The hotel's best asset is its position overlooking Lyme Bay, but in spite of having been assured at the time of booking that we'd have sweeping views over the Cobb round to Golden Cap, we couldn't see The Cap because the local cinema obscures the view. Disappointing. Amenities are generally comfortable, but internet access was rubbish. I wish the hotel...

Dear HowISeeThings Thank you for writing a review concerning your recent stay at the Alexandra. I am very sorry that you were unable to see the Cap itself from your room but I am sure you would agree that the view over the Cobb and out to sea is still quite breathtaking. I appreciate your comments with regard to the...

The hotel, staff and food was lovely - I was made to feel very welcome. I'd definitely return for another visit. I particularly liked the spectacular sea view from my room and its elegant décor. This is definitely the place to go if you want luxury and under stated elegance!

This is a fantastically run hotel in Lyme Regis - with a particularly first rate hotel manager, and some very nice and attentive staff. The hotel overlooks the sea (if you have a sea room) with a great garden which must be fantastic in the summer. We enjoyed a beautifully cooked dinner on the first night and a pretty good...

Directly overlooking Lyme Bay the Alexandra is extremely well located, a minute to the main street but still quiet and lots of cafés. The hotel was very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent food (great kippers for breakfast which is so appropriate for Lyme) and very fresh fish in the restaurant for dinner. Very nice rooms in an older house full of...

We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary. Just wanted to go somewhere where we hadn't been before. Criteria for this trip - relaxation and we like poking around new places:0) Arrived at hotel, very lovely, a very "nooks and cranny" sort of place. Quirky. Rooms going off at all angles. (A lot of stairs, so this may not be...

My wife and I had a two day stay here as a special birthday treat for me, it was lovely. The hotel has a great ambience and the staff were very helpful and polite. I couldn't fault it, although it was very expensive. The food was first class in the restaurant although the service was a little slow, it's fine...

A return visit, can often be disappointing but not this time. Super Reception team, room superb - precisely the one we had booked as we have a dog with us. Excellent restaurant with the staff being very flexible and relaxed about my wife's requested changes to the Chef's creations! Comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom, lovely views across the gardens to...

8 of us had Sunday lunch booked the day before. The setting and ambiance of the hotel is wonderful.
