We stayed over the weekend for a special anniversary, which I mentioned when booking. Prosecco and a card was waiting for us on arrival, which was a really thoughtful touch (I had meant to ask for this, but they beat me to it!) Having seen some previous room photos on TripAdvisor, my heart sank when we were told we would...

Despite arriving in the pouring rain, the welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. Our room had a lovely view of the estuary and harbour. The room was a standard double, clean and comfortable. The bathroom needed an update, but was clean and everything we could need was supplied. Complimentary tea/coffee with homemade biscuits were provided in the lounge...

Most of the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. One barman was very friendly and pro-active in suggesting alternate drinks, including an excellent locally prepared gin. Another barman lacked enthusiasm. The reception staff were very helpful, again with one exception, who showed no interest in establishing the enjoyment of our stay, beyond presenting us with the account (1% fee for...

All the staff have been polite, helpful and friendly, we have stayed here quiet a few times recently and have never been disappointed. The food gives Rick Steins sea food restaurant a run for its money and at half the price. Well done the Metropole . WE look forward to staying with you again in August.

All staff encountered at the hotel were very professional and polite. The restaurant area is lovely and breakfast was fantastic. Looking out across the harbour when having your breakfast is a great way to start the day. The rooms are slightly dated if I'm being honest and the bathrooms could do with a makeover, however beds are very comfortable. The...

Great hotel in a great position. Friendly, helpful staff and an excellent restaurant. My only caveat was that our room was too warm and airless with limited ventillation . The second fan I requested did help to overcome the problem.

A very relaxing place to stay with friendly helpful staff, great food and, wonderful views of the sea are to be had. The downside is that the hotel is in need of modernisation - for example, one evening the water was no more than luke warm, not something one would expect to encounter in a what is a fairly expensive...

A drink and a light lunch in the restaurant with a panoramic view of the estuary, sheer heaven. Excellent service and excellent food. Easy walk down to the quay and the amenities of the town. The hotel commands a magnificent site, is sumptuous and comfortable. Staff all friendly and helpful. A venue to be revisited any time.

We stayed in this Hotel for one night, on the way down to St Ives. First impression, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was nice with good facilities and a comfy bed and overall clean and welcoming. As we were only staying one night, we did not bother with a sea view room, but if we were...

Like previous reviews, I can only reiterate what has been said about the Metropole hotel. A large grand hotel in a superb location, five to ten minutes walk to the heart of Padstow, above and away from the maddening crowds, with a lovely quiet and calm feel about the place, for when you have had enough of the hustle and...
