Chris and Sarah are great hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome and the mutt was completely spoilt! Stayed in the Red room, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. We will definitely be returning, highly recommended

Spent three nights here and loved it! Very friendly and helpful hosts, a spacious room looking out to the castle, and wakened in the morning by the sound of horses hooves on the street as they went to their gallop. Breakfast choice was excellent. Well worthy of their awards.

Back in 2013 a pub flooded in Middleham and we were turned away at the door. Our Easter weekend booking was worthless and spirits low. And then we found the Priory! the bed and breakfast accommodation was newly opened and only partially complete but already fully booked for that April weekend; but Chris and Sarah Mears took pity on us...

We stayed for 3 nights over new year in this picturesque Yorkshire village. The Priory is in the quieter west part of the village with the castle being a close neighbour; it is the other side of the street. There was ample parking in the village square nearby. Sarah and Chris welcomed us warmly on our arrival. Their level of...

An excellent venue and an excellent B and B. Middleham is full of history, pubs, racehorses and surrounded by wonderful scenery. Room 6 is our favourite and breakfast is always good. A great base to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

We stayed here for one night in November just for a pre Christmas break. On the morning of our visit the owner rang to ask whether we would like an upgrade to a superior room but pointed out that it was up an extra floor. As we had no issues with stairs we gratefully accepted. The room was beautifully decorated...

Set in the heart of historical Middleham overlooking Richard III’s childhood home, Middleham Castle, The Priory offers an escape to the country for those who aren’t prepared to compromise on urban luxuries. Middleham is famous for its race horse connections and groups of horses pass by the front of the Priory every morning on their way to the gallops. Located within easy reach of Manchester, Leeds, Harrogate and York, 5 race courses and several golf clubs. Nearest train station is Northallerton, and the nearest town is Leyburn (2 miles). Middleham has a local village store and local public houses serving food. The main house has 5 bedrooms, a guest Drawing Room and dining room. There is a walled garden for the use of guests – sit under the apple tree sipping a glass of wine and sharing one of Chris’s special summer BBQs. Drying, Ironing & Laundry facilities available. Well behaved dogs are welcome at the Priory in certain rooms by arrangement at point of booking for a small additional charge. Street parking available, there are no yellow lines in Middleham! The whole of the Priory is also available for house parties – price on application depending on requirements.
