long time but it was well worth it! They get the Indian food from Alnwick so had to wait for delivery but oh my lord it was delicious. Butter chicken with cashew nut pilau was the best I've tasted.

Just back from this hotel after two nights stay and feel I should tell others to avoid this place. Although the girl on reception the first night was chatty the room had bird poo on the bed and furniture. Think they leave windows open during the day and the birds fly in. Breakfast was awful didn't eat anything. Fire alarm... More

We called here for an evening meal the four of us no need to book they said. That and the fact we were the only diners should have set the alarm bells ringing. The man on reception seemed to have many jobs,Receptionist/Barman/Waiter. We ordered our drinks and starters off the Indian menu and I have to say they were very... More
