We stayed here as a family of five, meaning we had the place to ourselves (there are two twin bedrooms, one single). It is above a charming bookshop and so close to the sea that you can lie in bed and hear the waves at night. The decor is charming, spotless and you are welcome to browse the books that...

We stayed at The Booklover's B&B for our 5th wedding anniversary, having had a wonderful weekend there 9 years ago and always planned to return. Bob and Mariko made us feel incredibly welcome, We were shown around the B&B by Bob, and were told to treat the B&B like our home while we were there. (as the owners do not...

A short stay in Lyme ,which we love and have visited many times before. We always feel welcome at the b and b and although the room is smaller the facilities are excellent. A welcome addition was a dressing gown which was great as I didn't bring mine! I love all the books and the quirkiness of the whole place!...

For me this is the best place ever. To be surrounded by books and at the same time have the very english (for a foreigner) interior with victorian atmosphere and welcoming attitude. The rooms are beautiful, but also the staircase and living room (which was the first living room I actually used in a b&b). It is also a very...

My family and I decided to squeeze all three of us in what was described as the 'Garden View' room, it really looked over a car park but Lyme Regis is such a gorgeous village the view was still very pleasant. The spare bed was rock hard and on the floor but okay as we were only there for one...

This is such a little gem I hesitate to tell you about it. Part of me wants to keep it all to myself, but the owners, Mariko and Bob Speer, are so lovely, so here is my recommendation. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by Bob the bookseller and his charming wife. The double room was resplendent...

10,000 books and three bedrooms. Yes there are a lot of stairs, yes it is very creaky and a bit tatty, yes the sea view bedroom's bathroom is down a few flights of stairs but you get a shared sitting room, the run of the place and more books than you could ever want or imagine exist. Mariko and Bob...

This is the unique B&B of Lyme Regis, and it is THE central one. It overlooks the historic spot called Cobb Gate, where Broad Street meets the sea, so it's seconds away from the beach, the shops, the museum, the theatre, the bridge over the river. Mariko is a sweet and deeply cultured hostess, and if you wish she can...

A wonderful, quirky (think Harry Potter) B&B full of charm and comfort. Mariko & Bob are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The location is stunning - you couldn't get much closer to the Sea Front of Lyme Regis without getting very wet and there is no more a beautiful English Seaside Village. Should the weather turn against you, and you've...

We stayed for just one night but would like to have stayed longer. Spend the night in a bookshop - heaven. We were first shown up winding stairs with books all up the stairs to our own sitting room overlooking the sea; toys available for small children, DVD player and today's newspapers. Then to our bedroom, also overlooking the sea,...
