I am a regular on Trip Advisor, will not book a trip without checking the place out first....but this is my first review. My husband and myself usually have 2 trips away a year to a nice hotel whilst leaving the kids with grandparents. As...More

This is a very laid back and casual hotel set in a superb country house in lovely grounds. It has an extensive kitchen garden where they grow their own produce. There are several large lounges with fireplaces to relax in and extensive grounds to go...More

It’s taken a long time to get round to writing this, as went to The Pig in Combe in March, but needed to do a review. From the moment you pull in the drive, to seeing the house, to getting in and exploring, this truly...More

I really don't want to gush but this really is an exceptional place. The location is breathtaking and the building itself has real gravitas and a grandeur that reminds you of a by-gone age. The building is very sympathetically decorated and the rooms are comfortable...More

Such a shame how much this place has changed under new ownership. We first visited when it was Coombe House and were overwhelmed by the friendly staff, food, ambience (huge Christmas tree, log fire, resident cat), everything! We raved about it so much that our friends joined us for a meal there some months later. The lovely gentleman greeting us seemingly remembered us from our previous visit and made us all feel so welcome. The food, as we had told our friends, was fantastic and they were blown away by the whole evening - as they are 'foodies' we were so pleased they enjoyed it as much as us. We returned recently and weren't impressed. I think the change of the name to 'The Pig' resonates the standard to now expect. Alan Titchmarsh was dining there when we visited. I wonder if he still does?

Yes usually you can, and even if you don’t want to eat in the main resteraunt, there is a lovely old orangery that does light bites and freshly made wood fired pizza etc.
