This B&B probably occupies the most beautiful spot in Alnmouth, which my sister and I fell in love with straight away. Alnmouth is on the Newcastle-Edinburgh cycle route and a highly recommended stopover point - our favourite of the week. We received an extremely friendly welcome upon arrival at Westlea. The amount of information given to us on arrival was...

Stayed at Westlea for 1 night last week. The booking process was quick and from the very outset Janice the owner was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We had a spacious room with a balcony which overlooked the estuary. The room was clean and the bath room spacious and clean (the shower was fantastic). There is a...

Great B&B and run by the most friendly lady (Janice). Nothing was too much bother (dinner bookings, directions, phoning ahead) and she even tolerated our 3 children running amok for 4 days. Great location opposite a park on the river in this beautiful, unspoilt little seaside town. Great base for exploring Alnwick Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Banburgh Castle and Holy Island...

This was a chance stop for me, mid-evening, on a cycling tour. The guest house is on a quiet side-road by the estuary, yet conveniently central in the picturesque seaside village of Alnmouth The proprietor was immediately very helpful and even rang up a couple of restaurants so I could be sure of an evening meal. The room was very...

We've stayed in quite a few guest houses and hotels over the years but never have we experienced such warmth and friendliness. Janice is an amazing lady for whom nothing is too much trouble. She is a fount of local knowledge from places to visit to places to eat (and she'll book a table for you too). We have been...

We booked our stay at the Westlea mostly based on the Trip Advisor reviews we read, but we found it all a little strange. I'd guess that being in our mid-50's we were some way younger than the average Westlea guest! Janice is a wonderful host who does go very much out of her way to be exceptionally helpful. She...

We have stayed at Westlea before - Alnmouth being our favourite beach destination - but found Janice fully booked the last 2-3 times and had to stay elsewhere. However, on this occasion we were in luck, and I mean really in luck! We managed to get a room at the front of the property with a balcony; the weather was...

Just back from a couple of days spent at Westlea. What a great find, Janice the owner could not have been more welcoming and so helpful, lovely lady. Our room was just lovely, everything of very good quality and Janice had thought of everything that might be needed. We had a balcony which faced onto the estuary so was a...

our 1st visit to Northumberland and we couldn't have wished for a better reception on arrival. Janice made us feel so welcome and is such a lovely hostess. We cannot fault anything at "WESTLEA", a lovely quiet position overlooking the estuary, the room was immaculate, well decorated and a very comfortable bed....we both had a brilliants nights sleep. Breakfast was...
