Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

The Best Western Plus Kenwick Park Hotel has received accolades for its cleanliness, with guests particularly impressed by the pristine Leisure Centre and well-kept rooms. Although the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, some visitors have noted that the decor feels outdated and in need of an upgrade. Service quality appears to fluctuate, with experiences of exceptional care contrasting with moments of unprofessionalism. The hotel's atmosphere also elicits mixed reactions, with charming elements like live piano music set against a backdrop of some areas that guests feel could use a refresh. The amenities, including the golf and spa services, are generally well-regarded, but accessibility concerns and dated aspects have been pointed out. When it comes to value, traveler opinions are split; some find the hotel's packages to be a good deal, while others question the pricing in relation to the quality of services provided.

Really difficult to review, as the pool and spa are exceptional and when staying in the hotel you don't have the 1 hour limit lodges do. We used from 730pm to 930pm when we stayed and it was nice and quiet.
The hotel grounds and corridors are nice and you can tell money is being spent on the hotel, but our family room was really poor. Clean, but poor. We had holes in the curtains, stains on the cushions, the most dated furniture with grubby walls, holes in the cabinets and the narrowest bath with overhead shower which lacked power.
No conditioner or lotion, just nasty non luxurious shampoo and shower gel. The WiFi was shocking and practically non existent. The breakfast sounded nice on paper so we booked for a discounted rate of £10 pp but it was a buffet breakfast that had horrible coffee and was bang average, in fact I think a premier inns is probably better.
The majority of staff were friendly and helpful, so I didn't want to complain but If it wasn't for the pool and spa facilities, I'd not have been happy paying for the room I received but I sucked it up for the facilities.

This was our third trip to this lovely Hotel and Leisure Centre. We have stayed in many Best Western Hotels around the country and this is one of our favourites. We particularly like Best Western because often Dogs are allowed so we can take our elderly Labrador, Bentley, and at this Hotel he can go into a separate Dining Room with us for his Sausage or Black Pudding !

This time we stayed in a first floor very spacious twin bedded room with dual aspect in the Annexe a short distance from the main Hotel. We preferred this room to the other two we have stayed in before because it was a short distance away from the patio outside the Dining Room. On one occasion during hot weather we were kept awake until quite late by people talking loudly outside. We were told that this room was due for refurbishment, although we liked the Wallpaper !

The Leisure Centre is spacious, kept very clean with a large Swimming Pool which is also open to Non-Residents, and the rest of the Hotel is also very clelan. The Shower area is particularly good with separate Shower Cubicles, hair dryers in the Ladies side, machine for ringing out the swimwear and separate changing cubicles also. Because our room had a shower over the narrow bath, and not a walk-in shower which we have had in a large suite in the past when we didn't take Bentley, we used to shower in the Changing Areas after our swims. When we were there a reservation system was in place.

The grounds are very spacious and there is a Golf Course and Car Park at the front of the Hotel. There are also Chalets in the wooded grounds.

The staff are very pleasant and the food and drinks are good. We will gladly return here again.

The buildings, grounds and facilities are lovely and many of the staff are excellent but the attitude of the "owners" is obviously money, money money rather than customer service.
We had booked a long weekend as a get away with a view to relaxing after a busy time in our lives. Having booked a deluxe room I was disappointed by the room, which was underwhelming. If the room we were given was deluxe, which I had booked and paid for, I dread to think what the standard rooms are like. Yes it was quiet, at the end of the corridor but it was very small and in reality could only be described as a large single. The walk-in shower was fine for me but my wife likes a bath. Only I armchair to relax in and a standard double bed. The room was clean and tidy, with a nice chandelier. The in room drinks facilities are very basic.
The food was nothing to write home about. Breakfast was a buffet which was rather bland and uninspiring.
Dinner, the menu looked like something you can find in any pub restaurant but with a higher price tag. The food was palatable and hot.
The leisure facilities are excellent and to a degree saved the visit from being a total failure. The modern pool and spa area exceptional. With sauna, steam room, ice house and laconium all of which are clean and well kept. The pool is long enough to do your daily lengths. Around the pool are loungers and the foyer of the facility has places to sit and have a coffee, with a small coffee shop. There is a gym but I did not feel that energetic to use it. Only down side as with the whole site is it is cashless, which means you have to have your credit card with you at all times to pay for everything from £1 for a towel (if you are resident in the hotel bring one from your room for free) to the price of a cup of coffee. I leave my wallet in my room when I go swimming and carry a couple of £1 coins in my goggle case, so was lucky my wife was with me with her card.
The grounds are well kept and provide a number of places to walk. The village of Little Cawthorpe (with nice pub) is well within walking (not suitable for wheelchairs) distance even for those of us of advancing years.
If you are some-one who like to ruin a good walk with a ball and a stick (golfer) then this may be the place for you. There is a course on site and not being a golfer I cannot vouch for the quality of the course but as we walked through the adjacent woodlands the course appeared to be good condition and challenging.
Everything is driven by cards and QR codes which is you are a modern, aloof Gen Z or Millennial person might be right up your street but if you are a Baby Boomer or Silent Generation the lack of human touches may well put you off. Will we visit again, probably not which is a pity as the facilities and grounds are really exquisite.

Best wedding ever!
We had our wedding at Kenwick Park on 7th December 2024, 118 day guests and around 190 evening guests.
The majority of our guests either stayed in the lodges or the hotel, which has recently
been renovated, all of which commented how lovely they were, and how excellent the service was.
We booked it a year previous following a meeting with Kenwick’s wedding planner Sam. Firstly, Sam was exceptional from the day we booked it to the day we left the day after the wedding, nothing was too much trouble, her support, communication and dedication to her role was off the scale, what an absolute credit you are to Kenwick park - thank you.
Kenwick worked with us to tailor our day to meet exactly what we wanted in line with our budget, they helped us put Christmas trees up, lights, decorations, vases and bent over backwards to help us set up as much as we could, to take the pressure off on the wedding day!
They welcomed our suppliers who all commented how lovely the venue was and how professional yet personal ALL the staff were.
We had a Christmas menu with 4 menu choices, all of which were fabulous, despite the fact the speeches overran, well done to your chiefs for managing to keep it all so fresh and warm! The food was served so efficiently by the staff, quickly clearing tables ready for the desert course.
Anita who ran our day was an absolute superstar, always one step ahead, making sure our guests were looked after, that we were happy, stayed until stupid o’clock tidying up so we didn’t have to do it the following day, and even went out of her way to put our bouquets in water that were left on the side (I’d had far too many shots to remember it!) so they kept fresh! Without you our day wouldn’t have been the same, thank you so much.
There were far too many excellent staff members to name them all, but Brian, thank you for saving the day in the bad weather and looking after my mum and children, you was so lovely and kind, the fabulous guy behind the bar (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name), but he made the best espresso martini and was so fabulous with our guests, the bar staff didn’t stop all night. The reception staff who were so welcoming, finding us tape, scissors, rooms
to store things at the drop of a hat! Thank you all so much.
Kenwick Park will always hold a special place in our hearts, anyone looking for a wedding venue look no further, you won’t regret it. I genuinely don’t believe venues that cost far in excess of what we’ve paid would give such a faultless, personal service, love, support, beautiful accommodation reasonably prices with such beautiful spa facilities! A massive well done, I just wish we could do it all again!

Brilliant stay. Stayed here before, but the hotel has had some major updating since last stay, and it looks fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, and all of the communal areas, dining, and corridors have been redecorated and look cosy and welcoming. All staff from check-in to dining helpful and friendly. Food om evening was nice and served hot and no long waits. The spa offer is great value and again the spa staff are amazing so professional and welcoming from arriving at spa, to the afternoon tea and treatment it was so relaxing I can't wait to come and stay again. Thank you, Kenwick Park and Spa, for a wonderful break.

My wife and I where bought a spa break for Xmas. Our son couldn't buy a spa break for 2 on there website so bought 2 x classic overnight spa breaks for 1 at £189 each. Which includes use of the pool in the spa. Afternoon tea,A 1 hour treatment. £25 for towards an evening meal. An overnight stay in the hotel and breakfast next morning.
So we go to book our stay, to be greeted by a receptionist who informed us that we can't have 1 room the night before the spa day and one room after the dinner. We say we'll you have been paid for 2 rooms so why can't we have two rooms. She tells us that we can have two rooms, one each on the same night but not different nights. We complain then a spa lady joins in and says it's company policy. No matter how much protesting they ain't moving. We have no choice as no refunds on spa breaks, so we have no choice but to take just one room, so we ask if we can be upgraded to a deluxe room, which they tell us we have to pay another £20 for. Just thought we would tell other people don't buy the spa stays if your going to share a room as its cheaper to just pay for everything individually.

Brilliant staff, everyone is friendly and professional
Pool & spa impressive and well maintained - really nice pool area, sauna, steam room indoor / outdoor Jacuzzi etc. (the Tepidarium was my personal favourite luxury!)
I stayed in a "Lodge" - a static caravan with two bedrooms (both ensuite) and an outdoor wooden decked terrace area.
Kitchen equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher.
Everything impeccably clean.

I couldn't recommend more highly

Up on entering the hotel we had a good impression and after speaking with the restaurant staff we were more impressed, but the kitchen let the whole place down.
I wanted to order the Lincolnshire sausage sandwich, but I first asked the waitress if the sausages were cooked to order or are they left over from breakfast, she went to ask the chef. His answer was no, the breakfast sausages were disposed of and he had cooked new ones after breakfast. In preparation for lunch, so in effect pre-cooked sausage, why? Lincolnshire sausages are probably one of the best in the country, so why not cook them fresh to order.
I ordered a BLT instead, to my amazement the bacon was pre-cooked, why?
I hope the so called chef reads this and gets his act together, stop
pre-cooking simple food and cook it to order, that's why you are there.

The hotel was of a good standard. Clean comfortable rooms. In lovely surroundings.
The food was ok freshly cooked in the hotel although a little expensive as with most hotels. The outside jaccuzzi area of the spa building needed a good clean and some of the jet functions did not work. And have not done so for several months. The spa cafe area serves mainly frozen food warmed up in a microwave. Even the jackets potatoes. And all fillings are frozen.
The chilli con carni we were given was very small tasteless portions.
