Stayed one night because thats all we had, but l feel l must try and overule all the negative exagerating reviews about the Packhorse from spoiled travellers who lost passion and romance somewhere in their lives, our stay was absolutely lovely the food was great, very friendly and even the pub guests were much better behaving than many would be...

My husband and I stayed for one night! Room was very comfortable! We returned quite early to our room in the evening and the noise (music) from the pub downstairs was pretty loud but didn't stop us from getting to sleep or relaxing! Upon arrival the room was very cold but once the heating was turned on the room reached...

I fell into the trap booking through Booking.com . Photos and rating clearly manipulated and far from reality!! Walked into a bar to find someone in a hi viz jacket behind the bar serving 1 customer with drinks. Initially disappointed with 1st impression. Paid my room to a young lady who showed me the double room which was cold damp,...

Mexican burger and tuna sandwich. The Burger had no fresh chillies or peppers and the guacamole accompaniment was too sharp. The tuna was too watery, the White bread became brown and they used some kind of marg instead of butter. The chips were the real thing but too greasy

The place was dirty and rooms with exposed pipes and wall paper about 20 years old peeling off the wall. The floor boards were noisy and the language was awful. We had to search for clean cutlery. Not a place I would recommend

We stayed at the Packhorse for 2 nights in a double room while visiting family in the area. After arriving late for our check in food had stopped being served, the owner kindly offered to make us some pizza's and sandwiches. The pizza's were outstanding and we were actually glad we missed the main menu as usually pizza's are not...

Myself and my wife visited the Packhorse about 6 months ago and was greeted with some of the abusive behavior and unacceptable food stated in previous reviews, HOWEVER since hearing the pub has been taken over and hearing some positive comments we decided to give it another go. One word.. WOW the food was exceptional with unbelievable homemade chips and...

First things first, this is a Town Center Pub, so some noise can be expected, but considering it was a Bank Holiday Sunday Evening it wasn't too bad. When we arrived at about two ish, our room wasn't ready, so the young lady insisted we had a drink on the house. Nice touch!. We stayed in Room 4 which was...

I've stayed here for 7 years running whilst visiting nearby Cadwell Park. The building is located in the centre of Louth with free parking at the rear of the building. The building itself is many hundreds of years old and full of character so expect single glazed Windows which let in some noise and walls that aren't 100% flat. This...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Packhorse is situated in Louth town centre in close proximity to all local amenities and attractions. We are a lively sports bar showing both Sky Sports and BT Sports. Most Fridays we have Karaoke night. The noise from the bar below can be heard in hotel rooms at weekends, although our superior double room is at the back of the building which offers a quieter night. We try to accommodate everyone so if you have any special requirements please do not hesitate to call and speak with the manager who will be happy to help. Pets are considered. ... more   less
