A really beautiful place to visit on a weekend for lunch. Very welcoming, with a traditional feel and open fire. The food was great and the staff very obliging, trying to fit us in despite being very busy. Can highly recommend a visit.

Four of us attended the Cross Keys for a dinner on Sunday. The food was good and nicely presented. We were served by three different waiters and the service wasn't the best but we still enjoyed the dinner.

The Cross Keys Hotel serves lovely food and has a comfortable English restaurant/pub atmosphere about it. It is slightly more expensive than other pubs in the town and village area, expect to pay around £14 for a main (I tend to get 2 starters as a main) however they do lunchtime specials! The service could be faster and they automatically...

My husband and I ate at The Cross Keys on Saturday and were really impressed. The food was absolutely amazing and I'm a really fussy eater! The service too was excellent and the 2 course lunch menu at £13.95 was very good value for money. Portion sizes were good and the staff were very efficient. When we arrived there was...

We stayed one (Saturday) night for a concert at the Saffron Hall. We bumped into Market Day when the approach to the hotel and car park were closed off - something the Hotel claim to tell their Saturday guest, but Booking.com usually omit - manager to talk to Agents. However, that made for more interest and there are plenty of...

Visited on a Thursday at Lunchtime restaurant. The selection was excellent with a lunchtime special for two courses £13-95. The mussels as a starter were excellent and well presented with finger bowl with lemon slice. The main (Haddock & Chips) were generous with side pots of pureed peas, mango and freshly made tartare sauce. Presentation in vibrant atmosphere with excellent...

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and shown to our wonderful room. The hotel is situated right in the middle of this delightful town, but still has car parking for guests. The hotel is more than 650 years old and an historic visit in its own right, but everything within is bang up-to-date. The...

I hadn't been in the Cross Keys for 18m, due to the birth of our daughter. I remembered it as acceptable pub food but nothing outstanding. This time - wow! Amazing fish and chips. Truffle oiled mushy peas, the finest golden chips, the tastiest battered haddock. I am fortunate to have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants, The Ivy in Londons...

I had the best dinner here and my waiter Billy was a delightful, handsome informative young chappie. He recommended excellent wines and the choice of dessert he picked was fabulous . The staff are all welcoming and friendly, smartly dressed and efficient. I could not rave more about this place, i will be making it a firm favourite and would...

I had pre booked a table for 3 at 2pm today. On arriving we were placed st a table for 4 but squashed in as another patrons walking aid had been placed at the fourth seat. We asked if we could move to the free table behind which had no reserved sign on it but told no as that was...
